  1. I find it strange that people assume that a burglar would also be a potential murderer. I would think that quite a few if not most burglars steal to make money, taking a life is something else entirely. not that I have any experience, but I think a burglar would run as soon as he/she heard someone coming down the stairs. Why are we entertaining the idea that your life would be in danger if there is someone in your house? (Some criminals wouldn’t care if they steal or kill, but I don’t think that is the majority)
  2. Luis Suarez is apparantly available for about £30m. Cheeky bid? he could help Messi settle in England
  3. I had to laugh out loud, this is so over the top. She may have convinced herself though.

Immigration Nation. hard to believe this is real, but it is unfortunately. They even deport people who served in their army. Goodbye respect for veterans.
  5. I would like to say it gets easier, but having now watched all 6 episodes, it is all horrible, but from a different angle. i really ‘liked’ the episode about ‘coming in the right way’. It shows that the argument about not being racist, just wanting these immigrants to come into the country the right way, is not an argument at all.

Then again, his supporters will still think he is.
  7. We need to get the job done by April
  8. I'm at episode 3 of Immigration Nation, following ICE agents and illegal immigrants in the USA during the Trump years. Episode 3 focused on Veterans who are (about to be) deported since they don't have the papers. Thank you for your service, now get out!
  9. It thought their 'moral and ethical concern' comes mostly from the current administration's timing. Trump is against vote by mail and all of a sudden they are defunding the USPS. Why was this not an issue 3 years ago when there was no election coming up? Or when he was voting by mail in Florida? Could it possbily be that he thinks voting by mail will help people vote who will not vote for him? I'd say there is reason for 'moral and ethical concern for the USPS' when it is being defunded in an obvious move to suppres votes (which he literally said on TV).
  10. I read that Leeds offered €35m for Jonathan David, but the player didn't want to go there. He is now going to Lille for €27.5m plus add-ons. That's got to sting a little, although Lille is top team in France, playing in Europe.
  11. Remember when it was 300? So much has happened since then.
  12. ‘Shopkeeper’ is too long/difficult for them
  13. I agree. But at the same time, if we were still to buy another striker for £40m, that would mean we would have about £40m left for every other position combined. I know striker is an important position for us, buts 60% of our budget? Let's hope other targets are not as expensive as we all think eg. Buendia/Benrahma for £15m rather than £25m
  14. I'm not convinced on Edouard. Not that I don't think he's a good player, but I find it strange that people say that we should stay away from leagues like Belgium, but at the same time want a player from a far inferior league. Playing at Celtic is not really difficult, since there is little to no opposition in that league. His stats are great, but does that make him good enough for the PL? I'd rather spend on Belotti, who has performed in a very good league for a mid table team. Him coming to us is mostly about him playing in a better league and hopefully staying at a mid table team. Admittedly, I have not seen much of these players, but then again, I do not think many of us here have. Most shouts are about stats and a youtube video
  15. I understand your point of view. This was just a question of ‘100 million to spend on 4 players.’ So getting more players was not an option Getting these without anyone leaving would put us in a better position IMO if we can get rid of Jota, Lansbury, Kalinic and replace them with something better, I am all up for it. I do not want a transfer summer like last year however, where we buy a lot of players to get the numbers but not enough quality.
  16. Belotti £40m Benrahma £22m Eze £18m Buendia £20
  17. If pedro is still available for free, i wouldn’t mind us signing him
  18. I disagree. Before you know it, we’ll have american situations where ads are interrupted to show you football. (Big stretch, I know). It all takes the tempo our of the game. No doubt someone will find this to be profitable and UEFA/FIFA/FA will make this permanent.
  19. Do you honestly think Abraham is worth as much as Grealish? One was decent in a side that is mostly dominating and on the attack in this league (much better in the same situation but a league lower last year), the other carried an entire team to promotion last year and kept them up this year. Lukaku went to Inter for £60m last year, Salah was £40m 3 years ago, Aubameyang £60m 2 years ago (I know prices have gone up since). Abraham is not worth more than that. £40million max to me (These 3 examples were the first I could think of at the top clubs over the last few years)
  20. I would imagine them doing a Norwich should they come up. Not spending any money, their current squad showing talent but relegated at the end of the season. then selling their most valuable assets and combined with the TV money and parachute payments, building on a better squad and bigger club.
