Hats off to the landlord of the random Irish pub I'm in in Albufeira. He didn't give up after spells of BBC one, BBC two, BBC one Scotland and then finally gave up on the BBC front to find a random Portuguese sports channel showing it. Now I'm enjoying the game while the rest of the bar is dedicated to an Irish wedding reception.

The atmosphere at kick off was hugely positive, Newcastle were in champs league and signed some great players. The fans had huge energy and passed that on to their team. Hats off. We needed to weather the first 15, but we didn't. It would have been difficult for anyone.

Well that was a hard watch from the Newcastle end. Before the match they asked if any Villa fans were there and I was the only one. After the game and in the post match speech by Super Mac I had him telling me not to worry and some sort of commiseration round of applause. For me the match was gone as soon as they scored at the start, and too many bad performances, Konsa, Kamara and Bailey all not at it.

Gutted- Im a big fan of Buendia. I dont think he started Premier league under Emery but he was certainly going to start a lot of cup games and prob one of the first subs to come on.

Amazing today- I was unsure when he signed as we'd spent so much on Digne but its such a great signing, the guy has great control and is key to the formation.

He's great as a lone striker leading the line and thrives with the responsibility. Why two managers thought shoe horning in Ings and changing formation was the answer I will never know. We just needed a back up happy to be on the bench.

As long as we stay with this guy and back him to the hilt when the inevitable bad run comes I fully believe he will get us into Europe, and quite possibly win us a cup.

I wouldn't have minded them winning before but listening to the radio on the day was almost constant propaganda for Newcastle. Glad they lost.

Someone posted a while ago that it was a good time to play Man City. It was crazy, it's clearly one of the worst times. You're playing the best team in the league, with the best squad depth who know if they beat you they go close to their rival who they play that week. On top of that they've just been given a massive chip on their shoulder and their delusional fans are riled up to shout how much they aren't cheats. Was never going to happen today.
