  1. Our formation seems to be two isolated strikers and eight others.
  2. I would like to see Helenius get some decent game time in this one.
  3. I agree that we have too many square pegs in round holes, but that is what transfer windows are for.
  4. I always rated Reo-Coker. Ok, not great footballing ability, but strong, fast and had a good engine. Biggest problem with him was his wages and the fact that he was, allegedly, a tool of the highest order. If Sylla turns out to be a similar quality player I would be happy with that, but he does look like he has a bit more skill on the ball.
  5. Disappointed that he isn't getting a chance here when we have so few genuine wide players and the narrow formation isn't working so well.
  6. When was the last time we took a short corner, or showed any sort of creativity from a setpiece? It isn't just the taker of the setpiece at fault here.
  7. What is this 'lack of confidence' that people keep mentioning? He scored the winner against Man City a few weeks ago, and seemed to enjoy it, why should he be lacking in confidence?
  8. Four goals in four games before getting injured...
  9. I would like to see us try 442, Albrighton and Tonev on the wings, Delph and KEA/Sylla in the middle, Benteke and Gabby up front.
  10. Any penalty save is a good save. A good penalty doesn't give them the chance to save it.
  11. Bad result today rather than a bad performance. We were the better team for long periods of the game. I gave Vlaar motm, he did a lot of good work today. Weimann and Luna on the same flank was not good.
  12. Weimann and Luna on the same flank is not good. Need more out of Tonev, I would switch him to the left, we have more options for the right hand side to replace Andi.
  13. Delph will go past Barry like he isn't there, I think we can get at them, but I agree that our midfield looks a bit lightweight.
  14. A least when he dribbles past a few players it gives the crowd a lift if nothing else. Sometimes there isn't much else to get excited about.
  15. KEA wins us the ball more than any other midfielder. There is no point having fine ball players if they haven't got the ball.
  16. KEA has been doing a lot of good destructive work in the middle, he wasn't great yesterday but still did a lot of harrying. Sylla has potential but at times the game seems to go on around him, I dont think he is necessarily a better choice than KEA. Westwood is part of the problem, because he isn't doing what he should be, he disappeared for a large spell in the second half, his set pieces were generally disappointing and there was very little incisive forward passing.
  17. He has been kept out by KEA playing well. Although Sylla shows promise he isn't the answer to our problems. I wouldn't normally want Delph, KEA and Sylla in midfield, but if Westwood continues to play so badly I would bring Sylla or Bacuna into midfield in place of him if we were keeping a three man mid.
  18. Time to change the formation and personnel, at home at least. Teams know how we are going to play and can neutralise us easily. Let's at least surprise them rather than doing exactly what they expect us to do.
  19. it was a bit worrying the way that the rest of the team didn't seem to have any belief that we could score until Benteke came on. Pretty poor team performance today.
  20. We have managed to drag Spurs down to our level for most of the half, lucky goal the difference. The front three need to get into it.
  21. Chiriches looked poor in the cup game, could be a weak link.
  22. Spurs have a lot of strength in depth in their squad but their first eleven isn't really that frightening. I think we should get something out of this game if Tekkers is back.
  23. KEA has done very well for us this season, but his game seems very different to when he first came, he didn't seem to do much pressing back then. He doesn't seem to get much recognition from many on here no matter how well he plays.
  24. I think at times last season Lowton looked completely lost at right back, out of position and not sure what was going on around him. That may have been partly down to the general chaos in the defence and also his willingness to get forward. I'm not having a pop at him, I like him as a player, but we look more solid at the back when he isn't in the team - again, could be down to improved defensive play as a team, and also Bacuna not getting forward as much.
