  1. We've had a things that piss you off that shouldn't thread that went on for hundreds of pages. So I thought I'd start a more positive one. About things that cheer you up or make you feel good when you've been a bit down. If this makes it even 100th as long as the 'things that piss you off...' thread I'll be amazed! So anyway what's happened to you recently that's cheered you up or made you feel good. Anything really. From an unexpected phone call from someone you haven't heard from in ages, to finding a fiver in your jeans that you'd forgotten about. Maybe you've got a holiday to look forward to. Come on people let's have some positivity! I'll start us off. I go to Germany on Thursday for 9 days, followed by a day at the Notting Hill Carnival. Last weekend my best mate asked me to be best man at his wedding. I kind of thought that I would be anyway, it's was always going to be me or one other. But just to hear him say it felt good. And then to hear him tell his wife to be that there was no way he was getting married at the World Cup in Brazil if I wasn't going to be able to go (insurance issues relating to my illness, same as not being able to go to this World Cup). Finally after tomorrow I get four weeks off chemo, which will be great (especially as it means I'm off treatment for the Germany trip. So we've all got miserable things in our lives (me more than most probably) so come on, let's hear something good in your life or something that's cheered you up recently.
  2. Apparently it was just Bruce screwing up. Malbranque was running the game then randomly taken off. Good old Bruce...

When was the last time 3 midfielders scored in a match for us? Must have been a while.

Not a single vote for the sponsor's man of the match... says a lot really! Cracking performance from Marc Albrighton. Need to get the most out of him for the nex few games befofe the res of the prem catch on.
  5. Delph was 16/1 to get the first goal last night in the North Stand. Glad to see they do their research... Still not as bad as when they were offering odds on Harewood who was playing for Newcastle at the time...
  6. Not the greatest game really but a decent run out. Luke Young and Albrighton impressed. Carew started brightly then faded. Think Valencia will struggle this season with no Villa or Silva. Very little penetration without them.
  7. Somehow we've ended up with a club as a difficult as Spurs have in our playoffs. Bit of a joke.
  8. Cracking article that mate. Very good read.
  9. Stay. He's not perfect, but who is. The money isn't there to spend really, it probably was in previous years but not now, so I don't see who could do better with what we have.
  10. Is there a match report for this anywhere? OS and Newsnow don't seem to show one.
  11. I assumed everyone knew the very basics of gravity until I found out my Mum (who's in here 50s and an intelligent person) didn't the other day, and then today when speaking to someone else (another member of this forum actually) they didn't either. So I'm just wondering if they're in the minority or not? I assumed everyone understood the basics, obviously not. So if you drop two objects of the same size and shape but different weights from the same height which will hit the floor first? Please vote before looking at the results otherwise it makes it a bit pointless. It's all anonymous so you won't be making a fool of yourself!
  12. I know a guy who was Villa's mascot for a while a few years back (every other home game I think it was).
  13. Good touch for a big man. My favourite phrase in football, it's so ridiculous. In fact any phrase that ends "for a big man". My favourite though was the "that was a great turn for a big man" which Mark(?) Rogondino said about John Carew in the friendly against Toronto.
  14. Didn't know Bert Milichip lived down there. But then didn't know Jamelia did until the other day.
  15. Sixth I reckon. I don't think we'll be as close to fourth pointswise as this though.
  16. Yep I've signed up for £1 a month too. Surely everyone has a spare £1 a month? While I might sometimes struggle to scrape a tenner together to donate but I'll barely notice £1 a month out my account. I really struggle to believe anyone can use the "I don't have any money" argument now. Surely everyone doesn't know their spend each month to the nearest pound?
  17. Interesting to hear him talk about another club's players (McGeady). Didn't think that was his style, more a Harry thing.
  18. Is it just us manyoo and Arsenal with Nike kits in the prem now?
  19. I know a couple a of Ipswich fans and think he's absolute class and were very keen not to lose him when we were linked with him. Doesn't mean he's going to cut it in the prem but they've got a good record of bringing youngsters though.
  20. 5 words to that my friend... Stéphane Guivarc'h, World Cup Winner. On the same hand you could say that if they paid £27m (or whatever it was for Lescott) then Milner's probably worth £50m
  21. Thank god for that. If twe'd already seen the best I'd be rather concerned to say the least...
  22. I noticed the Guardian ran a similar poll yesterday and hte results today showed 92% were planning on watching on BBC. Viewing figures could be embarassing for ITV.
  23. Got to be BBC, can't believe a single person went for ITV. Maybe they can't get BBC.
  24. I was hoping there'd be some good jokes about that gunman but having had a look around none of them are Raoul Moatly funny.
