  1. Sulliman , I have to disagree I doubt he will ever make the first team on a regular basis.
  2. I reckon his knob stinks of cheese
  3. Thats a good point actually - wonder where the trail will be held ? and the jury selection process
  4. Yes. If any manager gets the sack they are entitled to the rest of their contract paid up front. For Bruce thats one years salary. Typically though a manager doesn't want to stay, but doesn't want to resign and miss a big payday - the club want him gone, but don't want to cough up the full contract - so it who blinks first. Generally the two sides get together and agree a compensation package - less than the manager is entitled to - but not so low as he thinks he is better off taking the club to court. The departure of Remi Garde is a good example of this. In all cases though it is reported as the manager "getting sacked" - rather left by mutual consent !
  5. Depends on the extent - fill the team with our u23's Id be confident of relegation (lets not forget the Peterborough result last season) Doyle-Hayes, Mitch Clark (think thats the one) look promising - not overly convinced by any of the others - a few of our u23's seem to have problems staying fit as well.
  6. Im probably out of step here, but the guy had to make split second decisions. It is easy to say with reference to numerous reports and the benefit of hindsight that he should have done this that and the other, he didn't have that option. I would have to question whether he would get a fair trail such is the momentum that this thing has got going now.
  7. Alexander Arnold stole the show apparently https://liverpooloffside.sbnation.com/liverpool-fc-international-duty/2018/6/28/17515912/trent-alexander-arnold-shines-world-cup-competitive-debut-england-belgium "Alexander-Arnold embraced the role, putting in a number of dangerous crosses, as well as a cheeky long-range effort that nearly caught Thibault Courtois out" . "but Alexander-Arnold certainly did enough to make his manager think twice about who will be starting in the round of 16 match against Colombia on Tuesday."
  8. Ah right that explains a lot - I was thinking the reason for bright start in the other 2 games was the lack of liverpool media darlings ! - should have known one would be waiting in the wings !
  9. I don't know for sure that any other clubs have been so reckless. The only example I can think of is Leeds when they were chasing champions league. Newcastle - largely kept their existing squad together - I wasn't aware they went on the spending spree in terms of transfer fee's that we did Brighton - Don't know about wages - But I don't recall a big splash in the transfer market Lets not forget over a period of two seasons a as a championship club, we spent big on wages and fees - close to £60 80m on fees alone, not many prem clubs can do that , this was from a relegated loss making position - IMO thats as reckless as it can get. I can't agree that all of this would have been avoided if we won promotion - For starters Xia would have had to pay Randy another £20m or so (the terms of the purchase) - Then there is the fact we wouldn't see any TV money until the end of the 2018/9 season
  10. Yes it does - thats the whole point of a rolling contract - it can't be a 'bit of rolling contract' - it Rolls on so it always has a year to run. Ron Saunders had one - The Bendalls tried to alter it , which led to Saunders resigning. I really wouldn't rule out Bruce resigning in the next couple of weeks. I think he will pretty swiftly demand answers from Steve Round - which I doubt he will get - he will then leave by mutual consent IMO
  11. If Alexander Arnold gets to play for England - then Bree must be worth £20m ?
  12. How did that Arnold geezer get a game ? - I know he is very young but looked a million miles away from cutting it at this level - the look of relief on his face when he got subbed.
  13. apart from the fact we are the greatest team in world soccer... . .yes!
  14. More worryingly who would 'Dr Tony" choose to replace him !!!
  15. Lerner seemed to move on pretty quickly once we had that "We want Lerner Out" little ditty - we need a new and just catchy Xia out Ditty....
  16. Id say he doesn't want to sell - but he is going to have to Most worrying thing about that tweet is he still sees himself as some sort of hero
  17. Unless its a double offer from Spurs ......Also its better for FFP to sell home grown players that didn't cost us a transfer fee
  18. No - what I meant was - no takeover is imminent - but put it out there to ease the pain of selling Grealish.
  19. Its only TBAR - but an ITK on there reckons we have sales lined up to the tune of £30m - suggests one of them maybe Andre Green - but Adds that one of the departees isn't Chester. Spurs double swoop for Greene & Grealish. ???
  20. We are selling Grealish and this is the 'Sugar' to help the medicine go down.
  21. I don't fully understand the companies thing - and why there are involved in that. IMO Xia doesn't really have the money to have purchased Aston Villa in the first place. Recon seems a tangled web, consistent with Xia grabbing big headlines - then not coming through. You are quite right to say that it doesn't prove anything. I guess its down to degree's are we racking up massive and unsustainable debts again IMO Yes .....where does that leave our future ? again all opinions , but mine is that we aren't going to be on an upward trajectory anytime soon.
  22. The club are saving up for a whole shirt - in the interim weve brought the collar...
  23. Rightly or wrongly people have made that assumption. The combination of those two deals and missing the tax payment have led people to conclude that we are struggling to cover our outgoings. There isn't documentation, but when is there ? - you read the papers and decide for yourself whats true.
  24. A few points 1.He owed Randy another instalment so had we got promoted - thats another £20m or so on the outs column 2.He has taken advances on a good % of income - to fund a promotion push - effectively we now have no income - but still outgoings 3.Fraud - well a word with many uses, in a criminal sense NO - but he has talked up his wealth, and has a history of grabbing the headline without any substance - he has mis lead us 4.He made the totally left field appointment of RDM - 5.Would we be having this discussions had we beat Fulham ?- no - not yet - but the shaky foundations of Xia's Aston Villa reign would IMO have come to surface in due course... I just want him gone - I dread to think what his next scheme is - or even his next appointment of CEO or Manager. What he has done at Aston Villa is reckless vandalism.
