  1. **** excuses....i dont need to give one ...they get enough of my time and money.
  2. 4-3-3 with an interesting midfield triangle - from wm
  3. Will Gerard wear a scarf? and which one ? if its the vertical stripey one I'll buy it.
  4. OBE's post was spot on about the ref. Blimey we get bad refs or what? Our midfield are getting flakier, by the second half some were hiding on the pitch and in turn the defence are are getting twitchy. Warnock played well.
  5. Agreed. Which means once Delp is fit (not forgetting Gardner) he'll have to go out and buy 2, not to mention the striker........... ......a real striker ..think of that!! We have one, a perfectly capable lone striker in Agbonlahor. yeah apart from him

  7. France Football's London correspondant Phillipe Auclair reckons Houllier is an inspired choice for Villa. Encouraging words indeed. Was Auclair the one who wrote the Cantona biography? He knows his onions that chap. An English/British equivelent of France Football would be nice.
  8. I agree largely with what you say. Houllier is the best we can get at the moment. While I'm not completely stoic on the issue, I can only imagine there are extenuating circumstances that all have had to work round.
  9. How is it acting like c*nts? Other clubs appoint people currently employed and pay compensation for them to be released from their contract early. Is every other club acting like a word removed? On the basis that it is Houlliers choice to work the notice, would you have looked elsewhere/ employed somone else because of that choice? Is it likely that he'd have turned down a £2m a year job for one that pays a tenth of that if we'd have insisted that he start immediately? Well I wouldnt, I dont know about Houllier. Is the fact the board may have agreed to the notice period the bit that bugs you? I do see the argument that if Houllier was in charge Monday night it could well have been a different result.

  11. Some of us may not but Houllier may be bothered. Two questions 1) Would you prefer Paul Lambert as manager within 10 days of the leprechaun resigning or M.Houllier in this scenario? 2) Do you go to Aston Villa games? 1) Ah the old "please choose between something really shit and what we've actually got, no other outcomes are possible" gambit. Childish in the extreme. 2) Yes I do, although not nearly as many as I'd like to given where I live. I don't see what that's go to with anything mind. Why have you gone all defensive again? Fill in Lambert with your choice if you wish but the 'realistic target' then comes into play. I was merely trying to expand the debate. Moyes was in Lamberts position 8 years ago. No relevance other than I've been asking for 6 months. NB there is no bigger fan thing as I'm a lesser fan.
  12. Relevance? :? When I ask you the question l'll let you know

  14. There is the view that M.Houllier is a patriot and does see that working his notice is doing the right thing. French national football is going through a sticky patch and he possibly didnt want to leave them in the lurch. All in all the word is Gerard will be in situ by the Blackburn game and it has been deemed a nominal length of time for both parties. If it means the diplomacy will stand us in good stead with the FFF and we get first pick on the next Zidane, it will be seen as clever work.
  15. What? :? He's suggesting that as a club we are taking an exagerated stance in doing the 'right' or 'honourable' thing by letting Houllier work notice. His analogy being Milner wated more money and left but because we are taking Corinthian attitiude we wouldnt sign a player from say Bournmouth, a very good player desined for greatness, because it is deemed poor form. I dont subscribe to this viewpoint.
  16. You cant ask him to be 6th this season! He is at a bit of a disadvantage now.
  17. We keep our customers informed of things that concern them, yes. And I didn't say that it was of little consequence. I think it's hugely important, which is why I feel that Villa supporters have the right to know. Disclosure of something that is obviously delicate and could possibly be still in negotiation, would be silly, wouldnt it. Its certainly arguable of what benefit supporters would gain from the knowledge other than peace of mind. Edit - just out of interest are you a customer of AVFC?
  18. He isnt going to tell you Rumpole, is he!!? and I dont blame him. It doesnt make him in contempt of court by not doing so. If the General did know when Houllier was going to start, what would he have to lose by letting us know? I have to assume that he doesn't know. Does your company reveal all and sundry to any passing bod? To summise that it is either immaterial or of little consequence to what time line is in place for M.Houlliers employment is quite plainly wrong.

  20. I agree. I hope Houllier asserts but without the monumental ego.
  21. I think you'll find O'Neill wasnt the fulcrum but a spanner in the works. what that chap off the Good Life?
  22. Do they not know? or is the fact you dont know?
  23. Thats the crux of it. Spurious criticism of the board by people bored with their lives just doesnt wash. Ha ha! Talking of overreactions, you think that because people are fed up with the shambles that we currently find ourselves in, that they're "bored with their lives"! Well thank you Dr Freud, but my life is ace thanks, and pointing out how badly the club are handling things at the moment doesn't alter that fact. I dont think the majority of supporters believe the club to be run badly, nor it to be a shambles. I'm glad your life is 'ace', but I've got to say you dont come across as a happy bunny.
