  1. Yeah, this is the bit that stings. The keeper was up, on his line an unhindered by the time we regained possession. We then scored. Goal should have stood.
  2. Game was screaming out for Buendia to help us against a low block. Some interesting decisions and while I think Ramsay has fouled the keeper - how far back do you go? You could argue he was fouled first, which means a penalty. Clearly change of phase, and the keeper was up and in position when we scored. All that said - we needed to create more and we didn't. Good goal from Zaniolo to keep us undefeated at home
  3. I didn't think there was a team that could match ManUre for being utterly and totally dislikeable... ... but with Mee and Maupay, Brentford are getting close.
  4. Agreed. It's not just that he stopped and propped - he changed his line to make sure there was contact. You can't give that.
  5. Could have used his creativity against a Brentford low-block. Thankfully, Ben Mee made it easier for us. ..... cue Delphino to enter the tread
  6. More suited to a Small Heath fan? 3 fingers on the right hand, 4 toes on the right foot an and indeterminate number of fingers on the left. Just like the inbreds. ... has some teeth left though.
  7. I'm not seeing the argument here. Are we in a title race? Yes. We are 2 points from the top. Will we win it? Unllikely. We have a lot of footballl to play and a small-ish squad. Can we address that? Maybe. Jan window soon - but that doesn't mean quality is available. Is it exciting? Is it what!
  8. That one where Luiz got a yellow: the commentators on my stream talked about a clear foul and "lets watch the replay" There was no contact, he simply went down because he lost the ball, Gillet bought it and booked Luiz for "kicking the ball away". Silence from both the commentators during the replay. He's a protected species on and off the pitch.
  9. A gift from Diego Carlos meant we had to settle for a draw against Bournemouth. Spurs somehow managed to gift 2 to West Ham. Spurs squad is full of coach killers
  10. You were definitely dreaming.... ... it was only 2 shots
  11. Decision making. That's what will make or break Zaniolo. Case in point: He's released down the right in the first half vs Bournemouth, cuts inside on the edge of the area looking to make room for himself for a shot. The defenders push him wide so McGinn cuts inside him. The right choice? A cheeky backheel to McGinn back across the box. Unexpected and the defenders are following Zaniolo - chance was on. The decision made? Keep looking for space even though you've dribbled the length of the box... and keep dribbling till you are double teamed near the sideline and turn it over. Compare that to Bailey - who in the earlier part of his time with us would also run into dead ends - and the amount of times he realised it wasn't on vs Bournemouth, and simply jinked, turned and layed it off waiting for a better opportunity. I don't remember seeing him dispossessed. If Bailey can be taught to do that (and I thought he was excellent on the weekend) then there is hope still for Zaniolo.
  12. Refereeing has been massively inconsistent. There was a 20 minute period since the Semenyo foul where he refused to give anything. Stark contrast to the opening 20 minutes where he handed them 2 yellow cards. You can feel the players frustration
  13. Job done - shame we gifted them one. 3 things I learned: There is always time to celebrate a goal, especially given the circumstances around Moreno's return. Not sure why we were so keen to kick off quickly again as we had > 30 minutes still in the game. Olsen is a good backup keeper. Good with his feet, safe with his hands and almost got an assist! Kamara is the most calm/serene/relaxed player I've ever seen in a Villa shirt. Sometimes, that's his undoing.
  14. Can't stand ManUre... ... but gotta admit - their finishing for their goals in the game against Galatasaray was top notch.
  15. It's an important point to make for any contact sport. In the NRL down here (rugby league), if someone is coming back from an injury, you can be sure the opposition will "test it out" to see how well they have recovered.
  16. Yeah, exactly that. Needed VAR to pick a less favourable camera angle to draw lines and deny us a goal from Watkins. Son's attempts? Even the worst linesman would call those correctly. The very definition of clear and obvious
  17. The only thing coming close to the stench of the refereeing has been Cash. He looks totally lost. Bailey on at halftime for Cash. Ramsey in the 60th for an out-of-sorts Diaby
  18. 'salright. They got Jack. Pep is such a good manager he'll know how to unleash Grealish against a tight defence and get that winning goal. ... right?
  19. Must admit - my favourite commentator is now Lee Hendrie
  20. TAA is as sublime on the ball as he is diabolical off it. Massive miss-match vs Doku. Oh what I would have given for a fit Moreno when we played Liverpool!
  21. It took a Portuguese referee to finally give Kane what he deserves: A yellow card for diving.
  22. Arsenal in "Couldn't spot a WC winning GK if he was playing in their reserves" shocker.
  23. Probably made it harder than we had to - but that's a good win largely in second gear. 13 straight at home. Wow. 3 things I learned: John McGinn is a machine Lee Hendrie is enjoyable to listen to Unai Emery has no limits
  24. I tried a few times - but nope: I'm going to need a translation.
