  1. Nope, i only feed the hand that has been feeding me. Let's face it, VT has been the only place where this takeover has been covered on topic, with a good mix of people who know how such transactions work, and lots of hopeful speculation dashed with a cracking sense of humour. SSN, 5Live, WM and especially TalkSport pale into insignificance next to VT
  2. Jst out of curiosity, does that plane have any other flights scheduled yet? No, but you'll certainly know when it does
  3. Tranquility base here........ .....the Eagle has landed I've *always* wanted to say that!!! (In Luton BTW)
  4. I prefer not to go into specifics but will update as and when things have happened
  5. Slight disclaimer(!) I have no way of telling who is on the aircraft, but Joe is spot on. Long haul business trips begin at the start of the week, not the end, unless there is a big deal to close.
  6. RL jet update. it's been busy this week. Yesterday it flew Green Bay to Cleveland, and then when I switched off around midnight it was heading to RL's home. Given that it's Friday I didn't expect to see it move but it appears that Santa Claus is coming to town. It is currently en route to another airport in the UK than Birmingham that would put him in position to meet Rothschilds Unless there is any major sporting event, movie premiere etc in London that takes the mans fancy, it looks like today could well be the day. All I can say is this man appears to be working damned hard to fulfil our dreams.
  7. Should that not be 'Lerner's associates?'? Or has it been confirmed anywhere. Are the media as confused as us on all of this? Is this a conspiracy by Doug 'where is my office' Ellis to make the whole world as confused as he has been for the last year or so? Confusing, isn't it?
  8. Checking in with an update on RL's jet. It left Cleveland yesterday on what looks like NFL business. As it's pretty irrelevant I'm not going to continue to pass on updates as to where it moves to, but the minute it so much as points in our direction I will post on this forum. My personal opinion is that IF Mr Lerner is still in the mix, there will be some sort of announcement before he darkens these shores again in person.
  9. and i doubt RL's associates would travel on a company plan, probably jst get business class on a commercial airline. But then I could bore you with the story of a local company who are buying a second jet because "the family" find it inconvenient that the executives keep using "their" jet. Meanwhile RL's jet is off later to...... ......Cleveland!
  10. Folks, aircraft update, following a fair bit of digging I have reason to believe that the aircraft that arrived from Dubai yesterday is *unlikely* to be associated with the takeover. It is owned by an Asian businessman whose appearance is a little different to the three guys shown around yesterday. Apparently this fellow has other interests in the area. So Nuremburg, I think you were right about me being wrong, and that maybe it is RL's men we are talking about. Remember RL had a 2 hour meeting (briefing?) at Luton before he went home last week. Meanwhile RL's jet is not planned to go anywhere just yet........
  11. You sure it wasn't Paul Simon singing 'You can call me Al'? :winkold:
  12. That could be the first thing you've got wrong on this board, Woody 8) Hope so, I'd still rather it was Lerner. Must stop stalking him tho' :winkold:
  13. I actually think Lerner's out, and won't be back in until the takeover after this one, whenever that may be, if at all
  14. On a slightly different tack I heard an interview with a guy from the company that handles the shares. He made a strange statement insomuch as he described the Villa as not being saddled with the 'noose of a huge debt', but put it in such a way as there was a debt of sorts. How much is not 'huge'? Say 25-30m?
  15. OK folks, my last nerd posting, unless any desktop alerts pop up. The aircraft that arrived today was last in Birmingham on the 4th March, the day of the Portsmouth game. It's been in London for a few days since (10th-14th April) I can't find any instance of it being in the same place as RL's jet, so no connection in my opinion
  16. Don't worry, a normal refuelling stop for Japan How many extra nationalities are we going to chuck into this conundrum?
  17. East Hampton, Long Island, NY I'm going to change my id to 'Nerd'
  18. The aircraft in question was last in the US in May, when it flew from Las Vegas to Vancouver and then onwards to Petrapavlovsk-Kamchatsky Now who was it who mentioned Russians?!!!!
  19. Further to this it has just popped up that RL's jet is planned to leave Cleveland this afternoon (US time) for home.
  20. Regarding today's visitors, I know nothing, but I am pretty convinced that the aircraft that arrived from Dubai this morning is related. The aircraft is American registered to a bank that specialises in financing such machines, but after digging the last known 'owners' were an Australian company called 'Beyond Holdings', a mobile phone company. As far as I can see the aircraft hasn't been to Australia for a long time, so the ownership may have changed, but it does kick around the Far East a lot, so it's possible that Dubai was a refuelling stop. If RL's people are over, it was by scheduled flight, which I doubt. No private jets have come to the UK from 'obvious' Lerner originating points.
  21. Where's our airport plane watching guy? Any scheduled flights for our favourite private jet? Today? Tomorrow? Thursday? I was enjoying a rather large Chinese lunch in Manchester, but now back! Posted on another thread, but being as you ask. RL's plane is still in Cleveland, with no announced intention to move just yet. When that situation changes, will let you know. Another private jet arrived from Dubai this morning, the second in the last week. Normally we never get private jets from there, so my money's now on the Dubai consortium.
