  1. Do Tottenham and Arsenal really bring in that much more revenue to the Premier League? More than Everton? Title winning Leicester? Storied AstonVilla? Maybe slightly more, but not enough for them to have a special say in voting right, ala Carraher's point.
  2. I've got a bit of a crush on Steve Parrish. These are strange times.
  3. I love it when these football media bods acknowledge that AVFC are massive, have won the European Cup and are massive.
  4. They need 10 players to get near the top six? They are currently 7th, two points behind 6th.
  5. Porto have come out and said they have rejected the advances of the Super League too. I'm forever an optimist, but I really think these teams have bitten off more than they can chew this time.
  6. Dortmund and Bayern turning this down is massive.
  7. I'm excited. Football needed a change, this is the catalyst of the change.
  8. Off the top of my head... Seville, Valencia, Sociedad, Lazio, Roma, Sampdoria, Atalanta, Napoli, Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV, Dortmund, Bayern, Leverkusen, Leipzig, PSG, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Villa, Everton, Leicester, West Ham, Anderlecht, Benfica, Sporting, Red Star Belgrade... the list goes on. There's many storied, ambitious teams left that could rejuvenate European football. I'm not so sure the big players would be as keen on the Super League as their owners hope them to be. Money doesn't always talk. And, we've seen how much the players have talked about playing in empty stadiums... Man Utd v Inter on Wednesday at 1300, really? I'm all for this. If it means short term pain for a time, so be it. Villa will always be Villa. I go to VP for beers with my friends and to see my son smile. Its not for the football and definitely not for the privilege of seeing Spurs play. **** these teams off, I think they've bitten off more than they can chew this time.
  9. Rugby's top league is ring-fenced now too. What's the difference?
  10. Let them go. And then when Arsenal and Spurs finish bottom and second bottom every year, they'll soon come crying back.
  11. LOVE THIS! (Capital letters entirely deliberate).
  12. Wonder if we'll make a move for Tammy? He will want to be #9, no doubt. Move Ollie to the left and have Jack as #10? Its a yes from me.
  13. @mjmooney Having finished the series... I think dreadful is harsh. But the standard definitely decreases and I wouldn't say its a must watch.
  14. I don't go fishing in Blues forums or have any Blues friends, so I can't comment on what Blues fans have or haven't said. The post I replied to that started this conversation said that Blues fans were "boasting about him and it's a little sad". I asked why it was sad and disagree that it's sad. Especially as they have such little else to boast about.
  15. Bale left Southampton 14 years ago. So "wanking themselves silly" probably not. Proud that one of their homegrown players (if he was, I don't know), reached the pinnacle of club football, yeah I'd be proud. Bellingham left Blues less than 14 months ago so I feel they can be rightly proud of the player he is becoming.
  16. Was it only that one season that contributed to him being the footballer he is today?
  17. I don't understand the first sentence. He's not better than Grealish, but you could say he's now achieved more on the Global football stage than Jack has. They trained him and made him the player he is. I'd feel a badge of honour if we helped to mould Jack into a world football great.
  18. Why is it a little sad? Would you not feel proud if Jack left Villa but went on to be one of the best players in the world? Retiring shirt numbers is ridiculous, but being proud of a player who joined as a child and went on to be the player he already is, is something to be proud about.
  19. This is what will stop fucktards on social media sending vile messages. Clubs opting out of social media for a week is a gimmick. Seeing people do hard time, or even have their names plastered across the press for being a racist is a true deterrant. Hopefully we see many more arrests if it carries on.
  20. Then you're at 50/50. Watch a couple of episodes and decide for yourself...
  21. Your Honor, with Bryan Cranston from Breaking Bad is soooooooo good! My brother recommended it to me and I'm very grateful. I'm five episodes deep, get on it if you've not already.
