    Weather...

I feel your pain. I'm half-tempted to buy a big drum to shove on my terrace area. Fill it with water and sit in it for a bit to cool down. If anyone asks, it's a rain collector to save the planet.
  2. Indeed and they're also meant to be holding talks with Putin (spit) in St Petersburg tomorrow.
  3. This isn't even the managing agent. It is the regional Housing Association who I pay rent to (as I'm on a part-buy, part-rent deal). It beggars belief how they can be so inept.
  4. Trying to get a service charge refund I'm due is like getting blood out of a stone. I first rang them in March after receiving a letter stating I'm due funds. "Oh sorry, it looks like we've sent the letter out early. Leave it with us, we'll process payment at the start of April". Nothing appeared in April, so I rang them again at the start of May. "Oh yes, I can see you're due a refund. Please let me confirm your bank details" (reading it out to me). "It will be processed in about 2 weeks". Great, I thought. Still nothing so I rang them again today. "I'm sorry, it looks like the person dealing with your account has left. Let me process it for you. It can take 2 weeks". Give me my £2K you gits!

    General Chat

Okay, quoting myself is bad form but stating EVERYTHING was closed was a bit far-fetched looking back. There were places open, just not what you wanted to have open (for us) as off-season. Not sure where my mate ended up to have that too. Ah well - hopefully the island will have a good summer.

    General Chat

I've been a few times to the IOW (seeing as I live close to the ferry port and hovercraft). I drove my folks around there in a day during the summer once. That was lovely, quick little stop offs everywhere with good food and nice(ish) scenery. I also took them over to Ryde to jump on the little train and the day on steam train. That was lovely again - really simple and easy to get there on the hovercraft (10 minutes from Southsea). I then took my sister and brother-in-law there just before Christmas. They were down to see me for a few days and we thought "well it'll be different". It certainly was - EVERYTHING was closed. The highlight was getting on board the ferry back to Portsmouth. We were freezing and wet for the most part too. My mate also visited once and took his girlfriend over for 3 nights just to have a nosey around (around March-time if I recall). Again, EVERYTHING was closed. He asked the hotel they were staying at where's a nice place to go out for an evening meal and the response was "well there's a cafe that sells chips, might not be open though". I might not go back for a while.

    Weather...

Same here. I'm also tempted to buy big black-out blinds for every window / door in an attempt to keep the heat out when inevitably it'll reach colossal levels in the summer months again. My mate last year had all of his windows covered with lots of cardboard. Bit of a risk I thought but apparently his house was lovely and cool due to it.

    U.S. Politics

I don't think Biden showed classified documents to others repeatedly, actively tried to avoid detection by moving classified documents around (for Trump, down to his Mar-a-Lago estate) or lied by saying they were declassified before the latest bombshell. I doubt Biden also had rooms full of classified documents that if fell into the wrong hands could have harmed the US and its allies. I could be wrong about it all but they were stored in a bathroom / restroom! These aren't just classified documents, they are highly classified documents that detailed nuclear capabilities etc. He knew full well what he had and deceived everyone as best he could to make the claims go away. Don't forget that this is the guy who once said the US should leave NATO which in itself is quite disturbing. Get this dangerous menace locked away, and locked away soon.
  10. Trump likely going to jail. Boris and Nadine resigning. This is a lovely Friday my friends.
  11. Breaking news on Sky: Boris resigning as an MP*. *to start an affair with Nadine (maybe. Absolutely no facts behind this. Just my opinion. Maybe).
