  1. What makes me laugh - albeit mirthlessly - is watching his useless attempts at tackling. Just watch him and marvel at how astoundingly clueless he really is. I can imagine opposition managers telling their players: "See that Ireland? Well, when he comes in to try to take the ball just turn. Turn anywhere, it won't matter. Whatever way you turn the thick **** will have found a way to get it wrong and will be behind you in a trice. He'll do that 99 times out of a hundred but don't worry about losing possession. He'll only out-think himself and end up in a useful position the once so I'll not bollock you. Back in the day the Pittsburgh Steelers had a defence they called the Steel Curtain and they were mean. However Villa have the Meringue Midfield so go and enjoy yourselves."
  2. It will be a summer of change anyway. If things go according to form the club won't stay up. With the current squad I believe we go down. We'll lose a lot of players as a result, I'm sure, just not necessarily the ones we want gone. For example, a player not ever being selected isn't going to give a **** what division he isn't playing in if he's happy to Zigic us until his contract expires.
  3. I don't think selling the club at the moment is any more on the agenda as buying players this window is.
  4. Yep, has he spent £8m plus 50% of any player sale revenue (not that that would be much!)? So the obvious answer is he has spent more than that so that particular constraint was either bollocks or Lerner changed his mind on transfer funds.
  5. I wonder if anyone with a better memory than me can weigh in on this. Back in the summer a poster - villanonsea, I believe - made some statements on finances available to whoever took over from McLeish. I think - but could be wrong - that he claimed it was about £8m + 50% of player sales. Now he got plenty of "Prove it" and "You know **** all" stick and may well have dented his credibility with transfer claims that turned out to be bollocks. However, my question is, is that what Lambert has spent thus far or thereabouts? Was it a case of Randy to Lambert "Here's what I can give you now and we'll look again in January." Come January it's, "Oh, nope, had a look and won't be giving you anymore at the moment even though you didn't spend it all." Or did he spend it all and Lerner just isn't giving him any more?
  6. Exactly. Anyone who gives a kicking to a chav word removed when they behave like a chav word removed is OK by me. If it happened often enough chav words removed would stop behaving like chav words removed and the world would be a better place.
  7. That's how I see it. The little **** deserved a boot for his antics trying to delay the game.
  8. Thanks for the heads up. I didn't realise it was back already.

    Relegation

Not voted in this until today but now I have. My vote is we will go down unless we see some radical transfer activity in the next couple of weeks. All the indicators currently are that just ain't going to happen.
  10. I think I'm going to kick off a BB re-watch from the beginning. Should keep me going into 2013! Yes, agree. Dem, you should take that spoiler out.
  11. Spurs have been shit. We gave them a whole half just them against the keeper and they still didn't score. We'll hammer them 4-0 second half.
  12. A shame. He made some great programmes that I absolutely loved when I was a kid. http://www.dailymail...es-aged-83.html The creator of Thunderbirds, Gerry Anderson, has died aged 83. His son Jamie Anderson posted on his blog today that the man behind the classic sci-fi series passed away peacefully in his sleep at midday today. Mr Anderson had been battling dementia for the past two years and his condition had deteriorated rapidly in the last six months. He was a film and TV producer for more than 40 years but his most famous creation was the 1960s TV show Thunderbirds. The series - which used a form of marionette puppetry dubbed 'supermarionation' - became popular around the world. Writing on his blog, Jamie Anderson said: 'I’m very sad to announce the death of my father, Thunderbirds creator, Gerry Anderson. He died peacefully in his sleep at midday today (26th December 2013), having suffered with mixed dementia for the past few years. He was 83.' Fans have been paying tribute to the creator. Chairman of fan club Fanderson Nick Williams said: 'To those who met him Gerry was a quiet, unassuming but determined man. His desire to make the best films he could drove him and his talented teams to innovate, take risks, and do everything necessary to produce quite inspirational works. Gerry’s legacy is that he inspired so many people and continues to bring so much joy to so many millions of people around the world.' Mr Anderson's inspiration for Thunderbirds came from a mining disaster in West Germany in October 1963 that gave him the idea of forming a show about a rescue organisation. After much convincing, Mr Anderson agreed to let his wife Sylvia performed the voice of Lady Penelope, one of Thunderbirds' most famous characters. Century 21 Productions was so sure of the series success they proposed a feature-film version before the pilot had even aired. The 32-episode series was not initially successful in the United States because it was only given a limited release but it was a major hit with young audiences in the UK, Australia and other countries.
