  1. I pretty much was, being self critical.....just tried to drag a few more in for comfort. Perhaps All was a bit much...sorry.
  2. TRO

    Pau Torres

Could Pau play CDM when Tyrone returns. In certain tough games, him and Kamara, could be formidable....with Dougie playing further up. just a thought.
  3. TRO

    Ezri Konsa

could Ezri and Ty be reunited, with Pau as DM.
  4. yeah.....I thought he struggled a bit with Dougie, under Dean Smith but that was top drawer with Youri, on Sunday. I think he is a better, overall player now, and has the benefit of Unai's directorship.
  5. He is not the most technically gifted, but his left peg is not bad at all....a bit underrated. I think John has some William Wallace characteristics too, he inspires and resists the bully very well......he did when we beat Newcastle 3-0, he led from the front and inspired the play.....he has off days, sure. I think John is a players, player.....they want him there.....I think the manager wants him in there too.
  6. We are ALL guilty of premature judgement. The ability to integrate in to the mechanism of a team, takes time.....and we are all too judgmental too soon.....because we feel obliged to be. Just because we have been watching the game for years, we feel obliged to know......and I think it's prudent to say, not sure yet. I could get annoyed with myself, for doing it. Many of us are impatient. I know I am, sadly.
  7. a mirror of the ball he played for Lukaku at Wembley.
  8. pings the ball with aplomb.
  9. I am sufficiently nourished by Unai and his teams work as a whole.....That I will just sit back and enjoy, the Summer transfer business, in the knowledge, we are in good hands. Rarely before, have I felt like that, Maybe, Graham T and the 2 Ronnies.......but now, I just rock back in my chair, with my clay pipe.....and let him get on with it. He is, that good.
  10. do you know, how he has been fairing?
  11. It's going to be hard to fill all aspects of criteria, in the future rounds of transfers, we have to consider the following: We have academy starlets all looking for a pathway in to the first team, and we have to show, prospective new young talent, there is such a thing Where we have arrived at 4th, it's a hard place to improve from but we need the following: more consistency bigger squad depth younger age profile We are balancing FFP so value for money is paramount, that's tricky, with the other criteria. Birmingham is not the most attractive destination to live. However, the attractive bits to new prospects are: Unai Emery and his team, with the keys to the castle The Exponential rise of the teams fortunes European Football Team full of Internationals Full house every home game Resourceful, committed and ambitious owners. The worlds best Goal Keeper. Club stability. Fabulous Training facilities.
  12. I think Morgan Rogers could end up, like that, just needs more games and Unai's tutelage.
  13. He signed Boubacar Kamara too. I think it's a bit narrow minded, if anybody uses that as a reason to be picky. The club has to respect the decisions previous managers made, good or bad as a part of the deal...We have examples of good and bad. buy hey.....If an offer comes in the manager will balance his options, to suit his plans...I am sure we will all back that.
  14. By us?.....not so sure, it's my business?....or in fact anything, I want to consider. I think there are demarcation lines as a fan....and personally, I don't want to cross them. I know my place as a fan/supporter and I know, what does and doesn't concern me. It does depend on how Emery rates him, or see's the value of him.....but its not my job, to busy myself with that....I just look at his play and effect on the team. In all my supporting life watching Villa, I have never been interested in players wages.....I have always felt its the clubs business, and the player....not mine. I don't wish to be blunt.....but that's the way I feel.
  15. I am a big advocate of clean sheets, as many on here know. I think it's the foundation, for everything we do, and I think we have one of the best in the business, between the sticks, to help us do it.
  16. A bit underrated IMO. I don't understand, the constant reference to his wages.....We had a choice not to sign him, no arm up the back, or gun to the head. The club has a decision to make, when they sign players.....no good bitching about it afterwards. He has played well this season.....from my perspective, his wages are his and the clubs business....not mine. I just want players to play well.....I don't want to know what they earn.
  17. I think the pundits are told, what bias to apply....else no future gigs.
  18. I think the Arsenal game....showed we can play with a savvy appreciation of defensive work. It was a canny display. I was taken aback, at some of the performances from essentially attacking players. I think if we don't play like that in future games, it's out of choice, because we've showed we can.
  19. I agree. I thought they won more duels, than normal. I read somewhere, that Unai told them to be brave and not worry about errors....I think it showed as you say.
  20. I don't profess to, and don't want to....I have no interest in gambling. It was just a throw away comment.
  21. it's just going to be a tough game for both sides. I don't think anyone can read anything in to it, with certainty.....it's all on the day. I do think whoever wins this, has a very good chance to go all the way.
  22. Its like......Villa beat Arsenal, so Arsenal can't win the Title.....absolute Bolleaux...some of the junk flying around is laughable. Its like Arsenals stock has dropped, losing to us.......This is a team that has lost 2 home games all season.
  23. I think the game showed why the bookies are rich. No game in this league is a dead rubber....it's all on the day. Arsenal fans were complaining that we was winning all the duels in the second half....we was, but it hasn't always been like that, in every game....particularly recently. We showed many qualities on the day, many of us have been searching for....and it's a delight, when we see them. We have to try and bring some of that to France, and if we do, we have a real chance to progress....but it's hard. These games are not easy.
  24. that's a strength and how it should be....Its a shame sections of the media, struggled with it. Folk saying the title is all over, is rubbish. I hope they win it, then we can say, we got the double over the champions.....with 2 clean sheets.
  25. No you, you are not reading too much in to it.....you are right. They ( media) just crave headlines, irrespective of the truth....and we are not headlines, unless it's something derogatory....If the owners were selling, we would get attention. We just have to do, what we did yesterday....and to hell with them. They don't report on games, they just paint pictures, to suit their narrative.....it won't change, you can't force folk to like you.....and we can't make folk, feel about our club, like we do. It even shows with the likes of Dion Dublin and Paul Merson, as random examples, how the producers, just get them to say, what they want......To listen to Dion, you would think he played most of his career with Man U instead of 12 games. It quite remarkable, really when he played 155 for us. Most folk in the media see us as a mild irritation, and since we have had a manager, that can challenge the status quo, they try to ignore us.
