I just ended up on a player Instagram binge. Started with Samatta and ended up with Reina. I still forget to this day Reina even played a part in our survival. It would make anyone appreciate how far we’ve come. Saw so many training pics and here’s an example of what we were working with two seasons ago. I wanted a new DM tackling machine/pass master/Interceptionist/Hard man more than anyone but if Dean and the boys are happy with what we’ve got then let’s go. Here’s to a big season and hopefully the europa league. UTV

Decent result all things considered. Carney gave a good account of himself in a weakened squad. Best we’ve seen El Ghazi play in the league yet, unlucky with a pass in the second half which could have set Ings through. Big worry for me is our only pattern of play seems to be one of our mids dropping short, passing the ball to Targett and he hits it down the line. We really struggle to create chances any other way. We seem to play it backwards so often. International break could be great for us to get everyone back together now and push on. We had three great fixtures there on paper but we’ve been unlucky with injuries and Covid today.

It’s good to see him having a stormer against Barrow, but I’d rather he played well against Watford and Newcastle. These games are where I want him starting for us.

I think spurs will take West Ham’s spot in 6th this season and the top 5 will include the same teams in whatever order. West Ham had a brilliant season but they haven’t done enough to improve the squad adding the europa league into the mix, if Antonio gets another injury they’ll struggle. They also haven’t replaced Lingard but might sort that before the window shuts. Arsenal are a mess, I’d be surprised if they finish the season with Arteta still in charge, we should be finishing above them. Everton have lost Ancelotti, and James Rodriguez is apparently pushing for a move, Benitez is a good manager but I’m not impressed by their signings and think they’ll probably finish 10th-14th this season. Leeds will always win games with how they play but they’ve conceded 7 goals in two games already, I don’t think they’ll be so successful this year. Everyone knows what to expect now when playing them. As for us I think we’re a much stronger squad this season, on paper we’ve replaced Jack as good as we possibly could have and I think we should be pushing for 7th/8th. Worth mentioning if Spurs lose Kane things could be very different for them, but they’ve shown they can beat anyone without him

Happy to have him as a squad player because of the goals he’s scored last season, but would be fine if he was sold because he offers very little else on the pitch when he plays. And we also have Ings now and who will put away pens. Can’t beat a man, doesn’t carry the ball well, tops the league for mis-controlled passes. It’s really frustrating to watch and think the game goes by with us being completely ineffective on whatever side he’s played on. Happy with him being 3rd/4th choice but we’re an injury away or two from him starting. I think this could be his last season with us as we continue to improve our attacking options and he could prove handy to have for cup games this year.

On paper maybe, but work rate and fitness wise not a chance. We couldn’t afford to have someone come in a demand the wages he would with big questions over his commitment. If he’s not happy and performing on a rumoured 200k a week at spurs I don’t want him anywhere near Villa

1 Goal and 7 assists in that Norwich side who only won 5 games in the season before last. Throughout the season was right beside grealish and de bruyne for chances created. Last season 15 goals and 16 assists and championship player of the year. There was plenty of reasons to hype up the transfer. Had a great game against Walsall in preseason assisting Ollie twice. Then had an injury and looked well off the pace against Watford understandably. Today I thought he was a lot better on the ball and made a few good tackles tracking back. Some nice passing too and I think he’s only going to improve. Give it time

But then if we play Bailey right, Buendia middle , we have no one good enough on the left. And I don’t want Ollie to play there just because he has before. It’s hard to know what’s going to work best for us

I’ve read that Deans said he’s unlikely to start tomorrow, I’d have him on the left otherwise. My mistake I thought St Max played on the left against West Ham, if that’s the case I think Young should be the choice too. If we can keep him quiet I think we’ll be fine

Good player but serious doubts over his commitment. Has had fitness issues etc since he signed and is probably on a few hundred thousand a week. Too much of a risk

I think the issue with this is we’ve already signed 3 attacking players, and will struggle to fit everyone in and find the right balance. Another creative player won’t help this. We have replaced Grealish, we’ll see Bailey on the left I think and I’m happy with that. As for Barkley I thought we played better without him last season. And even though he plays better of the right, Buendia can play that role Barkley played last year and I think he’ll offer much more.

He’s definitely third choice when everyone’s fit, maybe even 4th considering Ollie can play on the left. I would happily cash in as well

I’d like to see Targett start either way, we know he’s good enough and I feel like he’s a player who will struggle to recover if his confidence is shot. I agree either JPG or Chuk, could be a good opportunity for them now we know Bailey won’t start and Ollie’s out

With Bailey unlikely to start and Ollie missing the game it’s hard to be optimistic for tomorrow, but I still can’t wait for it all the same. Martinez Cash Konsa Mings Targett Luiz Mcginn Buendia Ramsey JPB Ings That would be my 11, I thought Ramsey played well when he came on last weekend. I hope we’ve drilled into whoever starts on the right how dangerous Saint Maximin is down the wing, Cash will need to be supported more than Targett was last weekend

I suppose this is all it boils down to, and I trust those in charge based off how we’ve handled ourselves these last few season. I personally think we’re a bit more unbalanced as a team at the minute with our new signings and adding JWP into the mix won’t help but if it’s what Dean and the board want then away we go.

Brick shithouse maybe not no, but a DM who can hold their position and support the back line when Watford were breaking maybe so. Nakamba was constantly out of position either due to being told to move forward with the play or through doing so himself either way it didn’t help when Watford were able to break. Someone to play that position could have made a difference and we wouldn’t have to rely on McGinn busting a gut down the line to support Targett or cover for his lack of pace/fitness multiple times.

I don’t think anyone’s doubting how good of a player James ward prowse is, the issue I have with this transfer myself is I don’t believe he’s what’s missing in our midfield. He’s an upgrade on our midfielders yes but we don’t need an upgrade on the type of midfielders we have we need a completely different type of midfielder all together IMO. The reason people are ‘creaming’ themselves over Sarr is he fits the mould of midfielder many including myself think we need. Ings, Bailey and Buendia were all statements of intent I think we’ve shown everyone now what we’re aiming for. Add JWP to our team that played Watford on Saturday and I feel the result would have been the same
