  1. How's Wheater done this season? Anyone know?
  2. Yeah I assume the people who voted Dunne as MOTM were joking. Wasn't a great performance, but we won and still have a chance of 4th. Can't ask for much more than that. Shame to see a bit of trouble not far from the North Stand on the walk to the ground. But then every club has its morons. It seemed to be mainly smurfs trying to wind up the police rather than any Villa involvement. Thought the police did a reasonable job really.
  3. It makes me think we could bring in another quick short striker to play alongside him rather than playing him alongside a target man, when he can do that role himself.
  4. That was the best I've seen Carlos play at right back. I'd still rather he wasn't played there, but tonight I really thought he had a good game.
  5. Phil Brown is still officially Hull manager and was listed as such in tonight's program.
  6. I don't know about 'very good' but he was certainly better than on Sunday which was encouraging. Good win, could have been more really. Bit of a dodgy spell in the middle but we got the job done. Bring on Sunday!
  7. If we're still 1-0 up at the end it's going to be a very nervy 6 or 7 minutes of injury time with us under massive pressure. Let's hope it doesn't come down to that...
  8. I'm guessing you knew that they meant to use your vote in your constituency to vote for change nationally. Well yes I do, but it specifically says vote for change in Bromsgrove:
  9. I got a leaflet through my door earlier from the Conservatives suggesting that I vote for change in my constituency. They seem to have forgotten that they are already in charge in my constituency. Ah well I'm happy to follow their advice and vote for someone else.
  10. Well if they paid over £20m for Lescott (think they did anyway), then surely Milner is worth a good £40m in their eyes.
  11. Just remembered something - Did anyone else notice that David James refused to shake Petrov's hand at the end of the game? I assume he thought Petrov dived on his penalty shout or something.
  12. Had a great weekend staying with my mate in Portsmouth, topped off with a nice win in the sunshine. Good atmosphere from us lot, really disappointing from them considering their reputation. Won't do an in depth analysis but I'd say Ashley was my MOTM with Milner a close second and Downing was poor But starting him on the right didn't help. Improved a bit on the left but really didn't have a good game. Journey back took best part of 6 hours thanks to signal failures, but always seems shorter after a win. edit: Just remembered the awful cheerleaders (they'd recorded their own chant before they danced (if it wasn't live, which I'm pretty sure it wasn't) and the Carson Yeung ate my dog chant
  13. This will be my first away game south of Birmingham. Always gone north before. Lookng forward to it.
  14. Most weeks that could easily be a Villa fan posting about Carew. Glad to see we're not the only one with a massively frustrating striker.
  15. Got away with it in the end. If we had lost that we'd had more than just Portsmouth's appeal to worry about for Europe next year. You've got to wonder what O'Neill told the defence to do with Tim Cahill at set pieces though. Not sure about the first goal but the second Ashley Young was marking him. ASHLEY YOUNG! He's their best header of the ball and we leave a midget on him. Stunning...
  16. Let me just get this clear. We thought Ashley young was an appropriate person to be marking their best header of the ball? We did? Ok.
  17. Kevin MacDonald has done a great job again. Future Villa manager possibly? How old is he, I don't know much about him (other than he's been around for years).
  18. Just been trying to find a train back after the game. Seems that the best option for getting back to Longbridge (via Birmingham int and New Street) takes more 5 hours and involves six changes. It's going to be the only way I think as can't stay an extra night as got to be in hospital the next morning. If anyone's driving back to Birmingham after the game and has space in the car (only on the way back, I'll be in Portsmouth already) let me know and I'll happily contribute towards petrol.
  19. It's a myth that the smurfs seem to have convinced people of. Because there's more Villa in the north of the city there must be loads of smurfs in the south. Well there's more in the south than in the north. But not more smurfs than Villa fans in my experience.
  20. Delighted to see you can travel again General, that's great news. Yesterday was the first time in my twenty-four years on the planet that I've seen Villa at Wembley, so was a proud day for me. We may have lost but it wasn't deserved, we were completely and utterly robbed. Anyway, thanks to you and Randy for making it possible. Hopefully we'll be there again next year and get some competent officials for a change.
  21. Has anyone changed how they'd vote based on anything said in the election campaign so far? I've seen nothing from anyone that would make me change my mind so far.
  22. Shocking. I'd like to say it's a one off but I feel it's been coming. Hopefully it's a wake-up call, to the board as much as anything. I think the cup runs are papering over a lot of cracks. I won't be voting for a MOTM for the simple reason that there can't be one when you've lost like this.
