  1. Kind of begs the question..."Whats the point exactly?" Surely there has to be an ultimate goal? Otherwise the whole thing becomes pointless, the motivation evaporates. It's like if you imagine a football match with no physical goals to aim at.. Just a pitch with 22 blokes running about ..the whole thing would simply decend into farce & everybody would lose interest & end up sitting down drinking squash or something. Is this the future for this club? If it is i would seriously have to question as to whether i would waste my money on that. The game is about achieving & winning not making up the numbers or becoming a training ground for players to develop in before they go to a "Proper club"... Whats all that about!? If that's what Randy Lerner wants then please get out of my club...Do one!
  2. Oh Lord! See this was said after tonights game "So.. we pick ourselves up...& Go Again!! Surprised he hasnt made a freudian slip as of yet & said "so .. we pick oursleves up .. & lose again"
  3. Looking worse & worse as each game passes. We now have 10 games (9 if you count Man U away as a certain loss) to get somewhere in the region of 14 to 16 points! Thats around 1.5 to 1.8 points per game or basically double our average thus far this season It would be frankly a miracle with this lot. Naivety cost us yet again & there is no way to fix that which is what worries me.
  4. What happened tonight epitomizes Villa at the moment in my eyes.. Way too much naivety & inexperience which will cost us regardless of who we are playing against as evidenced by losses to Championship teams, 4th tier teams, Wigan, Southampton, Newcastle + the dropping of points when in a winning position etc etc etc The problem for me is that simple & there is no quick fix for it. Experience comes with time nothing else & that for me is why we will most likely go down sadly. No matter what Paul Lambert or anybody else does you simply cannot teach experience. We now need a 100% improvement in the points per game average compared to the first 2/3 of the season to survive.. I just cannot see that happening.
  5. Yup that was our chance to take a little pressure off the next two & very unsurprisingly we missed it.. Now we cannot lose & have to win at least one against either Reading or QPR or else that's it for me... Draw both & we will have to beat either Chelsea, Man U or Liverpool to regain the lost ground which i think we all know ain't gonna happen.
  6. He is very wealthy.. Worth around 17.7 Billion in 2012 according to Forbes.. Someone posted he owns Reuters or something the other day?
  7. Well if we did get relegated & lost Benteke then he could do some damage at that level.
  8. Just looking & the potential fixture list for next season in the Prem compared to one in the Championship makes for quite interesting reading in my opinion. It looks as though the promoted teams will be from Cardiff, Watford, Hull, Palace, Brighton or Leicester & i have to say that the "big" games in the Prem would be few & far between Outside of Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton & Spurs & maybe Newcastle you only really have the falsely placed Man City & Chelsea (due to ridiculously rich owners)... Other than that it's very much ordinary. Compared to the Championship which lets suppose we got relegated would include fixtures against: Sha, Forest, Leeds, Derby, Blackpool, Bolton, Blackburn, Middlesborough & Possibly Wolves, QPR.. Compared to: Hull, Watford, Swansea, Fulham, Cardiff, Palace, Wigan, Stoke, Sunderland, Norwich etc.. Ok we would miss the "big 8" fixtures or 16 "big" games but for me the rest would be arguably more "attractive" fixtures than the Prem ones. . Having said that obvioulsy i want us to stay up of course for the good of the club.
  9. I think we'll finish pretty much level with QPR so that was huge for them yesterday... We now have to beat them & you can guarantee Redknap will have us down as the most vital win of the season for them. They will be right up for that one & for me we have three wars upcoming.. Them Reading & Wigan with the Sunderland/ MON game shaping up to be not far behind too. Win those 4 & well we have a right chance but i can't see that.
  10. We will be playing Albion in 2-3 seasons... Burton Albion that is! O Lord don't say that
  11. Thing is if we can somehow at least draw at Reading & beat QPR then i would regain a bit of hope. I have us down for draws in those two in my predictions for the remaining games which for the record go like this Man City (h) lose 1-4 Reading (a) 2-2 QPR (h) 1-1 Liverpool (h) lose 0-3 Stoke (a) 1-1 Fulham (h) win 2-1 Man u (a) lose 4-0 Sunderland (h) win 3-2 Norwich (a) 2-2 Chelsea (h) Lose 1-3 Wigan (a) 3-3 Total 35 pts Started this prior to Newcastle (h) & so far i have only gotten the Everton (a) & Newcastle (h) results the wrong way round as i had us to Lose to Everton & draw with Newcastle. Thing is if we lose to either Reading, QPR or Wigan we are pretty much doomed for me!
