I don't know much about him, other than remembering bethe sitters he missed for them at Villa Park last season, when they were looking like the might escape the drop if they beat us. his movement was good but his finishing was shocking.

Thanks for posting the video of RM's goals and assists. he looks the business. I haven't seen anything of him before but he certainly has a swagger about him. interesting that there were no headers in that video. it suggests that, if he signs, we intend to try playing football next season, and not lump,it up to the big man. i will say though, we desperately need someone who is going to create the chances for him. whether at means our current midfield playing more advanced, or bringing in someone, I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

A few short days ago, the dream scenario was that we saw the back of Lerner, and got bought out by a rich individual who has drive, ambition and a view of a (bright) future for the club. The icing on the cake would be that a new owner would be Wanda, who would have access to serious money and more importantly would have high level contacts that 'might' lead to untold riches and future glory days. Well, other than it not being Wanda, but by all accounts is just as successful, it's seems eveything other part of the dream could come true. The Hollis interview on the BBC website is incredibly interesting and suggests that this really could be 'game changing'. I am not wet behind the ears or naive, and certainly don't take eveything I read or hear at face value, but I really want to believe that the people involved in this deal, on both sides, are the experienced, knowledgeable and honest enough for this to be the real deal......literally.

Villa are in HK for the soccer 7's. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Hollis is over there for that competition (if he's over there at all) and the Meaning Evil has got it completely arse about face as usual.

Hedge funds, venture capitalists , private equity firms. i don't know vey much about high finance, but all of these 'labels' sound impersonal, and a bit like gambling with the club. that said, high finance, and the right people in place might be the way to go for the future. who knows?

Buy cheap, sell high? the sell high aspect doesn't work though does it? Randy has been trying to sell a premier league club for 2-3 years for £250m reducing down to £150m. even this season, knowing that TV money was coming, no one jumped in to buy the club and save it. the club is running at a loss, with dwindling commercial revenue because of relegation. so, even if Chinese VC's bought the club for £100m, with reduced income, high running costs, the need for investment on the playing side, and the debt, they would still need to chuck in multi millions. They would never make a profit on the club, even if we got promoted at the first attempt. And that's on the assumption there would be buyers out there. For me, this doesn't stack up.
