Major question for me is why two very wealthy guys are 'clubbing together' to buy part of Aston Villa. The sceptic in me says they are buying a number of shares and this could all be a glorified loan. Hope when details come out they have a controlling interest.

So everyone else has got it wrong all these months and years weve been discussing it on here - ? and you have got it right ? If what you say is correct - why is FFP there ? - why have clubs been fined ? Which FFP rules are you looking that ? - Its the EFL ones that apply to us.

Its not as simple as just reading the rules and picking out a sentence to back up your argument. The basic principle of FFP is to stop people pumping cash in to prop up clubs. Which rules are you looking at ? - UEFA FFP rules have a clause that you mention - but not EFL rules. As a case point XIA has been here two years - but losses from lerners reign still count for FFP. - take a look at QPR and FFP.

Agreed - we can go on with Dr Loony Xia - and we (i) know nothing about the new owners - but it doesn't sound overly promising IMO.

No - if we don't get them we have a very serious crisis in the short term. Having owners who don't understand football, never come to VP, isn't going to work - sure they might cover next months tax and wages bill - but after that ?

Where on earth have you got that from ? The whole point of FFP is you can not inject cash to cover losses - as somebody posted ages ago- FFP is more about preventing another Man City than another portsmouth.

Yes - but on what timescales. That Jenkins fella said that Bruce wouldn't be here next season - I would be very surprised if he isn't.

His brief was to find a buyer - nothing more nothing less. The fact that we were up for sales for two years and the best that could be found was Xia - should worry the hell out of villa fans.

Sensibly cash injection now to keep us from going under - taking full control as the takeover goes through - getting the legals done to meet this months bills - then onto the full takeover. W eve been burnt a couple of times with overseas owners, I am not celebrating yet, if indeed any of this is true.

Xia is done here. It could just express and star taking a punt that he has now realised this - but XIA is approaching the exit door - pretty rapidly IMO.

Tough Job. I am a villa fan because of my dad - he died last year - I miss him greatly. We had some great times at VP together. Best wishes to your Dad.

Dunno - thought Albert was woeful in the second half of last season - so much so that with a fit Andre Green not so sure Albert would retain his place.
