  1. It is simply embarrassing. Why on earth cant we set up to attack ? Whenever we do we look ok - what is wrong with the guy ?
  2. we are told we dont like him as he is ex Blues. before Kick off all Neville could say was Mcleish is the right guy etc etc. yet all the way through they criticised our tactics which are SOLELY down to Mcleish. I am sure he could be a good Manager if he simply decided to try and win every game rather than his appaling 'no lose' philosophy. As he seems unlikley to change this I have to join the ranks of those who want him out.
  3. The only teams left below us are last years relegation candidates !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. No ambition at all - gary neville Should villa have done more -tyler Theyve given the fans nothing - neville Yet all these commentators say mclean is the man for the job and fans should shut up !! Yet again he waited until the last 5 minutes to attack. it is no coincidence we lose more leads yet come back from being behind so much. Im sick of hearing us criticised for not likling him coz he his ex-blues - I dont CARE where he his from - HE IS FAR FAR FAR too Negative. How long is this going to go on ?????????????????
  5. still a classy player who always gives his all and rarely costs us - there may be a case for the bench nxt season if we want to adopt a more aggrexive, pacy approach -if-otherwise still a starter
  6. I had no preconceptions with Mcleish but feared for him at a Club where even MON wasn't enough for some. And I have to say I think he was turning us into a laughing stock. However surely recent weeks have seen an improvement, and some good football - not all the time, but that goes for most sides. Surely, regardless of exactly who we have done ok against [and yes there have been 10 men and Clubs with poor records] it is a good thing? If he can build on the good bits we might get somewhere....and surely we all want that? It just is possible that it may work-atleast lets all sound like we want it to! Perhaps it's just taken him a while to adjust to managing a Big club.....
  7. We really are being treated like idiots, those comments from the PL and Govt are a disgrace. 1. It wasn't Hillsboro that brought in seats - the Clubs wanted it for ages, simply because they could charge more. Hillsboro just gave them the reason to do it. 2. What does the Minister mean when he says at the first accident he would be strung up ? There are 3000 deaths a year on the roads and the transport Minister isn't strung up. there are - the normal rate of - accidents at Pop Concerts, Formula 1, Test Match Cricket, Glastonbury, etc etc, but no-one insists these events should be all seating. No-one insists the Tube should be all seating, we regularly runs Trains which have people sat in corridors and stood in aisles and luggage racks. AND to top it all, what about the huge amount of standing that already goes in Grounds - seen Man U recently, or Chelsea in the CL ? We really should be up in arms at the garbage they are talking.
  8. If reasonably priced probably the one and only thing that would get me back to the Ground. People stand at evry ground, at every other event, and all over the country in all circumstances, why can't we ? Maybe then get a bit of atmosphere and also the ability to move away from any assoles......in my last year as a ST holder the prospect of sitting with the same bunch of moaning miserable so and sos put me off totally.
  9. No he hasn't. He has loaned it and has charged interest, at a rate which is pretty favourable I'd imagine. Not correct Trent. He has put in his own money as equity, and he has also loaned money. And the interest is paid at at a standard rate of LIBOR (London Interbank Offered Rate) plus 2%, which is currently very low at 1.05%. As Risso has mentioned previously on a few occasions, in 2009 what appears to be a one off, management charge of £7.7m was shown as being due to Reform Acquisitions (Randy basically). I don't know if the money was actually paid out to him or not. The accounts also say that none of the directors receive remuneration in relation to their services to [Villa]. It's not a case of being grateful or whatever, it was his choice and his lookout. He's not a saint, and nor should we expect him to be, but basically he's a sort of mildly hard nosed benevolent owner, financially. The equity he has put in, he'd get back when the club is sold, the loans are 9 year loans and a bean counter I know told me "It's about the best way of doing things" But that is the point surely ? He will get all that back when he sells, and maybe more. by the time he goes will he be down overall ? I don't think he will, and no-one has stated a good reason why, if he isn't going to actually spend his money - and only balance the books, why is he needed ? Any of us can balance books.
  10. It doesn't have to be Lerner or that. there are many much smaller Clubs up and down the Country, in all Leagues, being run well, with better Managers, bettter football, more apparent ambition. Some money would help but we don't need to go the whole way. having said that with Footy as it is we may as well anyway ! We need more than a book balancer.
  11. Out. Not convinced of the money he has actually SPENT, rather than LENT or will recouperate. If his only ambition is to balance the books I could do that. In every other aspect we are now failing massively - which I think began when he stopped backing MON - and the bright spots of his ownership are long ago. It is Today and the Future that matter, and after 5 plus years of him we are going backwards - no earthly reason to want him to stay. A shame, because I loved him at first, but the Club comes first and we are becoming a laughing stock.
  12. Must go right now. Humiliating, fruitless, embarrasing, tedious, clueless.
  13. Of course we didn't have the same complaints about MON - he acheived significantly more than has happened since (or before for ages) or hadn't you noticed ? He was right, Lerner was wrong, and we have become a laughing stock because of it. It isn't a question of not getting over MON, it is how far and how quickly we are sinking with these clowns in charge.
  14. Excellent dissection - of the tripe we are being served up - by Barnes and Keegan. An embarrasment
  15. Utter tripe. The Board must go. I have never seen a football Club turned so quickly from an admired threat to the Upper Orders to a laughing stock. Beyond belief. I couldn't care less what comes next but Mcleish Faulkener and Lerner are now a disaster.
  16. Atrocious display again. Depressing and embarrasing. But it will get far far worse as we watch Sunderland go cruising past us.
  17. Couldn't agree more. Losing MON was the worst thing ever for us. Keep him, and back him, and it'd still be exciting watching us. Now I don't see how we'll ever get back to those times, I really don't.
  18. Did you see the game ? No shame ?? We treated them like world beaters, it was shocking. There is never any shame in losing to anyone but there is no excusing the manner of that rubbish, or excusing how we have suddenly become so inferior to them. (Sorry about the underlines etc - edit)
  19. Delph doing well ! Could he get MOM for 3 minutes ? that would sum it all up.
  20. I loved MON and never doubted him. I thought the idea of Mcdonald naive, and cheap. I thought Houllier would be a disaster, and he was. I didn't criticise the appointment of AM, thought I would give him time. But it is clearly rubbish, there is nothing to be gained by false 'positivity'. Game after game we are an embarrassment, look at Swans and QPR, Norwich, even Blackburn, playing with more spirit fight and ability than we can dream of, with unquestionably worse players. So Am has to have responsibility for that and go. But for me that is 4 guys under Randy, and the only one who did any good he didn't appoint and had enough of him anyway, so for me it is RL that is the root problem. He doesn't want us to do a Leeds ? Leeds didn't have a guy with a Billion Dollars in the Bank did they ?
  21. How far and how fast we are falling. i think we are going to do a Leeds but WITHOUT the good bit........ Ok we wont go down, Bolton Wigan and Blackburn appear more shot than us. But only just. A 10 man defence against Spurs ? Crap crap crap.
  22. When I think of how we worked and strived to get nearly on a par with Spurs and Liverpool and then watch the drivel served up again tonight I struggle to believe it. I'd actually rather do a Leeds than carry on like this !
