  1. Now this is more of a question to see whether it is a bit of trivia but.... was today the first English cup final to feature two Bulgarians? I reckon it probably was, only because I can't think of another, I haven't looked into it.
  2. I know I say this pretty much every time he plays there but.... Cuellar is NOT right back and shouldn't (imo) play there. He doesn't offer enough going forward and isn't exactly a great defender out there either. Very good centre back, but not a right back by any stretch of the imagination. If he doesn't like Luke Young he should buy a new RB not just play others out of position there.
  3. Just got back. Didn't make it into the stadium though having been quoted £400 by touts for tickets. Watched in the pub. Heard on the way back that there were manyoo fans in the Villa end. That's ridiculous, they could have sold their tickets and bought ones in their own end for half the price. I'd have happily bought ones in the utd end and swapped with them.

    'A shed load'

It always amazes me how many people don't read the first post in a thread before wading into it. (Not aimed at anyone in particular, just a general comment)

    'A shed load'

Were you listening to Planet Rock? Because the guy on there this afternoon said the same thing, regarding a lorry load of springs I think he said No I've never listened to Planet Rock in my life to be honest. I listened to a traffic report on 5live which got me thinking about it.

    'A shed load'

Chindie's right. I'm well aware it can mean both. What I'm asking is where the phrase 'shed load' meaning 'a lot' came from?

    'A shed load'

I'd never really thought about this until today when I heard a traffic report on the radio. But I'd always assumed 'a shed load' (meaning a lot basically) was referring to a shed, as in the thing in your garden. Never considered that it might mean it as in the way a lorry might shed its load. So what are the origins of it? Anyone know?
  8. Any idea of where would be good to park as we're going to drive most of the way? Presumably quite a way away and get tube or train? Maybe even High Wycombe?
  9. Look what happened when we started singing that about Barry... Let's keep him to ourselves.
  10. Did anyone work out where Downing was meant to be playing today? He seemed to be very central a lot of the time but he hadn't swapped with Milner as he was still in the middle too.
  11. Not a great performance but a win is a win. Carew did well I thought, second half particularly, not sure he deserves the criticism he's getting. There were no particularly good performances really but one game away from another trip to Wembley. Getting boring isn't it?
  12. Didn't they concede last night ? They did, but not before I posted.
  13. Hi General, Another ticket related issue. Not a major one, just to do with the confirmation email you get after booking tickets. I'm able to attend the match tonight under my own steam due to it being in the right week of my treatment cycle. So I booked my tickets on Friday and received this email as confirmation (well this isn't the whole thing, but the delivery information): Now reading that how would you think I would get my tickets? To me it looks like they're getting delivered, espeicially looking at the bottom bit. And they were ordered more than 3 days before the game. What I now realise is that it's 3 working days and it needed to be before 5pm on Friday, which I wasn't sure whether I was before or not. I've now rung the ticket office as my tickets didn't arrive and they confirmed that I need to pick them. Again, not a problem, but I feel the email could be clearer. Can the system not automatically work out whether they'll be posted or you need to pick them up and include that in the email rather than put all that information in which can lead to confusion? Like I say, not a major problem but maybe something that could be looked into. Hope you get to catch the game somewhere tonight.
  14. He should become a winger or something, though I'm not sure he could cross it. He's got great touch, pretty quick, good at dribbling, he just can't shoot for toffee.
  15. Jerome and Benitez are definitely up there. Dropped Benitez for McFadden today I believe. Most of them hate him just as much.
  16. I can't think of a single palace player who'd get into our 2nd XI so I'd go with them... Though keeping a at least of the centre backs thinking about it (moving Cuellar inside probably) as Alan Lee could cause some of the youngsters a few problem.
  17. The General said they were expecting 29k.
  18. Good win, could and should have been more but a three goal win is just nice thanks very much. Downing MOTM. Bit dodgy first half, and I'd much prefer him on the left than the right as he can't cross with his right foot, but he got a couple of goals so you can't argue with that. I still think if we wanted a right winger we should have bought one and not him though.
  19. Not snowing here just outside Birmingham. I know it's not really expected for another 4 hours or so but I really can't see it being enough to have to call it off. Pitch should be fine just need to make sure they grit the pavements around VP not just the roads.
  20. We didn't "convert" Stan into a defensive midfielder, he was always one! He's always played that role for Bulgaria. If anything MON converted him to a more attacking role at Celtic Fair enough, wasn't aware of that.
  21. Well I'm going down and will be probably watching the game in a pub unfortunately due to some scamming word removed. I assume there'll be a fairly obvious place that the fans without tickets will end up at?
  22. If we want defensive midfielders we should buy them, not convert attacking midfielders into them like we have with Stan (as good as I think he is) and Delph. I think he'd do ok in a defensive role but it would be wasting him somewhat. He'd also pick up a huge amount of bookings.
  23. Maybe Carew will bother turn up and we'll play like we did against Bolton... or maybe not.
  24. Fulham have gone more than 7 hours of playing time without conceding since Gabby scored against them.
