Geez, some of you lot are embarrassing. Sterling was through, Digne knew it and stopped him illegally. That's a yellow. He copped one in the face for his trouble, but clearly that was accidental.

Ratings & Reactions: Villa v Crystal Palace
ozvillafan replied to limpid's topic in PL: Crystal Palace h
Well.. that was easy, wasn't it? Been a while since we won coming from behind - almost 12 months, apparently - which makes the win that much sweeter and important. 3 things I learned: I don't like this "scoring late" malarky. Can we switch back to scoring early please? A perfect sliding tackle, boundless energy, a smashing finish and a daft yellow card. Duran is never dull There is only one master of the dark arts between the sticks. For reference: he's at the opposite end, Sam. Nice try though.- 258 replies

Well, that didn't go well. 3 things I learned: Without Mings and Carlos, our defensive backline is as intimidating as a box of kittens Torres isn't up to speed. Yet. Emery doesn't always get it right.

We play some good stuff under Emery... .. but, mentally, the old Villa is still there. We were never in this one and it could still be 5 or 6

They have us worked out: Nunez and Salah running at Pau Torres - who has been poor. This could be a big score

Very true. But Gerrard had 2 seasons at Rangers and a name. Postecoglou has been in management for decades and always had success at clubs he managed.

Aye - maybe wasn't clear from what I said, but I loved watching Hendrie play. He's one of the better co-commentators IMO - he reads the play well and remains (mostly) impartial

Don't underestimate Postecoglou. He's good.

I love Lee Hendrie That is all

I agree - but I know it will be overturned.

Supremely comfortable, bar a poor start to the 2nd. I like the cut of Zaniolo's jib. McGinn is something else (and my MOTM) and Cash did waaaay better than I expected. 3 things I learned: I enjoy listening to Lee Hendrie almost as much as watching him play (was co-commentator on my stream) Konsa is a baller We can win with Olsen in goal

MacAllister, for mine, is a nailed on red. Late, high, studs up.

.. or very, very close. Big season of struggle for them.

Aye, he got a knee - but it also looked a lot like Ming's injury. No, not a bung knee - but the injury coming from landing awkwardly because of the contact.

Can we play Everton every week? Our midfield was great and special mention to Bailey, who got better as the game went on. An assist and a goal - lovely. 3 things I learned: Being concerned about the line-up at kick-off, clearly I know nothing about football We can win without Mings Ashely Young is still a good player for us

The gloating on here about your shithousery in that game juxtaposes brilliantly with your (collectively) complaining about the referee in this one. ... and you're Poms. That just makes it all the more fun.

Best result we ever had. Yep - proud.

That was hard to watch. England - the shining light of playing "in the spirit of the game" - having to endure time wasting from the opposition and resorting to fouling. Unlucky and deserved better.

That was an awesome tackle
