  1. Not counting any chickens & why oh why didn't this get sorted a few weeks back but we were desperate for something to lift spirits & fill that chasm in midfield so my prayer mat is back out.
  2. See thats just typical... Thats how you come back from 0-2. It just gets worse & worse
  3. Ok so lets say the dreaded happened & we go down... Which i think it's fair to say is now looking like a virtual certainty. To survive some almost impossible things have got to happen. 1.We have to win 6 games from 14 or at least 5 wins & a few draws & even that may not be enough (38 points). 2. It would take one of the biggest upturns in form & luck ever..very unlikely. 3. Our players who have no confidence would have to suddenly find some from somewhere... fast! 4. We need around 18-20 points minimum from 14 games so we need to almost double our average points haulage from the season thus far. 5. We have to do this with no new signings. For me we need to win at Goodison to have any chance. So suppose we do get relegated.... Would we be the richest club outside the Premier League? surely we would?
  4. We can all see this.. it's a certain Yank that apparently chooses to ignore that. His issue being what if he spends the money & we go down anyway? Then we are in an even worse position.. So it "appears" that the idea is we try to stay up with what we've got otherwise........!! With the games we have left there are just about enough "winnable" games left for us to by the skin of our teeth survive.. The Newcastle game was our only room for error & very unsurprisingly we lost...(again) now we have 8 "winnable" games left & we need 6 wins from those... Not gonna happen whether we sign a DM or not in my opinion & it appears Randy decided this weeks ago too hence the "fear" to invest / increase the wages. Add to this of course that not that many decent players appear to be available & of those who are why the heck would they come here ahead of say Newcastle? Sissoko being a case in point! Add to that we can forget poaching any players off the 8 or so teams around us as why would they strengthen us when they may stay up at our expense? All over bar the shouting i fear.
  5. Normally i'd agree with that but for me this lot are now completely shot. Thinking about it, right from the Everton home defeat right at the start of the season their players were saying they were really worried by how poor we were & nothing has really changed apart from a freak result at Anfield & a few cup wins against weakened teams in the main.,, We are simply not improving & that is really worrying.
  6. Well i for one have genuinely given up on this team.. Won't be going at all to any more games..Why would i pay to be repeatedly embarrassed & depressed? We are almost certainly going down now you just cannot sustain this many defeats against the worst teams in the division & not go down. Having said that the Premier League is so full of crap clubs at the minute in some ways i won't miss it.. Wigan, Stoke, Reading, Norwich, QPR, Fulham, West Brom, Sunderland, Southampton, etc etc? Hardly gets the pulses racing does it? & when you play the Sky 4 you always get a biased official or 2 anyways so whats the point exactly? In the Championship we will have Wolves, Sha, Forest, Leeds, Derby, Blackpool, Blackburn, Bolton, Cardiff etc & to be honest i;d find some of those games more interesting than the Premier League ones. Ok we won't play Man U, Man City etc but we are not competing in the same World as them anyway. Maybe we'll still get them in a cup game or something too if you really want to see us battered by them as normal. Of course i'd prefer to see us stay up but it ain't gonna happen.
  7. Agree it's too late now.. 6 wins & a couple of draws we need & we have already had the "easy fixtures"... We lost... All of them at home too. Now our only real chance of points are Reading (a) Qpr (h) Stoke (a) Wigan (a) Norwich (a) Fulham (h) Sunderland (h) West Ham (h) By my reckoning we now need 6 wins & 2 draws from those games to hit 40 points & frankly... Not a cat in hells chance! We have won what 4 games in a year or something? Now we are supposed to suddenly win 6 draw 2 & lose 6 from 14? All the other games are 90% certainty losses against the likes of City, Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea & Liverpool etc.
  8. Maybe we should sign mini me to partner him?
  9. Randy i have a great idea for a new club sponsor.. You know as we'll need one with all the others running a mile due to not wanting to be associated with such a poor brand as Aston Villa. Yes i reckon if you give Jongleurs a call they'd be well up for it! Think about it!.. The perfect match Aston Villa + Jongleurs "Laugh a minute" "comedy gold" the possibilities are endless!
  10. Can't be arsed .. obvious we won't do it.. ...................Now whats on telly?.. anything apart from anything Villa related.
  11. Lambert has a lot to answer for with that formation in the 1st half
  12. Sign of a good team is when they play badly & still win Sign of a relegation candidate is when they play "well" & still lose. We have played as well as this shower is capable of in the second half & have lost again.. says it all for me.
  13. They simply can't do it.. that much is obvious.. They aren't even remotely close!..This is by far the worst run from a Villa side i can ever remember in over 35 years of supporting them.. Utter utter shite! To get no reaction whatsoever after the embarrassment of the last what, 8 or 9 games? Is a disgrace & those players should be ashamed of themselves.
  14. How did it go? "We must sweat blood against Newcastle" Lol! Whatever!!! As i said this lot "talk the talk" but "walk the walk" about as well as a new born giraffe
  15. For me KEA's failure to fill Petrov's boots is a "key" reason why we are where we are. He is the guy out of all the signings who we needed to come good quickly as we have no other real alternative & Petrov was a big big player for us. This has left a gaping hole in the DM position. Vlaar was the other big one having lost Cuellar, Collins & Dunne through injury & sadly he hasn't quite come up to scratch either & has been rather injury prone too.... Of course Dunne's incredibly long absence hasn't helped either & it's no coincidence with these three things combined that we are weak in defence & Midfield. These 3 are key parts of the teams spine & to have them all missing / out of form is too much to overcome .. hence we are crap!
  16. Hutton / Warnock out on loan = someone in on loan maybe?? Equivalent "loan" wages are freed up?
  17. Thats the issue isn't it He will not increase the wage bill.. I guess players out on loan don't count (Hutton) as they might end up back here in a few months time at seasons end.. So this is the issue. In fairness this is always what the General used to say too... The transfer fees not an issue as such just the wage bill. Trouble is by the time the wage bill clears it will probably be too late... Then presumably we have to lower it still further to account for the Championship. Very weird. Especially as all those we are competing against for survival have taken the opposite route & are spending. Talk about being hung out to dry!
  18. Mentally prepared for yet another home disaster. 1-4 in my book Typical Villa that we play a weak side bang out of form just as they have strengthened. You can't help but "hope" that they have a 1st day collapse or something but the reality is they will most likely stuff us out of sight with them being out to impress each other & make a good impression & our lot collapsing without so much as a whimper as usual as soon as they score. The sad thing is even if we are 2-0 up if they just score 1 goal we implode. Hence 1-4 to them & more flimsy excuses. Sissoko et al will have a field day in our pathetic midfield. I can't even bear to watch it in all honesty. Only chance we have for me is if we go 3-0 up & they have 2 men sent off.. then we might scrape a draw.

  20. So i see the usual pre match drum beating is going on again lol! " We must sweat blood against Newcastle" blah blah blah lol! I'll say it again... You either "talk the talk" or you "walk the walk" It appears our lot are very good at the first of those two options... Do the talking on the pitch for goodness sake!
