  1. Downing started on the left against Blackburn and switched to the right after 15 minutes (not sure.) He wasnt getting much change out of Salgado so Albrighton went on the left. I'd like to know who's call that was....does he prefer it on the right???
  2. I just thought he was disciplined and brought so much to the role. Make no mistake Delph can tackle and you cant say that about everyone at Villa. The thing is I dont mind (like) players who put themselves about and I reckon Nani would be on a stretcher before he went past Delph.
  3. Sorry mate I think you're a better poster than judge. just my opinion though.
  4. Yes they were shit and it could be another story is he was to come up against a tricky winger. Only one way to find out though I guess. I cant judge Baker on such little time at the level but I do know that Delph brought an assurance and confidence that lacks in a few in the team that are not as blessed with as much ability. Nani vs Delph .........I know where my money will go.
  5. Clark is now the best CB we have and should remain there come what may.
  6. Blackburn were terrible but we played very well and could only beat what is in front of us. Pires has still got it, hasnt got the legs but the class remains. Fabian Delph played brilliantly at left backand is a young man who doesnt lack confidence. Give Downing room and he plays well, still patchy though and looked scared of Salgado andsoon changed to the right/middle. Ash Young still overhits the pass through to Bent but played his usual energetic game. Clark should keep his place at CB in front of anyone. Well done GH for changing it round.
  7. Thats Terry 'Geezer' Butler. Left to right - Terry, Tony Iommi, Bill Ward, Ozzy.
  8. Ours arent great **** Houllier!! Have you got some weird idea that Im a Houllier hater or summit?? Because Im not, just pointing out facts. Thought it for a long time that our dug outs arent great. We still got those crappy wooden benches??? No I hadnt given a passing thought to you being a Houllier hater or not. Wooden benches?? Parker - Knoll recliners now mate.
  9. Uh....??? Just posting rubbish to get a reaction, nothing to see. Not at all, just merely stating my opinion that if it had been Petrov then most would be absolutely slating him. But because its Makoun (whos no doubt got new player syndrome), people seemed to be finding excuses for him. Thats all. Generalising codswallop in the extreme. I just think that trying to devalue a player after what 3 1/2 games suggests ......something and you're not the only one.
  10. His first time stuff often catches the others out where they're just not ready for the ball or not expecting it. Regarding the tackle, I would say it was a red but I've seen a lot worse. Essien, Keane and Fabregas amoungst others all have a mean streak to varying degrees. I'm not comparing him with those and I dont think he's in that bracket but I'm not unhappy he has that side to him.
  11. To paraphrase Houllier - 'He (Makoun) can sit (DM) or be box to box.'
  12. Yes, we were breaking, both were running from half way in our half, Walker with the ball.
  13. We had better enter Walker for the Olympics then. Furthermore he obviously thinks Richardson (Sunderland home game) is quicker because he didnt go near him let alone take him on.
  14. No, he's no worse or better than Gabby and Ash. None of them are performing whilst you can argue that none are playing their positions. I'm not sure about the pace either as Walker overtook him with the ball aginst Fulham in the first half.
  15. and once again missed the target one on one. Young and Downing arent weighing in and if they dont we could be the shit. No he didn't miss the target, it was saved. He should have scored but missing a chance doesn't make a player awful. He also hit the post from 20 yards with a great effort. He certainly should have scored his chance but don't make him awful because he didn't. I didnt say he was awful now did I. Yes you're right he hit it straight at the keeper. When he's not taking chances you've got to ask what does he bring to the table?

  17. Dont need one anymore, first come basis for ST's. Did get one when invite only but asked due to special occasion.
  18. Hello General Further to my suggestion of 'seat options' over 2 or more years. Would the club consider incorporating FA Cup and League cup into season ticket renewels next season for a 'nominal' increase. (nominal=20 pounds) The gamble being if we're drawn at home or stay in the competitions. I think this would be great incentive to renew and the club would be getting peripheral attendance revenue. Oh and you could throw in a free 'Jean Makoun' sweater as well
  19. If I was Houllier and I thought anything like that was oing on(scapegoating a new player) I'd make those **** train on their own for a month No need for concern though as it was nothing. I'd start a Bradley, Makoun and Petrov in the middle with Ash and Downing on either wing.
  20. Shillzz Makoun was not at fault for the goal. Petrov, Collins, Dunne, Friedel maybe but not Makoun. Give him a bit of time, 10 games down the road not 2 1/2.
  21. That and the fact that Downing is frightened of any physical contact with any other player, dont get me wrong i think he is a very good player, but he is the biggest wimp in our team by a country mile! and so say all of me
  22. Sorry, this is not what I saw. Collins did hold his arms out but not too Makoun in particular. Makoun had previously said something to downing. To say he got a roasting is utter bollocks in my opinion. Furthermore it was Petrov who lost the ball whilst Collins and Dunne cant deal with a bald midget, none of it adds up. Where do you sit? If I tell you, you'll rubbish my arguement. So, on that basis, I dont sit in the Lower Holte. :winkold: From what I saw, Makoun looked pretty upset about the whole thing, and Collins was far from shy in telling him that he was at fault. I'm guessing it's easier to have a go at Makoun than it is Friedel. Like I said I've got a pretty good view from where I am and there was the normal 'where were ya's' but no bollocking. I dont think Dunne said anything. Collins frequently does the arms up thing when we concede. Makoun wasnt upset and he's no sherry drinking violet either. NB the best bollocking I've seen recently player on player was last season, Milner on Collins, a sustained 15 second volley. I thought Collins was going to cry.
