  1. Most of which it would appear they haven't declared anyway....
  2. So if he stays one more season and then goes to Liverpool thats ok? That sounds logical No it wouldn't be OK, but at least he'd have had known whether we can continue our rate of progression and make the Champions League or not. If he gives it one more year, and we haven't made it, then O'Neill will have had three years and I couldn't argue with him going. He'll still be only 28, which is hardly old and could have 7 years at the very top left in him.
  3. One CVByrne, there's only onnnnnnne CVByyyyrne! I happen to agree, I can't see how anybody who leaves us when we're on the up deserves anything more than our utter contempt, especially when their leaving would set us back massively as well as strengthening the only club we could probably realistically dislodge from the 4th Champions League spot. And before anybody mentions the comparison to Mellberg, I see that as an entirely different case, as Ollie probably felt that he didn't have much of a future at Villa Park after losing his place in the centre of defence and having to play as emergency rightback all season. Mellberg - legend. Barry, if he stays for at least one more season - utter legend. Barry, if he takes the filthy lucre at Liverpool - fat arsed, overrated Judas!
  4. The Soundtrack Of Our Lives - Firmament Vacation
  5. Sorry Nays, I didn't mean that games and Warcraft in particular are any a less a valid passtime than any of the other things you mention, but I had got to the stage where I was logging on at times purely for the sake of it, when I could have been spending more time with the family etc. Everything in moderation is perhaps more what I was trying to say, rather than "go out backpacking to Nepal instead". For me I was spending an unacceptably high amount of time playing WoW, but then the game is based exactly around getting people to do that. Not that I didn't enjoy it, or have some greta times in game.
  6. This was his last message on the BOTS message board and then a couple of days later he was dead. Weird, and makes you think. TBH I'm glad I'm not playing any more, I doubt anybody wishes they'd played more computer games just as they're about to snuff it.
  7. Jesus, just went on the BOTS site for the first time since I cancelled my account (too scared to go there in case I get tempted to come back) and have just read that one of the UK lads in the guild from Widnes was found dead last week.
  8. If house prices are falling, I might have to consider a move back, as the prices over here are scandalously high, and show no signs of dropping.
  9. I've listened to that over and over all weekend. Haven't heard a song that grabbed me so completely and utterly in years. Quite, quite brilliant.
  10. Another Franks fan? They're one of my favourite bands ever.

  12. He's not a liar, but I'm not sure that we'll spend enough to even catch Everton this summer, never mind bridge the gap to the top 4.
  13. I'd be surprised if we spent much more than £20m this summer, including the £10m on Curtis Davies. I think we'll get 3-4 "O'Neill type signings", eg the likes of Kevin Davies or James Beattie. I think there's going to be a lot of disappointed people this summer, or at least a lot of people trying to hide their disappointment. I hope I'm wrong and look forward to somebody quoting this post to make me look a clearing in the woods on 1 September! But I doubt it....
  14. Sorry Paul, but what's the point in wading through pages of posts that just say "yes" or "no"? As this subject hasn't been covered exactly elsewhere, what's to be lost by letting people put their point of view? As someone else said, it's a bit more tricky than just a yes or no answer. I voted yes by the way, with reservations.
  15. Leaving aside notions of fairness, I'd be interested to see a comparison between the real costs of poll tax and council tax for the average family. Before I left for uni we had four of us paying poll tax in the house, but I don't remember it being nearly as painful as our council tax bill, which was pretty crippling.
  16. If the Argentinians hadn't invaded a British Overseas territory, one that we are duty bound to protect, the war wouldn't have happened. Simple as that. I can see why people get divided over the whole issue of Thatcher, but how many hundreds of thousands of people have died in Iraq as a direct results of Bush and Bliar's illegal war?
  17. I've been thing of getting an XBox too, it would be nice to do some multi player gaming that doesn't completely take over your life like WoW does.
  18. No Jessica Rabbit or Princess from Battle of the Planets? Shame on you!
  19. ED is a word removed. I bought this game and have a L70 shaman.
  20. That's brilliant mate, into the Black Temple you go!
  21. My subscription runs out on the 26th of March, won't be around much between now and then I wouldn't think.
  22. I thought you Norwegian lot were more into your death metal, not a bunch of melodic Scousers? (Top song by the way)
  23. It's not THE worst idea I've heard of, but it's close. The only argument I've read in favour of them is that they might not be as bad as people think. Just about every other so called reason for introducing them has been debunked. So in answer to the thread title, "no".