  12. Not optimistic at all..wish i could be as i hate being full of doom & gloom.. I try to look quite positively at life generally but with the Villa that's just not possible at the moment. I feel we do have very good spells in games on occasion but regardless of how well we do it is consistently destroyed by naivety & inexperience. Hence the countless surrendering of games from winning positions. I just don't think this can be sorted out in time.. Certainly won't happen this season & that for me is that sadly. Dreading the game on Monday & the QPR one..One hammering & one sickening defeat for me.
  13. Certain loss for me on Monday. Won't even bother watching it in all fairness as sick to death of watching us lose now it's gotten boring. Think i'll watch the London derby tomorrow instead.. At least i can just watch a game then without it ruining my day & putting me in a foul mood for yet another week...I actually detest watching us at the moment how sad is that! I feel like i've had a male version of PMT for 3 years solid!
  14. If its City we're playing we may be better off looking who the linesmen are
  15. So it's more & more looking like 3 from QPR, Reading, Villa, Southampton, WIgan.. The rest are getting a bit too far away now..Thats surely safety now for West Ham Very bad results for us the QPR & West Ham wins... we have to beat QPR no question for me..a draw is no good. So i now make it this based on my forceasts in the remaining fixtures Newcastle .....46 pts Norwich..........44 pts Southampton..42 pts Sunderland ...42 pts West Ham......41 pts Wigan.............37 pts QPR................35 pts Villa................35 pts Reading..........33 pts
  16. Did we? That's news to me Well obviously we didn't actually "break the bank" but we are reducing wages in swathes at the moment & clearing out high earners & we still made a loss of 17.7m i believe? So thats hardly gonna result in us breaking the bank to keep any player is it? & thats what i meant.
  17. I Actually rate him & think he will get better & better.. He has that ability to snatch a goal from nowhere & although he still misses a fair amount of sitters that will improve the more he plays, you would hope anyhow. We should break the bank to keep him in my opinion....Oh Hang on!..We already did that ... Break the bank i mean!
  18. Worth around $23 Billion.. Big into Hockey i believe Edit that according to Forbes it is now $17.5 Billion Sounds like pure BS Sure does CI
  19. Lol!.. Love your passion Tayls!!
  20. Worth around $23 Billion.. Big into Hockey i believe Edit that according to Forbes it is now $17.5 Billion
  21. Was watching SSN good morning thing earlier... Said it all when they were previewing the weekends fixtures & the pundit was forecasting results. He went through them all carefully giving his reasons as to who would win & why......Then they lastly came to Villa v Man City... Both laughed & simply said ...."erm City" ... They are literally laughing at this club.
  22. Still think it's all over bar the shouting pretty much.. We are way too inexperienced & naive & with the mental toughness being so fragile too i just cannot see us getting out of it i really can't. Key factors in the disgrace of a season are 1. Dunne's season long absence coupled with Vlaar not quite hitting the heights. 2. An over reliance on youth to an absolutely ridiculous extent leaving us exposed at the back & in midfield with no options when things went wrong. 3. A lack of proper investment in January especially in defence when it was so obvious that we were struggling back there. 4. An absent chairman... What an awful signal that sends to the players...And fans Positives: Benteke (although he will no doubt be off when we go down), Westwood, Weimann, Baker. Negatives: Endless Summary = Pathetic
  23. I still think we will see a resurgence from QPR at some point.. Just depends whether it comes in time or not but whatever happens we cannot lose that game.. I would honestly be pleased with a draw against them.. They have some very good players & a manager with experience of these situations.
  24. Indeed & would most likely have given Heskey a contract extension of 10 years!
  25. Just re-listened to Gary Neville's assessment of us & you can't help but agree with a lot of what he says... That this team as it stands would struggle to cope with the more physical Championship. The kids would just be bullied out of it & we would likely struggle. ..He did also state that we would need to change our policy & buy some more toughened experienced pro's... This i cannot disagree with. As for a last day battle with Wigan for survival? Well we have already lost every major battle we have faced pretty much this season & Wigan are the masters of last day battles so i would not fancy this bunch at all in that.
