  1. waving a white flag is pathetic as well, we'd be laughed at in the papers and by other clubs for that.
  2. I'm sorry but not going just because times are hard just makes you a shit fan. i dont want mcleish here and i'm not happy with how things are going at the moment but doesn't mean i'm gonna stop going and stop supporting the club.
  3. no this isn't dont get me wrong, i didn't want mcleish but i can see he isn't going anywhere anytime soon so i'm gonna do what supporter should do and support the team and not blame mcleish for every little thing that goes wrong like most people around me do because at the end of the day theres only so much he can do. He isn't out there on the pitch.
  4. if he nipped out shopping in the 2nd half then i don't blame him and i bet the majority who were slagging him off for it either left the game half hour early themselves or couldn't even be bothered to turn up.
  5. Yeah but you're not going to change that. Rightly or wrongly that is the natural reaction to the team playing as badly as it is - no amount of reasoning with people on here will do the blindest bit to stop the boos or change the atmosphere at the game. Banners might just make the players realise that the shower of shite they are serving up has gotten to the point where the fans are in revolt. That may spark a reaction from them it may not, but it's more chance than the apathetic mood currently going on. Like I say, it's not that what you're saying is wrong, just that it's pointless believing it will happen. I Say bring back the ''we're not fickle we just don't like you'' banner I worked last time!! the thing is we are fickle though and always have been.

Like I say, it's not that what you're saying is wrong, just that it's pointless believing it will happen. i know what your saying too. But ive had a season ticket for 18 seasons now, i remember when we used to go a couple of goals down and the fans would get behind us to try and help us get back in the game, sometimes it worked sometimes it didnt. i looked at the players in that 2nd half yesterday and i thought what belief are they going to have about getting back in the game when all hey could hear is boos and general manager and player abuse from the crowd. Were all aston villa SUPPORTERS so were meant to support through good and bad times so instead of shouting abuse at the manager when we go a goal down how about we sing a song or 2 and try and get behind them like we used too because nowadays most our fans dont act like supporters they act like spoilt little customers.
  7. like thats gonna help. seriously we need to concentrate on supporting the team whoever the manager, owners are etc because the support at villa park at the moment is shocking no atmosphere whatsoever.
  8. i too thought he did well yesterday was probably the only postive to come from it. his movement is very good and he seemed to work well picking up the ball in deeper areas in the first half in the 2nd when heskey went off it was hard from him as he was starved of service. He had good movement in the 2nd half too but seemed like our players couldnt spot this.
  9. Wtf it happens players swap shirts sometimes after games... Our fans never failed to deceive me
  10. You know what I'm glad mortimer said what he did because it seems to have done the trick Been good so far this season hopefully he keeps this up, looks like his fitness is a lot better this season as well dont seem to see him tiring near the end of games so far.
  11. As gabby once said himself i think, hopefully we never have to find out how much he is worth. Could go on to become a villa legend and if this is the form he is showing when he's got a back problem then i'd like to see his form when he's fully fit
  12. glad to see him back to the sort of form which made us buy him. I think after reading the programme saturday a lot of credit has to go to adrian lamb our fitness coach who warnock knew from blackburn and warnock says hes got his fitness levels up and its defo showing so far in his performances. Hopefully he carries this on all season.
  13. i think its quality once you get used to the tactical defending. think the way the tackling is has made it much more realistic game. I lost 4-0 to wigan with villa first game on world class to computer but since ive got used to it im loving the game. Ive seen some people (not on here) saying its shit and there've took it straight back, these are the people to me who have no pateince with games and a generally shit at them so they claim the game is shit just because they cant play it. Love playing with villa on the fifa games. miss not having downing and young in our team on it this year but getting a lot of joy with n'zogbia cutting in from the right.
  14. yeh albrighton had a poor game but lets not right him off just yet, hes suffering from a big lack of confidence same with N'zogbia who looked brighter when than he has done when he came on. Found it ironic how the same people who were shouting abuse at N'zogbia on sat were cheering when he came on. Typical!!
  15. I dont really post that much in match threads these days but that last night was shocking. Our first shot on target in the 87th minute what a joke. People may say give him time to turn things around but he hasn't got the squad to change much but to be honest if mcleish had messi, david villa and iniesta in the team he still wouldnt know how to attack. its sad to think every bluenose mate who predicted what mcleish's football would be like here is absolutley right.
  16. clearly he is really low on confidence and a few thousand people shouting "your shit N'zogbia" is not going to help. Wish we would do more to support players who are really low on confidence.
  17. He didn't have the best of games at Everton but i don't think he's been anywhere near as poor as he was under houllier.
  18. A sure fire way of bringing about an improvement. I never used to allow myself to pick Villa players when I did fantasy football teams, because I always put the mockers on them. same here mate, dunno why i changed this season but now i've took bent and n'zogbia out of a couple of my teams. Gonna be applying a no villa players in my fantasy teams policy from now on.
  19. Everything will be alright with him now, I've took him out my fantasy league team
  20. think n'zogbia will fit to drogba's chant quite well charles n'zogbia la la la la larrrr and so on...
  21. as much as i dont want mcleish, that graffiti is a joke. vandalising your own club's property, what goes through these people's heads.
  22. i apologise stewart.. i can now see why you changed your mind so quickly about signing a new deal.
  23. great post there B6Bloke, exactly how i feel.
  24. We as fans can no longer slag a player off for wanting to leave us, i do not blame them. I can't see bent or downing wanted to stay for starters. The reason i think were going for mcleish as well is probably because no one else wants the job which shows what we have become
  25. I'm not an ST holder because I live in Kent and its just not practical. However, I am genuinely interested in why you would consider NOT supporting the club both financially and in person. Say for example we appoint McLeish, and we win our first 6 games and are in CL contention by Xmas. Will you come back? Would you then leap on the bandwagon and support the club again. It doens't matter who is in the Manager's Officer, or who pulls that beautiful shirt on. You are (apparently) a Villa fan. And a bloody priviliged one at that in that you are able to take yourself onto that hallowed ground once fortnight. If you love this club, support it. Regardless of the difficulties we experience on the way. People who dont go to the games, because they cant always say 'its a privilege' ...its not a privilege to drive up the Hagley Road, which can take an hour on a Wednesday night and have the privilege to watch a bunch of tossers lose to sunderland in -5 sleet. (NB I have renewed two season tickets.) lol or catch 2 buses from chemsley wood to and from the games to watch us lose on cold night against sunderland is not a privilege. Haven't renewed yet, probably will just for love of villa but bet alot of people are feeling the same as me at the moment and probably umming and arring about renewing and when you are not on the most amount of money in the world and you see this happening it makes the decision harder.
