His job? I can't imagine a world where Villa fans wouldn't be calling for blood after a bad run. Besides he gave Green a chance and clearly determined RHM wasn't quite ready. Other then them and maybe Lyden, who else is there? In any event our academy has struggled to create decent players for a while. It's a bit of a myth that we have a good academy if you ask me. Other than Gary Cahil I can't think of any exceptional talent we have produced other than if you count Gareth Barry (which I don't think you can) or maybe at a stretch Darius Vassell.

I quite genuinely believe that he is absolutely no better than Lansbury or Hourihane. I've not once seen him do anything impressive. Sucked at arsenal, sucked for England, sucked for Bournemouth, he just isn't a good player. I would also add he's the kind of over-priced, over-paid, unfit "exciting" name we've had our fingers burned by over and over again.

Yes really. Well over half of what I read here is just fans laying into players and the managers, sometimes before a player is signed or s ball is kicked. Can you blame some player last for giving up the season we went down with just how poisonous the atmosphere was. People sarcastically cheered corners FFS.

People have complained about "boring football", "no movement" and "hoofball" since basically John Gregory. Maybe we just aren't good enough to be tapping it around like Barcelona? I can't explain it but we've had so many managers and everyone has had the same gripes about all of them. Maybe that's just the way football has to be for a mediocre team like ours.

But how can anyone say Bruce wasn't the right appointment?? His championship cv speaks for itself. I feel like we have experimented with every "type" of manager now and nothing seems to be working. It clearly isn't the core issue.

If we sack Bruce as quickly as we sacked RDM after 11 games, I give up. Have we learnt nothing at all??? You can't even use the excuse of "wrong appointment in the first place" because he has been promoted from this division 4 times. Continuously sacking managers gets you NOWHERE.

Jesus we go through this every season. It's just pre season, calm down. It's meaningless. We've had incredible pre seasons followed by utter dross in "real life" before.

People want instant promotion. You don't get that by throwing stupid sums at it. The fans demands are as much a problem as the attitude towards spending. Same goes for managers. Don't win in five games and everyone calls for a sacking. The fans are one of the biggest issues at the club IMO. We have such heightened views of Aston Villa and we unjustifiably expect instant success all the time.
