  1. The head gasket is a high pressure seal between the cylinder head and the engine block. It's a bastard to do on most modern cars without specialist tools and requires a shit load of labour and technical knowledge. Wouldn't hurt to 'test the water', though.
  2. Not enough regular posters on VT to influence anything, but hey-ho, stick me down. I want that pathetic excuse for a manager out as much as anyone. Love, Shambles (Matt).
  3. It's because he's playing too deep. He's an attacking player and wants to attack. If you stuck him just behind 2 strikers, or wide on the left with a license to get forward, you'd see a different player.
  4. You missed out the bit where you explained how Heskey had ANYTHING to do with the third goal. I mean, that's just silly. It's not. The blokes been nothing but a Jonah for this side since the day he arrived.
  5. God, yeah, I'd forgotten the subterranean bits.
  6. I miss the old Bull Ring. Used to go every Saturday with my nan. We'd have a walk round town, then get some chips from the chippy that was at the top of the steps above the fruit and veg market. It was ace, because you could put your own salt and vinegar on them. Then we'd go into the indoor markets so she could do her shopping. She was on first name terms with the owners of her favorite stalls. She went to Alan (the butcher and fishmongers) wedding. He'd always tell her what was good this week and not so good and he'd always have saved her something. I used to like looking at the live crabs. Them days are gone forever.
  7. If I remember rightly, we changed the whole setup of the team to fit him in. I'm sure we were playing a 4-5-1 which was turning into a 4-3-3 when we had the ball and had us champions league bound. Heskey turns up, we go 4-4-2, we drop like a stone.
  8. The kids confidence is on the floor FFS. God knows what it must feel like to be in that dressing room being bollocked by that ginger prick, sat there knowing the real problem is him and his sidekicks pathetically inept management.
  9. Good goal from Arteta there. Best goal I've seen this season, a belter.
  10. This whole season?? He was our best player by miles before December. We'd be deep in the relegation zone without what he did. I can't think why a centre forward would struggle with being shoved out wide and told defence is more of a priority than attack. :?
  11. Whatever they're doing in training, it's not working. We can't pass, shoot, dribble, cross, tackle, it's awful. We're naive, have no fight, give the ball away too cheaply, the list of negative traits in this team is endless.
  12. I'm disappointed in this. Not so much in the player, but mainly because this would seem to indicate McLeish will be the manager come kick off next season.
  13. When there are people like Trent Villa refusing to offer praise to him when we win, what chance does he have. If he keeps winning matches opinions like TV's become irrelevant, let's hope for the sake of the club he can follow this win with another against Bolton. He wont keep winning matches though. Every time it looks like he's one defeat away from being dismissed we scrape a win. Let's not forget that had we not won today, it would have been our worst run at Villa Park in 90-odd years. Today, we did not win because of his decisions, we won in spite of them.
  14. Blimey, square pegs in square holes. Shame it's taken an injury crisis for us to get a team like that put out. The most important thing is for the entire team to push up and not start dropping deep and inviting pressure on ourselves. Blackburn have some decent players and they will hurt us. The only gripe I have about the selection is Herd coming straight back into the team. I don't think any team should have 2 'stoppers' and I'd rather have seen someone with a bit more technical ability alongside Ireland.
  15. Ha ha, come on Ivanhoe, lad. Take your natural place out on the left wing. /facepalm
  16. Another day, another game, another piss poor 'performance'. Fed up of seeing us meekly surrender possession and get slaughtered for 90 minutes. Citeh didn't have get out of 3rd gear for most of that game. I **** hate Gary Neville, but he nailed it after about 15 minutes when he said that we weren't pressuring Man City at all, we were giving them far too much time and space, and content to sit with 11 men behind the ball. My biggest concern is that we've got some promising players at this club and his negative tactics ineptness could potentially wreck their careers, not to mention send the club down.
  17. I'm fed up of writing this, but if we keep inviting the opposition onto us, eventually we will concede, and by the same token, we will restrict our chances to score. It's not rocket science. We've proven this in pretty much every game we've played this season (as if it needed to be proved) and still we're persisting with keeping 11 men behind the ball, and making the oppositions life easier.
