  1. I'd love Cardiff to win as a kind of anti-Wembley thing, but in reality I don't mind who wins. Unlike some on here I admire Redknapp. He sets teams up to play the game I love in the right way and an FA Cup win for him would be much deserved in my opinion.
  2. I would probably have voted Virgin, purely because I used to enjoy weekend mornings listening to them. Unfortunately they have changed over to the tacky Heart FM style where they have two DJs talking crap to each other, thus making the music difficult to find. Therefore I voted 'Other', Planet Rock
  3. I would take Forsell in a heartbeat. Stick him in a side where there is good service and he would score a hatful. Good addition to the squad, cheap, and one who would sign.
  4. I don't think that we should have a captain after this season, regardless of whether Barry goes. If he stays it will be because he is bound to his contract, thus making a mockery of the position. The job of the pre-kick off formalities should alternate around the team.
  5. Led Zep all the way for me, but I think that the two bands are totally different, so it is probably an unfair comparison.
  6. General election. There are too many sinister people in Brown's camp for the party to turn on him
  7. Chelsea, surely? Why would Ferguson talk about West Ham. He was interested in them about a year ago when he swapped three points for Tevez.

    Do you read?

Ahh...Follett. I liked Code to Zero and The Third Twin. He uses plenty of expletives though ... This is the first one of his I've read, and of course it's totally unlike the rest of his stuff, being mediaeval and all that. It's OK so far, but a bit erm, unchallenging. Don't know if I'll finish it. I was quite gobsmacked that the venerable Mr Mooney had picked my fave book (Pillars) up in the first place, and then you qualified your original post with this one! I won't recommend 'World Without End', the 'Pillars' sequel, which I have recently finished, but I thoroughly enjoyed it all the same I am currently reading Bill Bryson's 'A short history of nearly everything', but that's a bit hard going for me. I am resigned to being a fiction reader..........
  9. I also liked Lee Dixon last evening suggesting that Chiles should take the boggies SF defeat on his 'chins'
  10. Chiles is okay, and at least the BBC has someone with a regional accent fronting various shows. Having said that he is on TV so much he seems to be today's equivalent of Anthea Turner.
  11. I cannot vote as there is no 'indifferent' option
  12. They don't really need to be updated, do they? As long as the respective councils get their annual percentage increase, they can leave things as they are, as proportionally the definition between property size remains the same.
  13. It had nothing to do with rich, because relatively there weren't that many of them (and still aren't). As always the socialists and so called 'working class' decided to pin it on the rich in order to spread their anarchic bile. Poll tax was fair to normal people who, rather than spend their money on drinking, smoking and gambling, use their earnings to better their family. Ultimately it was they who lost out, and still do.
  14. Probably, given that she required and received his assistance in repelling an aggressor thousands of miles from home. Strangely there are still some people who put our country first. In my opinion this is a wildly inaccurate claim. If she was a supporter of apartheid I don't know about it, and if she was an 'enthusiastic' supporter, surely we would all have known about it. An aggressor invade sovereign territory nearly 8000 miles from home and was removed within three months. Hardly a calamity, more like a magnificent show of efficiency. The problem with the Poll Tax was that it was fair. Fairness and Socialism don't go hand in hand together, which is why lots of 'protestors' decided to cause mayhem (with their faces covered, of course) Had their been no Falklands, UK politics would have continued with its left-right-left lurch. The success of the Falklands gave Thatcher the time to undo the mess created by the Wilson and Callaghan governments and bring prosperity to this country. That's the prosperity that Brown and Blair have pissed away in the last 10 years, ensuring that there will be a generation of hardship to follow.
  15. Any chance of adding Ferguson to that list?
  16. We have just sold a house which completes this week. It dragged for a while with no viewings. The agent suggested dropping the price, but with no viewings we thought it better to drop the agent. The new agents got viewers through the door straight away and we soon accepted an offer that was about 1.75% lower than the asking price. Whilst we believe that the market is quiet, rather than collapsing, we are not rushing to buy something else at the moment.
  17. Easy. I could never knowingly see harm done to anyone. Money is not worth sacrificing life for, even that of someone with whom you have no connection.
  18. SSN reporting that all betting is suspended and Alex McLeish is the man.
  19. Redknapp would do a better job of motivating the team and getting them to play good football in my opinion.
  20. Redknapp can get players motivated for one off games, which all England games are, but would be seen as too dodgy. Scolari turned it down, so should not be considered. The FA turned MON down, so if he is the man that we think he is, he would not consider any new approach. (plus the fact that he has the best job in the world!) Capello or Lippi would not suffer from the club bias of any of the other candidates, so either would be my choice.
  21. This is something I'd really like to see too. It might be a bit more difficult, but there are a fair few Villans who would travel a bit more often if it was possible. Gentlemen, In all fairness to the club putting together packages for overseas visitors is something that they could never do as well, nor as cheaply as individuals themselves. If the club did do something, then they would inevitably open themselves up to criticism for being overpriced. For the Emerald Isle there are plenty of seats on offer from Dublin every day with both Aer Lingus and Ryanair, and for weekends the cheap seats are returns from Ireland (lots of Brits heading the other way). Cork, Shannon and Knock are also all served by low fare carriers. SAS will start a direct BHX-Stockholm service next year, and offer attractive weekend fares. It is also expected that Norwegian will start a direct Oslo service. Where the club can help (and no doubt would) is by looking at overseas ticket applications with some sympathy.
  22. I am afraid that I cannot take this seriously as everybody knows that Easyjet don't fly to Vasteras, it is strictly the preserve of Ryanair :winkold:
  23. Isn't it amazing that Blackburn has a similar sized population to Sutton Coldfield? It makes their 20000 something gates quite impressive, and suggests that we should have a demand for 60000 seats every game!
