  1. Fully agree real good summing up --am well pleased for Taylor and Whelan who both seem to have found their form when at former clubs for which they were rewarded with numerous caps for their respective countries--- and Mings is so calm and commanding in that back four---his ability to switch direction so quickly for a player his size is amazing.!
  2. i find it hard to believe the Mings pull down was "missed" --by the clown officiating!--i just wonder what would have happened had it occoured in their box?---after all the ref and linesman "missed" Sharp being offside and interfering and the fact his studs were raised and Kalinic clearly had both palms around the ball!!---------probably a penalty no doubt!!!!!!
  3. Awful display for 80 minutes---passes going astray passes going for a throw---not much team spirit----awful inept display from the official throughout who clearly were loving being under the tv spotlight!!!----blimey they are getting worse with every dam game---were,nt fit for an under 6 game!!!!!! Whelan and Green come on----and we suddenly hit the ground running----was thinking of heading home after 80 then 85 ----but real glad i stayed great scenes at the end----well pleased for Green----and Mings----he looks strong and hopefully Jack and Tammy,s affection for the club will rub off on the lad--- now we have shown that we can perform----no shrinking back now---keep that fight passion and spirit going into the next match----and the one after that--
  4. Fully agree-- Wilder dont say a lot he just gets on with his job --and he loves Sheffield Utd, Adomah to me has been pretty poor all season,-- and dont seem interested--needs replacing--.
  5. Tim Sherwood wanted Tom Carroll way back then---but the "money ball" board woud,nt sanction an offer---hes finally arrived, i wonder if Timbo had got his way how things might have worked out?
  6. could,nt agree with the Elmo substitution following his recent error filled inept showings- almost proved costly -again,! and what was that perfect attack breaking pin-point pass backward from inside their box directly to an Ipswich player?
  7. "your f******g s***" sang the home fans: "we,re f******g s***-----we,re f******g s***" --------------------sang the travelling faithful-----and boy we sure were!!! that was absolutely dire not one shot on target----in 55 years watching Villa it ranks amongst one of the worst performances ive had the mis-pleasure to watch!! Tammy and McGinn apart---the rest can stay on Wigan Pier for me!!! shocking----we should all be refunded from their mega mega astronmical remittances they are rewarded with for masquerading as professional footballlers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  8. reckon Bree should be given a run at RB, ---his natural position--no way is he a CB----Elmo deserves dropping, on his last 2 displays has been dam awful---that tepid header straight to Roofe yesterday was befitting of an under 6 side---
  9. just watched the goals again --did,nt realise that Lolley had a hand in 4 goals as well as netting a screamer--- reckon he ran midfield, the lads a Villa fan and has been scoring regularily as has Grabban-- might well be worth a look at in January. what a game not to be forgotten-----cannot understand why Elmos effort was disallowed it looked to me to finally roll into the net off a forest defender,
  10. we have to play some good attacking teams Derby Leeds,Albion,Boro,Forest,----before the transfer window opens, and with our leaky defence continuing to gift goals away--i,m concerned that unless there is a big big improvement we may find ourselves taking in more significant losses! Brucey must take the primary blame for this leaving us with so few defenders, -------over to you J,T. and good luck,------maybe James Collins would be worth a punt----where did Christopher Samba go to?
  11. cannot believe Whelan took that penalty when Bolassie who had just scored Jack McGinn and Birkir were still on the pitch! very poor management tonight with what appears to be the new norm finishing the game with no recognised strikers, and the replacing Hourihane with Whelan made no sense to me neither did the call up for our 4th choice keeper----crazy, Brucey and his cronies have to go! its way beyond a joke now----and fast becoming a non laugh at circus. for us Villa fans anyways,
  12. Lee Johnson was a very bad whinging looser after that last 5-1 thumping---no doubt he will have them really up for revenge--we need to battle it out and be ready to fight fire with fire---but i worry McGinn aside, will we be able to---this type of game is when Snoddy and J.T. showed their worth---now both are gone others must come to the fore,
