  2. said this in the ratings thread on the main forum, Sorenson, i believe was at fault with the goal along with Hughes for not stopping the cross in the first place, and Barry for not tracking Voltz into the box, but i dont know wether Barry was supposed to be marking Voltz, anyways, back to Sorenson.... when the ball is crossed he takes two strides off his line and comes to collect the ball, then changes his mind and by the time he got back to the line the ball was passed him. it was a very slack goal to give away considering how well we have been defensivly this year.
  3. the ball was whipped in and dawson was unmarked at the far post, he missed the ball completely and hit the post but the goal wouldnt have counted as he was offside anyway

  5. ive said it before, i dont think MON will have a budget to work to, he will identify the player he wants and its up to Randy to sort out a figure. its not like were going to be mega spenders like chelsea, we will now be in the Spurs, Arsenal bracket of buying players, i.e. £8-10million players, instead of the £1-2million budget players we have brought in the last few years
  6. if Russia invaded Turkey from the rear, would grease help?
  7. some more commentators gaffes "You need 5 or 6 players if your going to have an 8 man wall"- Lawro in the England v Paraguay match at the world cup 'If that had gone in, it would have been a goal.' - David Coleman 'Sporting Lisbon in their green and white hoops, looking like a team of zebras.' - Peter Jones 'Forest have now lost six matches without winning.' - David Coleman I was a young lad when I was growing up.' - David O'Leary 'I took a whack on my left ankle, but something told me it was my right.' - Lee Hendrie 'I couldn't settle in Italy - it was like living in a foreign country.' - Ian Rush 'We lost because we didn't win.' - Ronaldo
  8. his die to win attitude was great, it was his i8njure players at all costs attitude that was wrong
  9. i hope he fails, the man is a complete arse, dont get me wrong, great player, and im proud to say ive seen him play at VP, but his attitude was wrong when he went on the pitch, and after what he did to haaland i lost all respect for him

  13. it just isnt praticle for padfield and his muppet brigade to bid now, his run out of time, and even if he did bid surely doug can tell his to shove it. and it wouldnt surprise me if padfield is intrested in the supposed newcastle takeover
  14. RANDY LERNER has inched closer towards completing the £62.6million takeover of Aston Villa — as rival consortium AV06 face a rap across the knuckles from the Takeover Panel. AV06, fronted by judge Nicholas Padfield, announced on Tuesday that they would be mounting a £70m counter-bid. But to go public with an intention is against the complicated Stock Exchange rules. Now some investors may decide to hang on to their holdings, hoping to rake in even more money. That could slam the brakes on Lerner’s buy-out — delaying it until after the transfer window closes. AV06 have nearly run out of time to make an unconditional offer for the club. If they fail to approach the brokers Rothschild today, then Lerner can put the champagne on ice. The American billionaire’s bid was accepted by Villa chairman Doug Ellis on Monday. Fellow majority shareholder Jack Petchey also agreed to sell his 20 per cent, giving Lerner 56 per cent of the club. He can complete the takeover 21 days from his offer — and sooner if shareholders agree to sell immediately. clicky
  15. probably been covered but Statement from Browns owner Randy Lerner August 14, 2006 On Sunday evening, Reform Acquisitions, which is owned by Randy Lerner bid for Aston Villa FC, a Premiership Football Club in Birmingham, England. This bid was made in accordance with British takeover law under which the bid must remain outstanding for 21 days after which, should there be no superior bid, the purchase would occur. In effect, the Club is a public company and is therefore being purchased from its shareholders. “The basis for acquiring Aston Villa is that it is a storied Club dating from the 1870’s with periods of treasured memories and glory,†said Lerner. “Currently it faces the need for reinvestment in a variety of areas which many of its competitors have underway or have completed in recent years. The opportunity to be a part of strengthening Villa’s business operations and facilities represents a broad set of challenges that I’m eager to take on.†Cleveland Brows O/S
  16. can someone answer this question if padfield or whoever increase bids to the 5% required, does doug have to accept the bid because he has already agreed to sell at a lower price?

  21. so it looks like there will be movement this week, doug did say "weeks not months", i assume, well, im actually hoping that this week Lerner has been checking the clubs finances and rotchildes have been doing likewise to Lerner, and now everything has been given a thumbs up and Randy will make a bid, Doug will advise shareholders what the best thing to do would be and hopefully RL will be in charge by september 1st
  22. i said earlier in the thread that takeovers take a long time. the way some people comment they think if the deal aint done in a few hours its gone tits up, dont forget there are 4 serious bidders here, rotchilds have got the check the funds and backgrounds of these bidders. it will be done by the end of the month thou
  23. i dont agree, as i said in the thread a few pages ago, Gerrard drifts in and out of games to much, where as with JT you know you will get 100% every game
  24. FFS, Phil Thompson is on sky banging on about how Gerrard should have got it instead of Terry. biased prick
  25. confirmed, its John Terry, and whats better than staring at Kelly Dalglish` bristols when it was confirmed
