  1. two on the spur, make it happen Villa. anything else would be stupidly disappointing.
  2. yes, it's very worrying. but we must also remember that the team has the ability. I don't think it'll be as dismal as this throughout the season. at least I hope not.
  3. Or if we draw, depending on the Hull vs spurs result. Quite right! I'm getting too gloomy in my old age! seems like Hull are experiencing a similar situation against Spurs as us this fall, so we might just retain our posish ^^
  4. Lamberts Team Talk Tomorrow… "Apes… Together... Strong, We Go Again" yeah Crystal Palace put in a really good effort. I sincerely doubt we'll do the same tomorrow.
  5. Well, I don't know exactly who is being referred to here, but from my perspective I'm willing to give the manager the opportunity to win some of the easier games that we have coming up. I think that's fair enough. If we're still in this position at the end of the year there will be no more excuses. I suppose Burnley is no longer an easy game. Who is left that is? Leyton Orient? Oh shit... yup, no easy games. it's all degrees of difficulty ranging from maybe to not a chance. ^^
  6. There really isn't anything speaking in our favor ahead of this game. maybe that's a reason we could knick it? I hope this lady smiles in our favor on monday night:
  7. a solid 14th place or something along those lines. exciting times..
  8. Monday night slaughter coming up. at least it's after the weekend so the saturday/sunday won't be spoiled. would so so love a win.
  9. Cant agree with that at all I'm afraid. Pulis would absolutely be a better manager and is gettable. History dictates the next manager will be a guy at the peak of his powers (however high that is) who we will then ruin over a period of 18 months 2 years, he will then leave us and then disappear into the ether. Left field suggestion - what about Hope Powell? I wonder what Make Mine Vanilla has to say about this suggestion Another attempt by the vile matriarchy to infiltrate one of the few pleasure left available to the working man? oo how dare they?!
  10. Bit harsh don't you think? I'm sure there are people on here who think you, me and others talk nonsense at times as well but don't feel the need to point it out. I think a lot of us probably talk nonsense a few times. I think that's different than talking down to people as if they aren't capable of understanding the sport like you do. Would you be so kind as to point out some instances of my talking down to people? I don't usually intend to do so unless they really are idiots. meow this is a class example of tones being interpreted differently ey? for the nerdier of us: http://www.apa.org/monitor/feb06/egos.aspx
  11. considering everything. yes, I'd be happy with a draw against Southampton.
  12. Can we stop with the absurd conspiracy theories? He limped off in the middle of an international game - same goes for his earlier injury where we all saw it happen against Hull. What absurd conspiracy is this? Ive just said I bet he will not play for us again and be fit in time to join his new club. Where is the conspiracy there? in the ether between the fabric of words lies the conspiracy
  13. yeah our injury list at the back isn't exactly comforting. that seemed like our only pillar of strength in our squad judging from the start of the season.
  14. Then maybe by the law of averages they're due a win against us? I see it like this, they're a better team in a superb form and we're a poor side in an atrocious form and without much threat going up. Taking that into consideration with the other point being that we're horrid at home and it really doesn't look very bright for us. Yes, sometimes that doesn't matter and it's not impossible that we won't sneak a win or hold our own for a draw. However, I'm not betting on it.
  15. Couldn't agree more. Baker is really showing himself to be a much better player this season than anything I would've expected from last season. I sincerely hope it's not just a phase, but rather evidence of real improvement.
  16. but that shouldn't be the basis for sacking or backing him....its just giving vent to your feelings ( which is understandable) well yeah, obviously. that was posted roughly a minute after the full time whistle. ^^ either way I find it harder and harder to support him considering how he seems to have such a hard time responding to changes in games. also I think that we are far too inclined to wait and see what the opposition does instead of tactically trying to control/change a game ourselves. To be fair, in today's game there wasn't anything on the bench that could've helped us today. And with them bringing on Carroll and Cole we needed Senderos and Clark so Lambert made the right decisions in my opinion. I disagree. For the most part it was a game that either team could have taken. I saw their changes as being more aggressive in that they wanted to make the most out of the situation and try and win it. I think our changes, when they finally came, was more reactionary to the rising pressure they were putting us under and that Baker got hurt. Basically we allowed them to steer the game in their favor and we got lucky in all fairness to get a point out of it. Had the game gone on for 5 more minutes, I suspect they would have finally netted due to the sheer amount of chances we allowed them to create. Maybe we could have given Bacuna or Grealish a shot instead of Weimann for a change? It might have worked or it might not have worked. However, we'll never know if we never try to change things up.

  18. I fear we are still too reactionary. Lambert doesn't make any changes and we always invite too much pressure. it's dangerous and punishing more often than not.
  19. would've called for Lambert's head if they snuck one in there at the end. we invited all the pressure due to our passive tactics. I'm not pleased with the display, but I'm very pleased with the point.
  20. aaaah hell no, not Clark! and they bring on Andy Carroll? wow, just wow...
  21. I feel like we're handing them the game now. this is so unnerving to watch!
