  1. Exactly how i'd set up I mean, you look at that on paper and it looks like we should be scoring goals left, right & centre! :| I know eh? I think it would help the team immensely if Delph started playing well. Spreading the ball to the wings and/or Ireland at every chance he gets, or bursting forward himself as he used to do; and we'd be creating many chances. Sadly he hasn't been up to par (and by not up to par I mean not even being able to control a pass, or even give one) and we've been lacking this link player. What we've had is Petrov slowing things down and giving the ball back to the defence, or Bannan not doing the simple things and going for the more elaborate passes.
  2. Screw N'Zogbia, give Albrighton a go. Surely he can't be any worse than him. Hell, at least we're guaranteed 2 or 3 decent crosses in the game. I'd go: Gabby---Bent----Albrighton ---------Ireland------------- ----Herd/Delph--Petrov----
  3. Petrov? Minus the chasing part of course.
  4. Why on earth would you have Fabian Delph anywhere near the 1st team??? Because he's better than Herd. really??? I dont agree with that. Delph is very very poor IMO herd is a league 1 player at best How can you say that based on the few appearances he's had this season? I saw Herd during a reserve game warm up and he looks like a world class player in the making..
  5. His distribution wasn't too shabby either. Seems a good fit in our midfield.
  6. Can't even give you any points for effort there. have no idea what you mean there, he is no better than delph that's for certain I think you're trolling and I think that was a very poor attempt at it. you honestly think we would get 6m for bannan? that's what we paid for delph I think you're trolling when you say he's not good enough for us. what makes you think he's good enough for us? he's played 20 times for us and is nearly 22, that says it all imo He's been a key player for us this season. He's certainly performed better than Delph. a key player? i certainly wouldn't go that far, the only reason he's looked better than delph is that he's had more opportunity to play, he certainly isn't a better player He is a key player. He was involved in pretty much all of our goals this season, and he most definitely did not have more of an opportunity than Delph. Delph started every game bar Saturday.
  7. it's a good amount for a striker but for a supposed leading premiership side it's a very poor amount What are you talking about, Gabby is tied with Adebayor for the most assists for a striker.
  8. This thread brought the lulz. Pretty much everything creative we've done came through Bannan. Apparently he's a Championship/League 1 player. Wtf does that make Petrov and Delph?
  9. Although clueless tactically after the sending off, his tactics were quite sound prior. We were dominating possession, leading and it was seemingly smooth sailing. He deserves credit for that, and also criticism for not organizing his team after the sending off. But it was always going to be tough against West Brom who were already half decent at keeping possession 11v11.
  10. Real mature post there . Sorry mate. I disagree with you so my post is not mature???? That's mature. :winkold: Yeah, it's because you disagree . Explain what's so immature then please instead of rolling your eyes. Saying useless and ridiculous things like "I think you are going to get your post count up if you are going to spend your time defending the ginger muppet", and calling McLeish other posters' 'mate' simply because they choose to look at his job so far objectively.
  11. League 2 player, reserve player? Wow.

  13. That doesn't look too shabby actually. Would prefer Petrov or even Herd to Clark atm though. Ireland and Bannan together should combine well with the front 3, and even though Albrighton hasn't shown anything of worth yet, he gets in for simply not being as crap as N'Zogbia.
  14. Because if you sit back and let a team apply pressure on you for 60 minutes you will invariably at some point concede. The fact that we had no shots on target and had little possession shows that Eck hasn't got a clue. The sooner he is out of our club the better. We had ten men FFS, we havent got the most technically gifted players at the best of times, we havent played a possesion game properly for years. Also we had 47% possesion so thats hardly little possesion with ten men. And as I said we conceded from two corners. The stats I saw said 38% after the sending off. I couldn't care that much about possession though, it is the shots on target - a big fat zero - that speaks volumes on your mates coaching abilities! The two corners are just part of the pressure applied by West Brom. Is your mate exempt from coaching his team to defend against set pieces then? Ged got slaughtered for the same misdemeanour last season. I think you are going to get your post count up if you are going to spend your time defending the ginger muppet, unless of course RL makes the right decision for a change and sends him back to Blues, who, by the way, look to be playing some decent football under Hughton. Real mature post there .
  15. Come to think of it, Dowd was the one who gave Rodwell the red card as well right?
  16. I still would have had Bannan centrally in the diamond formation we used against Wigan. ----------Ireland----------- --Bannan-------Petrov----- -----------Herd------------- We probably would've had another goal had the Hutton-N'Zog collabo not ruined half of our attacks. Given that we created absolutely nothing from wide positions, this could have been a better option. Ireland should certainly be higher up the pecking order than NZogbia. That said, I can understand why McLeish played with more width and didnt necesserily want to start Ireland. The full backs would have been left a little exposed with the diamond formation and it may be that McLeish felt that a derby game would pass someone like Ireland by. That said, anyone putting a good amount of effort in would have topped NZogbia's performance. Spot on.

  18. Absolutely agree. Except I would've had Ireland instead of N'Zogbia from the off.
  19. Before the sending off we had something like 60-40 possession and were 1 up cruising for a 2/3-1 victory. We were very much on the front foot. The only game at home that we weren't was against Newcastle. I completely agree with us being better at the start of Albion but we should be anyway....it's Albion and after the sending off it was like we all stood on the goal line with the occasional break. I'm not against him anyway, like I said earlier he's got my backing for now. I hear ya. Sure it was 'only' Albion, but it was always going to be tough going down to 10 men to a team that was already decent enough at keeping possession beforehand.

  21. No way it was a sending off; he got the ball first. It was a yellow for the recklessness and danger of the tackle. Nothing more. That said, he looked woeful. He needs to work on his final ball as he usually gets into good positions bombing forward from the back.
  22. They only gave it ago for a spell of about 5 minutes after the sending off. They were poor afterwards. We had a similar spell half-way through the second half ourselves, which similarly came to nothing.
