  1. Fabregas didnt learn the game at Arsenal he spent 6 years at Barcelona. Whats wrong with foreign players?
  2. Oh I'm with you on all of that. Someone said he's turned down 2 international jobs, a serie A job and the west brom position, so I dont know what he's waiting for but it better not be us!!
  3. Benitez ran Torres into the ground at plop. I'd agree Benitez is awaiting a grandeur appointment. Well considering how we at little Villa dont want him, good luck to that! Not sure I understand what you mean but I dont want him.
  4. Indeed, this is exactly what I meant. Like it or not, the next era of Aston Villa FC won't be welcomed with the same level of excitement and hope. Depends on who or if an appointment is made to. I'd suggest a lot of ST's are awaiting this before they renew.

  6. What criteria is that great mate? Making more use of our foundation, trimming wage bill down and having a good transfer record. Rafa seems to need millions spend to compete and lately spends it on crap. How much did have to rely on Gerrard and Torres in his final time at Liverpool? I agree I dont want rafa, see earlier posts, I just didnt know there was any criteria for a new appointment.
  7. wouldnt say no! It isnt going to happen though is it? No, he's not keen on a return to Chelsea, he's on £10m a year as Russia's coach and in no rush to leave Turkey's coach I think you'll find and he wont be coming to Villa.
  8. Do you think people want another St.Martin?

  10. I can honestly see thousands staying away if fsw was appointed.
  11. I dont really subscribe to this 'Premier League experience' thing. Its just putting themselves under constraint. None of the current top 4 managers had prem experience before joining their present clubs.
  12. He said 'too close' to O'Neill, which I take to mean they are friends.
  13. Not according to this isnt Odds checker Sky bet have Moyes even money.
  14. Half your backline has already gone to AC Milan. Has Clarky gone...**** sake...
  15. I havent seen much of Norwich all season apart from the football league show. I shouted Lambert along with McClaren in January as I couldnt see us getting anyone else at the time. I still think the choices are far from abundant as some seem to think. Recently a Norwich supporter was on five live extolling the virtues of Paul Lambert and he said that he was a tactical genius, changing the set up and formation up to five times in a game. All the players knowing their jobs and what was expected of them. Amoung the realistic choices I think I'd prefer Lambert. A Glaswegian who doesnt stand any bollocks from overpaid, over rated players and at 41 years old he would be able to have a (hopefully) long and successful career with us. A gamble....no I dont think he would be.
  16. He played the first half practically inside Walker, very narrow, not on the wing. The second half they changed it to Downing on the left, where he didnt get any joy either. He had 5 shots two blocked and 3 not on target. He's a good player but he needs things to fall right for him. In fairness to him there were vast amounts of the game where none of them seemed to know what to do.
  17. I've played British Bulldog with a certain amount of style and panache. Quite good that....
  18. Have I missed something ? who said he's a nail on?
  19. Its 18m with conditional add ons.
  20. No way. Hughes is high on the list Ranieri no in every way.
  21. Dont lump everyone in with the English defence league.
  22. I don't really think that would do anything. Paul Lambert could be classed as an "exciting young manager" but I doubt the club appointing him would do anything to raise ticket sales. It needs to be a fairly big name - someone like Jol, Moyes or Ancelotti. I don't really know what big names are out there but it has to be someone of that ilk. A good summer with regards to transfers would help too. No I dont think it would raise ticket sales either which is why I said - alleviate, which means relieve or lessen.
  23. I thought that but the club dont like it. The terrible, cringing feeling when the Holte end start singing 'Empty seats my lord' and huge hails of laughter and derision wail out from the away support I could do without.
  24. ST's will be down whichever way you look at it. Thats just down to financial issues, economy and the prem charging extortionate rates. An exciting new, young manager would alleviate it somewhat but a firm decision needs to be made quickly. NB This season ticket holder does not want Europa league Thursday nights, Sunday prem games.
