  1. We'll have sovereign fish Businesses have been preparing for this
  2. My Midday appointment has turned up at 13:15. I can go home when this prick is done, I should be at home NOW!!!
  3. Well I managed to get to a record shop again on Tuesday (To buy my own Xmas Presents!) and Mr Parker slipped me a CD (which again makes me a K Ultrax completist) of the two new half hour Michael and the Angelos "radio show" Go here to listen to both halves if a hilarious hour long radio show by fictional psychedelic Hanna Barbera characters is your bent. Very funny and Bunnymen guitarist Will Sergeant is one of the characters
  4. Do you hell, All fits on the draining section of the sink in a rack. Might seem like witchcraft but its rather space efficient, especially if you stack things correctly
  5. Doubt it, most of them don't actually know what they voted for
  6. Could easily be someone in the room next door who you had no contact with at all but your phones were “close” to each other all night
  7. Ah f***. The missus opened the fridge door this morning and something fell out of the fridge that I now have to go and buy again before work... Gravy, f***ing GRAVY!
  8. It absolutely is. The fact that Scotland changed policy, shows it is the responsibility of the nation states Overfishing is an entirely different thing and something I have a little more sympathy with blaming the EU for BUT without the EU I have no doubts that overfishing would be worse!
  9. No absolutely not. It is not the EU that allocates who gets the rights to the quota, nor is it the EU that allows those quotas to be sold on to others. That is the UK government This has been said time and time and time again, yet still people blame the EU We get our quota, we allocate it and we decide if that allocation can be sold on. Scotland does Scotland's as part of the devolved powers, they do not allow their part of the quota to be sold on. So can we stop blaming the EU for something which is beyond their scope. The blame lies here with our own Governments
  10. Did she pick her name in a Bargain Booze?
  11. I actually witnessed some bloke yesterday looking as excited as excited can be walking through town with his brand new turntable... It was made by SONY And he'd bought some records to go with it... from a well known second hand shop. A SONY turntable is bound to be twice the price it should be. Would they even make the list of best turntable manufacters... er No. And if you want to test a turntable, at least have one record that you know how its supposed to sound and is a very good copy Anyway, I ambled by HMV on my way around town and the absolute dogshit people were buying on vinyl was a bit of a revelation Then I ventured into Probe, where I bumped into and old mate Andy Cave who used to be the singer in The Tractors (Pat Nevin's Eyes), he was with his daughter and sanity was restored, she was looking at Joy Division records and other stuff that met with my approval, I gave her some advice on a few (which amused Andy no end) then I made him buy her an Augustuis Pablo album for Xmas
  12. I'm guessing this will be announced by Johnson as a great victory about half an hour before Madge is about to emphasise the we're all in together spirit whilst sitting on a solid gold 12th century bidet in an attempt to be one of the people
  13. This has been going on so long, you really do forget some of the offensively yet open cronyism that this government has been responsible for. I mean the Grouse Shooting exception is another of those satire is dead moments
  14. I would never do that to red wine and especially red wine that high on the shelf. might do it in the white wine aisle though
  15. Hmmm, well the WHO are hardly infallible, they've made a clusterpork of a few things recently and not just to do with COVID The important thing is to listen to the scientists, ask the pertinent questions and then formulate a plan based on that. Whether those scientists are WHO or not. I can honestly understand a country getting a second opinion after WHO though That second opinion is not Boris Johnson
  16. Yes the two countries doing this the best are the UK and South Africa, so you'll see exactly why the two new viruses are being peddled as ours and theirs It is also worth noting that no government minister is involved in this science
  17. Actually today was alright, yesterday was horrendous though. I only currently have one appointment for tomorrow and its a returning driver so much shorter than a brand new one, that's around midday so my CEO said I could finish the day from home if there were no more appointments and as if I'm not opening a bottle of something or other the minute I've washed my hands Just been to M&S to pick up the turkey and beef pplus other pre-ordered items - caused a bit of a scene. Estimated cost £138 minus £40 already paid. So I was expecting something in the region of £100 give or take. So that'll be £148... Erm are you quite sure? the estimate price remaining is approx £98. Yes sir they do tell you that the prices can vary on the weight when you order. Yes I realise that but to be £50 over on an order of £100 is somewhat of a large approximation error on two pieces of meat that are together in the region of £80 More computer says no nonsense ensues... can you get someone else to look at this please? But thats what the til says... Its wrong, get someone who can understand that the magnitude of the error is so great that it can't possibly be right please Finally goes to get someone. 1 minute later it is declared that I am indeed correct because I only ordered one £50 joint of beef, I was only in possession of one joint of beef and not the two that were on the till. So it wasn't the till that was wrong either, it was the person that scanned it twice. I'm a nightmare when shit like this happens normally but today I was perfectly relaxed and politely stood my ground with no raised voices and only a minor sprinking of sarcasm. It is Xmas after all!
  18. My take is that the first new strain was to deflect incompetence, this second one is to ensure compliance as much as it is to deflect again
  19. I'm sure it'll be a fantastic deal, thats great news for the nation and our persistence and hard work has paid off and our fish are still our fish
