  1. Have to say the club have charged sensible pricing in the Conference this year. This match should be box-office.
  2. I would be thinking of the 18th placed side.
  3. There is no way the season is actually going to finish in mid may. It will be in the law courts in the summer
  4. 10 points, now 6, could go up again. It's a joke.
  5. Euros? Has Brentford along with Greater London finally up sticks and has joined the eurozone?
  6. The twice replayed final, one at Hillsborough, and one at Old Trafford. Amazingly the Wembley final didn't even have extra time. An aggregate attendance of over 200,000- that will never be beaten.
  7. We must be the only club to have once lead on the most league titles, FA Cups and League Cups all at one time, only to be overtaken in all three.
  8. Plop have now won the league cup 10 times. Given it has been running for a little over 60 years that is nearly a win every half a dozen years. They really love a league cup.
  9. The league cup winner was a screamer. RIP to a Villa legend.
  10. I thought he did ok coming on today
  11. Had he gone in January I have no idea who we would have brought on today. I thought he did ok considering he came in cold with an entirely new centre defence partnership, other than the goal right at the start of the second half.
  12. Looked lively in his short time on the pitch. Had we kept it to 3-0 I suspect he might have had more like 10-15 min.
  13. Other than the silly goal conceding before half time and the 10-15 minute spell in the second half we controlled the game and deserved winners. Torres injury didn't help, hope it's not a bad one. Lenglet and Chambers is probably about our 3rd choice pairing so willing to give them some slack. They still have 18 international caps between them. Bailey enjoyed himself today, the progression from his previous flakey performances is night and day. Ramsey is slowly getting back to form and McGinn and Watkins do so much for the team its unreal. Overall a solid win despite a slight wobble and it was hilarious to hear that Fulham got a 97th-minute winner at Old Trafford. And the match finished in daylight. A good day.
  14. He was a good, but probably not a great keeper. More of a traditional shot-stopper so it's probably one of the reasons why Pep moved him on. I think it's harsh to be that negative on his career, his trophies and caps for England speak for themselves. Personally, I don't think England has had a really top-class keeper since old Dave big hands Seaman, with James, Robinsion, Hart and Pickford just below that level. I still remember he did a really late blinding save versus us one year at Villa Park. I was in the upper holte right behind it and it was a class save. I also saw him at Shrewsbury at the start of his career with a mate who lived in Salop. He told me even then City were scouting him so fair play he has had a very good career and seems a nice fella. I believe cricket was his first love so in an alternative universe perhaps he would have been a mean fast bowler.
  15. If I was a Leceister fan I would be furious. They had the game in the bag, numerous chances to kill it off to be 9 points clear and they have basically bottled it.
  16. Cheez why can't we just look forward to the return of a genuine European knockout tie for the first time in about a decade and a half?
  17. Emery is a European cup specialist, and according to most bookies, we are the favourites for this competition. To suggest that we won't be taking this seriously now we have reached the knockout stage is laughable.
  18. An unexpected revival of a once-promising player in a seemingly terminal decline. See also Ross Barkley.
  19. I think people forget how young he is- he is still not even 25 yet. Time for him to do a Barkley for him yet.
  20. Only tie in either competition between two former European cup winners. Just have to paper over the last 20 odd years for both clubs.
  21. Thanks. That confirms that the conference league is the third-tier competition then! I just want to play a team with a nonracist bunch of supporters
  22. Yes on a personal level, it must have been a hard few years with the bad injury and leaving your boyhood club (Jack take note). He does seem a bit lost when he plays.