  13. Yes i thought that too-----noted also by my not football savvy girlfriend.
  14. Spot on fully agree 101%---- imo would add height, and bite which i believe is sadly missing --to our midfield,--
  15. thought the lad did well on Saturday-- has good spring in his boots-reckon won most of his headed contests,-- surprised me, could be wrong, in that that he seemed to be marshalling the back 4 especialy at free kicks, versatile player CB, RB DM-----to me would be included every game, and brings some bite into our play, does seem commited -----but gives the impression is a yellow/red card waiting, needs to, if he can hold back just a wee bit,
  16. always liked Wes Hoolihan from his days at Blackpool----thought the lad ran midfield on Saturday, was a nice touch that the visiting Canaries---or at least the greater majority joined in with the applause for Stan,
  17. Still angry this morning---yet another game of 2 half.s we looked dare i say good first half ---then Owen Coyle brings on Kevin Davies an old bullying English Number 9---Stephen Warnock my MOM playing out of position scores---we then fall apart as if in disbelief and concede 2 goals in two minutes at home against Bolton-----McClown out thought, out manouvered yet again,!!! one question what was Fonz expected to do in 3 minutes? --after so long without any pitch time----totally pathetic clueless substitution!!!! Do the Boyz in Claret and Blue have the desire or bottle for a fight? after last night, i hate to say --i seriously doubt it--and worry for our once great club,s future,!!!!
  18. Quality goal by Weimann in what, his second Premier League start?---very very poor ref, gave us absolutely nothing except 3 yellow cards to Stoke,s none!! i imagine Weimann and Herdy are black and blue this morning after the in turn batterings they took from Stokes thugs, how does Huth always always seem to score against us? and Pennant,s a blinking great diver --Brittania last minute last season comes to mind, strewth did Gardner actually touch or blow him over,--Huth used Collins shoulders to propel him higher--no foul, Huth hauls Collins to the ground almost in slow motion in their area, Herd gets pulled to the ground---no fouls----total joke!!! thought Collins Herd Baker did well though Weimann ,s finish was wellworth his MOM award.
  19. Gutted to hear this awful news, My thoughts and prayers are with Stan and his family, we should all stand as one tomorrow and show united support for Stan. Stay positive Stan and get well soon,
  20. The moment i heard Heskey was playing--i knew the towel had been flung in, what a waste of a shirt, down to 10 men before kick -off, yet another Saturday night and weekend spoiled----becoming all too common this season. Disgusted to hear that so few players went over to thank the travelling fans,--complete lack of respest ,to those who help to pay their high, but hardly ever earned wages----poor showing you Villa Boys.
  21. And what a beaming smile too,--felt really pleased for the lad, have been saying he deserves a chance for a while now, easy to see from his reaction -and from the players pile up of a reaction,(especially academy lads)--just how much that goal meant not only to us fans --but to the lad and them also!! There,s still magic in the famous name --Aston Villa.
  22. At last great to score at Villa Park again and get 3 points, thought the lads all worked well today --Stevee Ireland and Chris Herd were joint MOM for me, thought this was our best first half show at home this season real pleased for Weimann--all credit to the lad for being there, and for reacting first----thought The Holte End actually sucked the ball into the net---the roar of relief was worthy of greeting a cup -final winning goal, Great to see the young Lions Barry Bannan Gary Gardner and Andreas all involved in what is such a vitally important goal for us this season,-hope they get more game time now,--- Am now going to enjoy Saturday night for a change,---well done you Villa Boyz
  23. The obvious answer is that Mcleish muct be performing to the objectives set, what he is doing must actually be what they want him to. And that says more about them . That is a frightening thought---i swear his brief has been to keep us in the Prem --no matter whether it be 15th 16th or 17th --just as long as we stay in the Premier League and for what end? i dont know--but there aint many buyers interested in a championship club!!--the mind wanders,!!!
