  1. Routine win against very, very weak opposition. FFS, they started the game without a centre forward! 2 James Collins hoof balls in the first 5 minutes didn't bode well, and the first half was pretty dire bar a lovely pass from Petrov to free Albrighton (our liveliest player) to drill home the first goal. Ireland showed glimpses of ability, but's it's like seeing a glimpse of Holly Willoughbys knickers. You're desperate to see more, and you know it'll be worth it, but you also know you never will. The defence was shaky all night, and attacking-wise, we looked better when Heskey came off. Let's hope he doesn't hurry back. Overall, you have to say job done, but we made it difficult for ourselves for long stretches, not least with a moronic Dunne backpass, and a Warnock handball. The scoreline flattered us to a degree.
  2. I bought my iMac in December after years of being a staunch PC owner. I'm very happy with it. It's a 21.5" and it cost me £840 in a sale at Makro (same model was a grand on Apples website). Best thing about it so far is the screen, which is simply gorgeous. Build quality initially feels alot better too, but lets see how the next few years go.
  3. Wow, credit to the manager and players. They deserved that today.
  4. Comedy defending from a corner again. Here's hoping it's not Stokes night.
  5. Best chance of the game there, good save from Sorensen.
  6. Not sure it was a good idea putting Delfouneso on though.
  7. this is where, unfortunately, an agenda before a game (to come out with the same old Heskey rubbish) makes people look foolish. Heskey's clearly been our best player tonight, HAS linked the midfield and attack more than anyone, and he's also hit the post. Working very hard and definitely having as big an influence on the game as anyone. I'll have a half of whatever you're drinking.
  8. Hang on, they've just quoted McGimp as saying 'I work with Aston Villa, not for Aston Villa'. What does the clearing in the woods mean by that?
  9. I'd like to see Heskey off for Bannan at HT. There's no cohesion between the midfield and attack when he plays.
  10. **** me, over 35 mins of football and not 1 shot on target from either team.
  11. Free header for Huth there, could and should have been 1-0 down.
  12. N'Zogbia needs to lay with people who like to play football and a have a vague sense of awareness while on the pitch.
  13. If Eck hadn't taken the filth down twice, I'd be sure he was on a wind up. Our two most ineffective players, both of whom have been crap for ages and are walking liabilities, both of whom missed the last game (when we looked bloody good without them)have just strolled back into the team. Unbelievable.
  14. Looks good to me, if we're on our game on Monday night we could absolutely rape Stoke on the counter-attack. Clarke will get murdered at CB v Stoke. I'd rather keep Cuellar and Dunne together and see if either Clark or Warnock fancied playing RB.
  15. It's going to be like Gary Cahill all over again. McLeish will sell him to Wigan or similar for about £1.5 million and use the money towards paying over the odds for Steven Davis. GG, away from the shackles of such an oppressive regime will flourish and end up playing for a top team like Cahill will by the end of this season.
  16. Therein lies the problem. We have no choice, and for me, that is unacceptable. Individuals like Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, Prince Andrew and his whole family and all the rest of the hangers-on having their lives of leisure funded by the taxpayer makes me sick.
  17. Part zero actually. The events of The Hobbit take place before LotR, the book was released before the LotR trilogy. The Hobbit remains the only Tolkien book I have ever read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Been a good 15 years since I read it though, so I have forgotten pretty much everything that happens! The Lord of the Rings is one of my favourite books I have ever read and I have fond memories of the Hobbit reading it as a kid. I found the movies to be pretty cringe worthy and kitschy and I don't think I could put myself through it again for the Hobbit but the missus is keen so I will probably end up stumping up the cash. Feel pretty much like you, thought the LOTR films have been cheesy, and dumbed down. Love Tolkiens work, especially The Silmarillion. I think that stories like Beren and Luthien, The children of Hurin and the Elves leaving Valinor after it was ravaged by Melkor and Ungoliant would make much better films than LOTR given the right writers and director.
  18. eh? Gabby has had 3 chances, Ireland one..... Are you watching this? 1 chance, 3 half chances and 0 goals in 45 minutes. At least we look like we give a shit today though tbf.
  19. Should have been 2-0 then. For all Villas industry we've created very little really. Gabby is very isolated.
  20. I hope it's a cricket score to Arsenal. I've accepted that we need to go backwards in order to go forwards and to be honest, I hate what Aston Villa is becoming. We've got players who I don't like, a manager who I resent, a CEO who is a prick and a Chairman who doesn't appear to give a ****.
  21. Courtesy of dreamlander on the F365 forum; our tactics.
  22. **** me, i agree with you  This is Villatalk, not adultfriendfinder mate.
  23. I didn't even watch, let alone go to the game; I went to the Black Country museum for a 'Santa Hunt' guided tour. My ratings are thus: Tour guide - 7 Started well, but lagged in the final 3rd. Coach driver - 7 Played his part well, buts a mark knocked off for saying the word 'sod' in front of a load of little kids. Coal Mine proprieter - 8 Made some great jokes about 'nutty slack'. School Teacher - 6 Not disciplined enough. Woman in house - 6 Getting too old for this game Woman in cake shop 7 mmmmm cake. Blacksmith - 10 showed us how to make a reindeer shoe. Some skillful touches. Woman in street - 7 Nice tits, but didn't do much. Man in National Elf Centre - 8 Really funny guy. Very entertaining. Father Christmas - 7 He was big and fat but the beard was clearly not real. Good with the kids though Chips - 11 MOTM. Fried in beef dripping. Outstanding. In conclusion, I'm glad I didn't watch the football, this was much better. Would recommend to anyone with youngish kids.
  24. just been reading some comments on The Guardian page on the match. Other fans are certainly noticing just how shite and hopeless we are under McLeish. It's awful. You should see what people are saying on the F365 forum, we're a **** joke.
  25. We haven't won a trophy for 16 years. The only people that think we're a giant of a club any more are our own fans. Meanwhile, my son and his friends all want to watch Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool and not Aston Villa. It's not Randy's fault. We just missed the boat by about a decade. Hopefully, the European super league will come along in a few years, taking the Sky 6 with it, and we can compete for something other than being the best of the rest again.
