  1. You've got to remember firstly that the team was build with lower league players, and the team scored the 5th most goals in the league from counter attacks. The style was direct and played to the teams strengths. Back on topic, I'd absolutely love Carroll, personally I think Rodgers is mad not to change his style of play to suit Carroll.
  2. Third, Keano had 3 goals in 5(1) games.
  3. Just to paint a more complete picture, City averaged 504, 51, 22 8.
  4. Norwich averaged 339 short passes per game at a rate of 77%, 75 long balls per game at a rate of 17% and 23 crosses per game at a rate of 5%. Villa averaged 297 short passes per game at a rate of 77%, 63 long balls per game at a rate of 16% and 22 crosses per game at a rate of 6% & 2 through balls per game at a rate of 0% per game.
  5. Norwich averaged 46.2% possession (47.2% at home, 45.2% away) . We were 45.8% on average (48.2% at home & 43.5% away). However Norwich were 9th in pass completion in the League.
  6. Some deluded chairman is going to look at his Cv and see a league cup and 2 SPL titles and say "you're hired". He'll have the whole conditions became interolable at Blues, & injuries/fans on my back at Villa and he'll still look highly employable.
  7. I gone and fixed that fer ya Thanks BOF
  8. This might be the most ridiculous sentence I've ever seen. I think that part deserves... Sorry mods for dragging up an old thread, didn't know where else to put the article. Just consider that first bit on it's own. "not every villa fan will agree I did a marvellous job..." Mental If we're going to look at it like that. He said "every villa fan will agree I did a marvellous job" Crazy!
  9. Could we sue Spurs in accordance with the trades description act?
  10. Could Stoke afford his wages? I said day 1, he seemed like a Tony Pulis player. I reckon now he'll end up on load at Blackburn with us paying half his wages, should just get rid and send him off to Newco.
  11. West Ham ruling themselves out for both Carroll & Berba.
  12. Somethings got to be close, or else it was just a case of it'll be harder to find a club for him if he's in USA. I think thats a very generous assessment. The subtext from the Lambert interview was pretty clear. "He's shite. I ain't picking him. He can leave for tuppence ha'penny and a packet of cheese and onion". Probably right, we can dream though
  13. The threads locked so post it here instead from Sky. Rennes midfielder Tongo Doumbia has revealed his disappointment after the collapse of his proposed move to West Brom.
  14. Killgallon linked to Blackburn with Collins coming in for him, as people said it's an easy link to make, with the Mon connection & Vlaar.
  15. Somethings got to be close, or else it was just a case of it'll be harder to find a club for him if he's in USA.
  16. 3 places, you're forgetting that all Mon centre backs are also right backs
  17. Can we set up a rota for villa park tours so we can be ahead of the curve on new signings?
  18. Yup 1. Sopranos 2. Breaking Bad 3. The Wire
  19. I more or less agree with your opinion of what would constitute success next year. Personally I'd like to look at it in points, way I see it I'd like us to win at least 8 games at home, not lose more than 5 at home, win at least 5 away, lose no more than 8 away. Think that would put us on 51 points, ideally Id want that minimum, but some years the league can be very tight and only a few points seperating 6 and 16th.
  20. Do you know when we sign a player from another country, does he have to sort flights and stuff himself or would someone on our end sort all that? Bit of a silly question I know but im bored.
  21. I wrote this in my opening post: I only forgot to mention that he has a good long shot/ powerful free-kick on him as well. He is 27 years old, good with both feet and long range passes to wingers and strong in the air. Physically he is quite similar to Richard Dunne...not very quick when he needs to turn but okay with pace when running in a straight line. Sounds a bit like Alex to me.
  22. Would advise anyone wanting to stay spoiler free to stay away from that bastard David Letterman and Anne Hathaways interview from last night.
