  1. UBI? An extra £10k per annum for nothing. Sign me up! I'd probably spend half of mine on drugs, booze and whores. I'd waste the rest. Seriously though, its an interesting concept but I can't see it ever happening.
  2. Heating on, cup of tea and wagon wheel and Absolute 90s on. Lovely! Happy Friday!

    Snow Watch!

WFH today and glad I did. No need to risk the roads/trains if you have the ability to work remotely. As it happens my day dragged like hell as most of my clients weren't working. Caught up on paperwork and raided Sainsburys at lunchtime for a selection of snacks, meals and drinks.

I'd be fuming! 4 is too late, it'll be a right chore to get home now edit: just red your later post

You had it very light last night. It was really bad in Four Oaks last night. You must live in a tropical microclimate!
  6. Nah, Hard Rock Cafe at Singapore is the best!

My work are the opposite of @Stevo985's OH. They're practically forcing people to WFH tomorrow as they are probably scared of people being in accidents. Not out of any real concern, just because they have no-one to cover your work if you die!

Very well might be but challenging stuff like that marks you down as a 'troublemaker' and work can make your life difficult going forward. That is the joy of the private sector corporate machine.

    Snow Watch!

Yep, definitely, especially if she has the ability to work from home. Even if she doesn't, asking people to risk their safety (if the weather is extreme) is bad.
  10. French skiiers, local barmaids... seems a common theme mate
  11. I also don't own a toaster, but I would imagine I am in a very small minority there!

    Snow Watch!

I spoke to two separate clients in Leeds today and they said it was really heavy. Once chap, in Micklefield, said its the worst he's seen it for years.
  13. Re: Skiing holidays. I like the idea of the snow and wooden chalets and drinks around a roaring fire in the pub in the evening. The only thing I don't fancy is the skiing itself! Not with my knees!

There are a few sports memorabilia auction houses with websites. Not sure how much they would charge though.
  15. Damn, I was hoping it was this year
  16. In a way I'm glad I grew up in an era that never had widespread internet usage or mobile phones. I think it got me out more and also made me read more as well. Nights out were organised on landlines and everyone arranged to meet at a certain time in a certain place (9pm in Circo Bar being the usual!) I never went on the net until I was about 18, the same age I had my first mobile (a NEC DB2000), which would have been 1997/early 1998. I can see how kids nowadays are more isolated with the technology. Slaves to social media and keeping up appearances on the net 24-7.
  17. And there is you saying you don't like New Years Eve!
  18. Realistic sex robots. Like Gemma Chan in 'Humans' Just waiting to place my order...
  19. Anyone remember this? I think @NurembergVillan was narrating
  20. One I haven't seen mentioned (I don't think) is Extras. Probably lives in the shadow of The Office but it is very very good.
  21. Highcroft where I grew up. Fancy apartments now https://www.martinco.com/property/to-rent/137481
