  1. Probably a load of nonsense, if he is after a move he’d be better moving to Germany
  2. He’s another midfielder I think we’d see the best from used differently. He’s not good enough defensively
  3. I think he’s going to be great but to play him there in place of any of our wide men would be wasteful imo. I wish we saw more of him this season
  4. Grealish and Carney couldn’t be any more different mate. He also hasn’t got the pace. Think Paul Pogba trying to play that grealish role that’s basically what you’re suggesting
  5. I understand where he’s coming from 100% and in the space of time given you can only expect so much. The original point came after Lexicon said we had the same philosophy and tactics, I just disagree. We saw it with our own eyes on Saturday and we’re seeing media reports about the changes being implemented to the players. I’m done with the talk of what smith has done now and constantly comparing everything, especially when it’s obvious changes have been made. But I won’t pretend the improved work of our new coaches is no different to our previous.
  6. Wild reply, but that doesn’t surprise me.
  7. Then you’ve been watching a different Villa to me this season
  8. Silly? My reply was to your comment that we have the same tactics and philosophy that we’ve had for a while. We clearly had different tactics on Saturday, and it might be too early to talk about our philosophy but it’s been made clear that things have been made more intense for the players, and evidently so based on the stats. Gerrards success is irrelevant to my comment
  9. It’s clear to see there’s been a change, wether you want to see it or not is up to you
  10. My points mostly based around the fact we had a system that worked last year then signed a striker who would be expected to start, either with or in place of one of our best players last season. It was unnecessary and has proven so this season. I would rather Ings was still playing for Southampton tbh
  11. I disagree, worth noting it was always Ings who got hooked by Dean also. Ollie offers a lot more especially if we’re going one up top and he proved it again today. I always get such a buzz when he scores
  12. He’s feeding off scraps make no mistake about it. Sometimes we’d get the ball in our half and he seemed to be too deep and we had nothing on offer further up the pitch. Ollie starts in front of him for me every day of the week, crazy signing IMO
  13. A second striker was essential yeah, but if you sign a player like Danny Ings for 30 million he has to play games. Forcing the striker who scored 15 last season out of position just to accommodate, or shoehorn them into a two up top.
  14. Had a good game but I still wince every time he’s in possession. Had 96.4% passing accuracy only behind el ghazi (6 passes and 100%) from 28 passes. Joint second most tackles (3) with mcginn, Targett was first with 7. I thought Bissouma was a level above tho, he stopped two of our counters in the first half and one in the second with some great tackles. He had 7 tackles and 1 interception and 52 passes at 92.3% accuracy. He would transform our midfield
  15. From what we’ve seen it looks like he can’t have too long on the ball he’s definitely not a dribbler. He runs into danger and gives it away. I don’t know how well fit him into the front 3, being more narrow should help him but it’s just not happening for him at the minute
  16. Ollie definitely can yeah but Ings and Ollie shouldn’t be on the pitch at the same time, it hasn’t worked once this season. We didn’t need Ings to start with
  17. Been saying it for time now, there’s a player there if he’s used correctly. If he had a Bissouma behind him we’d be flying
  18. He shouldn’t be competing with bailey , Ings should be competing for ollies place up top
  19. Have to admit wasn’t too happy seeing Young brought on but he was brilliant
  20. Context mate, we were never going to dominate Brighton. Brighton can dominate pretty much any team in this league. That’s a weeks work we’ve seen today and it was much better than we’ve been seeing for some time now
  21. I feel like we’re way too narrow, when we get the ball we can’t get it moving and we’re so tight to each other
  22. Ramsey is so lively on the ball, can move up the pitch with it so quickly. Mcginn was everywhere there. Ollie had some nice play on the ball, we don’t know how to use Ings I feel. Buendia showed again if he can get the ball and face their defence he’ll create chances. He’s not got the legs to be up and down the pitch though it seems. Cash was solid, Emi was too. Targett had some good tackles. Big improvement than what we’ve seen in however long. As commentary said Brighton dominated possession against Liverpool recently
  23. I would like to see this but Mings for axel and Targett to start. Mings isn’t a left back, regardless if he used to be or not he should never play there again. Lamptey will turn him inside out.
  24. The only way we’ll know is if he’s consistently used the same way he is for Scotland
  25. There’s loads of managers you could argue have a better CV than Gerrard, I don’t care about them though because they’re not our manager now, Gerrard is. I’d say many of the 20 shortlisted had better CVs than him, but he impressed at interview and has shown promise he has what it takes to be a successful football manager.
