  1. I don't think playing in a 5th rate league, where fat ****ers like Kris Commons can score 20 a season would benefit anyone tbh
  2. Would be a good player... Him one side and n'zogbia the other.... Benteke/kozak/bent in the middle..... On paper would do damage! Also he's good on FIFA so screw it! Fatem Ben Arfa. Have either of you actually seen this guy play?
  3. There must have been something in there, for us to sign him. Admittedly, I have no idea what, but there must!!!
  4. I don't think the guy does bleed claret and blue. He coasted for about 5 years here while picking up big money, I think it is a job out of pity tbh.
  5. Indeed but saying £40m over two seasons doesn't quite give the same impression. No it doesn't but you are saying over two seasons not me. I can understand that saying £40m over two seasons works better for your stance in being critical of Lambert but as you now admit, the fact is that its £43m over 4 windows. And that to me is important, not only because its accurate but because there is absolutely nothing to suggest that all the money spent in either season was available to Lambert all in one go in the summer window. Now it might have been, and he might have held some back for the January windows. But the impression I've got is that he has spent what was available to him in the two summer windows and then had to try and prize more out of Lerner in the two January windows. That is to me at least a factor or possible factor that should be considered because it reduces the amount available to him in the summer windows from the £20m you are suggesting that he had. So, £43m in 4 windows is the accurate picture for discussing his spending. He's bought one player, Sylla, in the January window. When he'd spent his £20m in his first summer season, he was quoted as saying he was very happy with his business. What was he gonna say? "I couldn't get the players I wanted, so we have signed some guy from the French division 2, I am not happy with our business, we are ****."
  6. If fatty Mccormack is worth 8 then I would value Benteke somewhere around the 35 mark. £35 billion.
  7. Didn't nobody tell you, injured players don't attend games
  8. Probably. Doubt anyone will. Him scoring in pre-season may help Him getting on the slim fast and treadmill would be a bigger help
  9. Lambert is just as bad a manager as McLeish, if not worse. Try again.
  10. I would love Borini here, he is a good finisher, can play either side or up top and has balls of steel. A big game mentality. ...saying that, if Sunderland want to pay £14m for him then good luck to them. He won't get them into Europe and he won't increase in value. When you spend £14m or £18m just to stand still in the PL you know you are **** in the long run. Some clubs never learn, I would like to think we have.
  11. Ridiculous comment. However bad you may perceive him to be, of course he is not on a par with Ellis. Yep, he is worse. Not worth discussing. Ellis left a sound football club, Lerner will leave a **** black hole.
  12. Sorry mate got confused because you said nice to meet you kev. My bad. And thank you mate. I do hope Jack can keep his head down whatever happens. Surprised someone hasn't mentioned that Jacks in the squad for the USA tour... Only one to travel out of the younger lot. Happy days. People only post when they think they have something to moan about unfortunately. A joke, right? I was being a bit flippant but on the last page we have one guy moaning about Jack having a drink, one guy moaning because he is playing in the U21 and one guy moaning about him not being first team next year and going out on loan.

  14. Fair enough I really don't think we have anything to worry about in terms of relegation dogfights this season though. If we keep Vlaar, and I really don't know what everyone is worrying about. We will have Okore back, Zoggy, Hutton(meh), Kozak, Richardson and Cole. A lot of experience that will help everyone. Would be nice to add one or two quality additions, but this squad should tide us over for another year, which is all we can hope for under current ownership. I am certainly not worrying about what other clubs are spending.

  16. QPR spent more than us a few summers ago, Cardiff spent more last summer, Fulham spent more last summer. What is the point?
  17. I have lost count the number of times I have watched a game on TV, World Cup, PL, CL, Championship and the camera has panned to an injured player in the stands with his suit on. I have never read so much drivel in all my life.
  18. When Bent was injured? No when Bent was sat in the stands at Villa Park in a suit. In my very limited understanding of the mechanical workings of suits I always thought you could wear one of them even when you were injured. IIRC there was a hoohaa because he came back from one of his many injuries, declared himself "fit", and didn't walk straight back into the squad. As soon as he did get back in the team a few weeks later he got reinjured straight away. You don't go to the stadium if you are injured. He was available for selection but didn't make the bench. Said who?
  19. I just said his name flippantly. Paul McGrath mentions him in his book, basically he had lots of new and bright ideas but he wasn't manager material, personality wise and was walked over. Been a while since I read it, but that's how I remember it.
  20. Worst player ever to wear the shirt,
  21. Welbeck, while not united quailty would be a brilliant signing for WBA Not that it will be him though.
  22. We couldn't play 4-4-2 as we didn't have the strength in the middle, we could only play one up top, rightly Benteke. Bowery was played on the wing, No whatever you think of Bent as an asset, can we all agree that Bent could not and will not ever be able to play on the wing?
  23. Heaven forbid we experiment in friendlies! Think of the children, won't someone please think of the children!!!
  24. They could sign Messi, Suarez and Ronaldo though, they will still have Alan **** Irvine as their manager though.
  25. He was though, he is one of the worst players I have ever saw in a VIlla shirt. Never saw a RB got drawn into the middle of the pitch so much, never saw a RB time and time again get done by a simple one-two. People remember him as a thug, I just remember he as complete rubbish. I am sorry
