  1. remember man utd lost a game and fergie said it was because they were wearing a grey kit? i imagine that given theres going to be sea of sky blue seats in the background, we would need to wear claret kits for contrast purposes. and now im wondering if that is going to be a factor for all home teams whose kits match the dominant colour of the the stadium? Will man utd find it more difficult to spot each others kits with a sea of red seats in the background semi camoflaging them? or chelsea with blue?
  2. okay i have been very against this whole project restart nonsense but must admit to getting a wee tingle of excitement about all this now its coming to reality. it will be like nothing we have ever seen before. could have an amazing, grass roots unsanitised warts and all feel to it or it could be a complete car crash and people will realise that without all the glitz and glamour which surrounds the modern game, an actual game of football can be sterile and dull.
  3. so..........what did he say about his hair?! come on man don't keep us in suspense!
  4. Dont judge me too harshly but Extraction - Netflix. Absolutely brain dead story line but fantastic action sequences if you like that sort of thing. Hemsworth is really good in it
  5. i guess like all these thing it depends on the person doing it too. in her team, two of the girls who gt it done had nose bleeds and one fainted. guess you just hope you dont get a nurse too clumsy/ enthusiatic/ heavy handed
  6. tell you what though - apparently the test itself is horrendous. my wife had it done on monday and they have to really dig in there - both up your nose and down your throat - to get a good scraping. according to the nurse that conducted my wife, some people can stand it better than others and suspects that some negatives could be false due to insufficient swabbing. so imagine having to get that done a few times a week just so you can go to work
  7. I would love to think that this is the wake up call that football needs that the financial model upon which it is built is deeply deeply flawed, and that a complete overhaul and rationalisation of wages and % of wage costs to revenue is needed. it wont but it would be nice The salaries make me sick, the lack of a buffer for a crisis like this is poor risk management, the speed with which the clubs were prepared to dump their lower paid staff was concerning, and the willingness to send the players back to playing in an unsafe environment for no other reason than revenue protection is particularly sinister
  8. most teams wont have any fans in the stadium. but we wiil have two - Jack and Dean. Advantage VIlla!
  9. i have a low key fascination with the idea of watching unconditioned, out of shape, chubby post lockdown footballers dragging their arses round a quiet football pitch where we could hear the swearing and slagging and managers instructions and screams of pain from soft tackles etc. It would be hilarious and I think I could relate more to players playing more like me and my fat mates down the local park than the pure robotic athletes we are used to watching (Danny Drinkwater aside) in a sanitised, editable environment
  10. I think if the season goes ahead BCD and on neutral venues then it isnt the same competition that was entered into and therefore the sanctions for finishing at he bottom of the table, or the rewards for finishing top of the table are null and void. Personally I think the season should conclude BCD and on neutral venues but promotion and relegation scrapped. However as a compromise I think there should be some sort or reward/ punishment in the guise of a points award/ deduction for the 2020/21 season for the bottom 5 prem teams and top 5 champ teams. i.e whoever finishes 20th in prem starts on -5 pts, 19th on -4 pts, 18th on -3 pts etc. in 2020/21. Likewise, whoever finishes top of championship starts with 5 pts, 2nd starts with 4 pts, 3rd, 3 pts etc.
  11. no homo and all that but he looks badass with that haircut!
  12. I still mourn the closure of those damn message boards. Yes there were some nobs on there but name me a forum that there isnt (VT excepted obviously). But they were brilliant for movie/ actor discussion and have yet to find any online that come close - open to recommendations
  13. Solution. No crowds in stadium but home teams can do a spurs and pipe crowd noise in over the tannoy. Away teams can too but they have to play it though a set of iPhone speakers while home teams can crank it to 11!!
  14. Started a show called Devs. It's an Alex garland show and you can't half tell - it's pretty stunning. Only watched one episode so far but excited to keep going
  15. And im sure they were tasked with creating a SMART target, which by definition would have been a realistically achievable one. and they still failed miserably
  16. Even with the behind closed doors solution I think there are major risks. Every player will come into contact with a least maybe 40 people on a match day between leaving their house and getting back to their house at the end of the day. For a lot of the time they will be sweating, breathing hard, have a lot of physical contact etc. Now lets say each team has a playing and coaching compliment of 30 for each match. That is 600 people. Then another 400 people involved in the running/operational side of match day across the league (yes these numbers are pulled out of the air but bear with me). What happens if just one of those people prove positive for COVID-19?. Based on the R0 numbers and contagion risk there are now a lot of people who would surely have to get tested in case of infection. Tests that would otherwise be used for NHS staff/ vulnerable individuals etc. I could also foresee the scenario where players simply refuse to put themselves in that position. These guys all have families and loved ones like you and I, and although we like to believe that they are all passionate about our game and our club, the truth is for many of them it is simply just a job. The man on the street isnt going to expose themselves unnecessarily just so their company can make money, and neither will some of these guys. Mind you it would be fascinating to watch a televised BCD game just to hear the communication amongst the players and coaching staff etc. Imagine Sky trying to bleep out all the swearing lol
  17. I do think the controls need to be tighter. I honestly think that some people are seeing it as a game to try to outwit the system. They dont seem to understand that the virus doesnt care how smart and sneaky you re getting around big brothers rules. Im with yer man above, i'm totally willing to snitch on my neighbours if they are being smartarses and not staying indoors. hell ill even photograph the buggers. turns out im a bit of a snidey wee sod
  18. as far as im aware he hasnt been accused of sucking off Super Hans. but judging by his recent bahaviour......
  19. to all the people who have made up their minds that he crashed his car because he was drunk or on drugs, based on unsubstantiated eyewitnesses, circumstantial evidence and red top headlines I offer an alternative theory: Jack has dedicated his life to one thing - football. His education, hobbies, relationships have all been compromised in one way or other as a result. In other words, take away football and be has bugger all else to occupy himself. He was invited to a mates, went because he was bored. THIS WAS A BAD THING. No denying that. Then it is entirely feasible he went there , stayed up all night playing computer games, listening to music, or a million other things you can do hanging out with mates. Then he threw his flip flops/ slippers back on, tried to drive home and crashed because driving a massive, 3 tonne car with incorrect footwear whilst knackered is more difficult than anticipated. One "eyewitness" said the car wasnt driveable at that stage so Jack, tired and fed up, left his details and buggered off home rather than stand around being interviewed by police whilst every neighbour with a mobile phone could photograph and video the entire scene. I dont know what version of event is true. And no version paints Jack in a particularly good light. However I am conscious that to assume the worst is unfair and dangerous.
