  1. The 2 on the right look like they've aged 30 years apiece.
  2. United fans really think he's worth £50m tops. The arrogance is astounding. They really think we're doing him a disservice by valuing him so high. We'd be doing what every club would do which is try to get compensated for what they think their player is worth, that is if there's even anything in this speculation.
  3. Can't wait to see them starting Jake Livermore in midfield in 2020. What was even the point of going up?
  4. Not sure Eze and Jack could play in the same side but who knows we might be able to make it work. Benrahma would be my choice as he's actually a winger but possesses a lot of the #10 qualities that Jack and Eze do too.
  5. He had some plausible deniability with that excuse that "he's playing in the Championship" (not really because he was capping Mason Mount, who Jack absolutely showed up that season), but now that he's doing the business in the PL, there's no excuse at all. As you say, any other country would be ecstatic at such an exciting young player with the talent that he's got (he's not just another pace merchant winger), especially England you would think who have lacked such a creative player for years.
  6. Luiz often looked weak and had no positional sense for someone in his position. Comes back after lockdown and now he's looking like Busquets, shrugging people off the ball and always being at the right place at the right time. I don't think that's something you can just develop in a few months. What I think happened was he got up to speed with the league physically and mentally and his true talents have now started to shine through. I'm very hesitant on writing foreign players off, even if they look like they can't trap a ball at first. I even expect Trezeguet to look a lot better next season. Same goes for Nakamba. All 3 of them have some talent there, maybe not as much as Douglas, but if they can realize it like he did then they can be of good use to Aston Villa. For Wesley, I've seen enough in the games against Everton, Arsenal and Burnley to show me that there is definitely a player there to be unearthed.
  7. Honestly think they've been holding off on giving him a call up for so long to eventually force him to move to a bigger club. Even if he rides the bench for a top 6 club, he'd invariably be in the England team. But him pulling up trees at Villa and looking like one of the best players of the league for some odd reason wasn't enough.
  8. Agreed. If Wesley can push his way into the team after us signing what I hope will be a very good striker than that can only be good for Aston Villa. Same goes for Davis or Samatta.
  9. Or the Grealish yellow at Palace. Or the 3 VAR howlers at Arsenal. There's a table out there of how it would look if VAR was out of the picture, and Bournemouth still go down and we stay up. In fact, we actually move up a place!
  10. Double figures would have been a good return especially considering I never expected him to be a 20+ goal striker. It's more how his game affects our attack that I found more important and he has a lot of improving to do there but I think he has the qualities to be like a 15 and 10 type striker that he was in Belgium.
  11. Even 80m is too low imo. Should be a starting bid at minimum.
  12. It doesn't say the distance covered for these measurements? How long did it take for them to reach those speeds etc? I don't deny that he could hit a high top speed. Same goes for Wesley. Acceleration is a different matter though. I'm just using my eyes. Either his reaction times are slow or his acceleration is as he is regularly left behind by strikers. Compare him to Mings who is the opposite and uses his pace to get ahead of attackers and put in tackles etc.
  13. I hate to think it, but could you imagine him at a top side? He'd be Gazza status within a couple of months. Still laughing at Spurs missing a trick. Could have saved 70m if they just ponied up 25-30 a couple of years ago and could have had another world class youngster linking up with Kane, Eriksen and Son under Poch.
  14. They're Manchester United, they could just buy him out of vanity like they did with Alexis Sanchez despite him not fitting in the team at all.
  15. Look at his 5 goals and his finishes. If Davis could do that he'd be a 40m pound striker. But he can't, and we're considering loaning him out to the Championhsip.
  16. He did so many things wrong but he was incredibly still better than Davis and Samatta. Scored 5 times as many goals as them combined with roughly the same amount of time on the pitch.
  17. I remember saying on the United forum that Jack is the most talented English midfielder since Scholes and I got laughed out of the room (as if England has been blessed with talented midfielders since then). Now they're tripping over themselves to sign him just as I predicted. Jack is a generational talent. There aren't too many players in the world, much less attacking midfielders that can drag a team up from the Championship and then keep them up then following year. The amount of influence and talent you'd need to have to do that is immense. We have to get better players around him or we're just wasting his talent.
  18. I think a lot of non-Villa fans and pundits truly underrate how good he is. Tim Sherwood is the only one who seems to understand, mostly because he's seen it first hand.
  19. He's slow off the blocks, like very slow. Like I said, Shane Long who's no spring chicken absolutely smoked him at Villa Park. There's no point getting to a high top speed if it takes forever to get there.
  20. We paid 22m for Wesley. If Tammy was available for 25m or even 30m, I'd snap Chelsea's arm off at the shoulder.
  21. I swear Brentford fans get off on this
  22. Yeah, we paid slightly over market value to ensure he got a work permit. The issue wasn't signing him, but signing only him.
  23. The craziest part is before the Palace game we were actually 7 points off. The pressure was massive. It was basically win or go down.
  24. Only mistake off the top of my head is the clanger against Spurs at home, the penalty against Arsenal which was a dive imo, and giving acres of space to get smoked by Shane Long at VP. Konsa made more after the lockdown alone tbf. I'd keep him for next season. He'd probably look better under our new defensive structure and his lack of acceleration won't be as exposed.
