  1. Di Matteo was also tactically astute enough to play defensive when it made sense. They wouldn't have lifted the Champions League under AVB because he would have likely taken the fight to Barcelona. Di Matteo took flak for how he setup against Barcelona even though it worked, sometimes as a manager you have to learn when to attack and when to be defensive. We know that Di Matteo can do attacking football just look at West Brom in their promotion year they scored like 89 goals, but he also knows when to sit back and absorb the punishment. I think he'll be a good manager for us.

    Xbox One

While it wouldn't make the current Xbox One redundant I would have to question Microsoft's thoughts about making it so much more powerful than Xbox One. Sony are going to have the same issue just less extreme as 1.8 TeraFLOPs to 4.1 is a buff but not to the extent that the PS4 Classic will hold it back by much, it's very much possible to have both co-existing but it will be a struggle. Xbox One is 1.2 TeraFLOPs of performance, while the number touted for the new one is around 6 TeraFLOPs. We're talking developers having to make sure games for the system Codenamed Scorpio also run somewhat on Xbox One. This is going to be insanely difficult as the leap is just colossal, I mean the 'Scorpio' is 5x more powerful than the Xbox One while being 1.4x more powerful than NEO. The main issue here is that console hardware is dedicated it has one task and gets maxed out. The current line of thinking is that for instance 1.8 TeraFLOPs in a console is the equivalent of 3.6 TeraFLOPs in a PC. The thought behind this is that even with DX12 allowing PC GPU's to run more efficiently and closer to 100% they are still wasteful devices that never reach their full potential, whereas Console GPU's do. As a result of this NEO is going to be the equivalent in power to the new GTX 1080 that came out today, while Codename Scorpio could have real world performance even higher than that. These ecosystems will be hard for both to manage if Sony and Microsoft are serious about not ditching PS4 Classic and Xbox One. It will most certainly be very interesting to see how it all shapes up. The generation has currently gone in Sony's favour with a 20 million unit lead over Xbox One, but it seems the generation is merely getting started. Sony will have the advantage going into this mid-generation refresh, but it looks like Microsoft are set to eliminate one of the biggest short comings of the Xbox One which was its power. If gamers are interested in owning the most powerful gaming console on the market then Microsoft could start eating back some of that market share. Very interesting times indeed.
  3. Sounds like we're due another one based on them seemingly happening 11 years apart.
  4. It's going to be terrible. I would much rather it be one title that each show fights over pitting their best superstars against the rivals Champion to bring the title home. That kind of thing adds prestige as if the fans see how much each show wants it the fans start to see it as a big deal, not to mention the main event between superstars of the two brands will feel exciting it will have that big fight feeling. On the topic of Royal Rumble. Any bets that after the split they have a Rumble end in a double elimination? Have the two "winners" fight at Fastlane to determine who faces the WWE Champ and who faces the World Heavyweight Champ. Seems like a very WWE thing to do and a very Vince way of booking as woe betide Smackdown having a more prestigious title than Raw.
  5. It's not so much about buying good football clubs it is about expanding reach. We likely won't need a club in China as a successful Aston Villa side will likely do insanely well in that market with good advertising. A club in the US, Australia and India would do well. Hit all large population bases and again these teams don't need to be all that good they just need to fulfil a role.
  6. Every news outlet in the UK stated last night at around 8pm that it's as good as done, the formalities are being ironed out now and it will likely be announced over the weekend.
  7. This is likely what Samuelson is here for. I mean you look into sister/feeder clubs and you see so many clubs are in on it. Yes sister clubs are not condoned or something the FA officially allows but this world is all about bending the rules. It's part of the reason this great club has slowly been left behind as we do everything above board, it's time to get a bit more shady like all the other big clubs.
  8. Ah yeah so he is. Swiss-born Italian. Though while he played for Italy, he is certainly Swiss so is he our first Swiss manager? My memory is so bad when looking into our past.
  9. Amavi is a good lad. He's always given his all for this club and even through injury been a huge supporter on Twitter and the like.
  10. I think it's a club first.. Makes a change from Scottish managers.
  11. He has!!! What a word removed! Didn't he know Aston Villa were available?
  12. Yeah his lowest is higher than MON and his highest is higher than any manager in our clubs history. He's qualified I don't see why people have such a big issue with him.
  13. I gotta say I am pretty content right now. I'm of the belief that we were aiming damn high trying to get managers like Di Matteo. I mean how many Championship clubs land a Champions League winning manager? Not many. It may all go to shit but that can happen with any manager, it's a leap of faith and I'm gonna sit back and enjoy the ride.
  14. There is a difference between sacking someone off because they don't meet the criteria going forward and sacking someone off because we are doing poorly.
  15. You don't have to do all those things with the same manager.
  16. Oh I know it was a great move of them mid-season but getting Benitez to agree to a season in the Championship, I think a bit of luck was on their side with that one he could have easily resigned.
  17. They can release now with VR support ready for later just like many games did for Oculus Rift.
  18. I am sure on a manager hunt you realise just how shit Championship is considered to be. I am sure at the start the target list was vast likely spanning every manager free and in a job. The fact is though the Championship is just not a place a great manager wants to be seen. Newcastle lucked out keeping Benitez, but they only kept him because he was already in the role to negotiate with they wouldn't have got him otherwise.
  19. Hearing talk that the World Heavyweight Championship will be reinstated to give both shows a main title. Seems these days unifying and removing a title from circulation is merely a storyline prop not something to build on.
  20. Not surprised by the delay. Two months ago several websites had hands on with the game and stated that performance of the PS4 version was poor, it wouldn't surprise me if they have failed to make it run better since then. Unfortunately for Hello Games they are launching this game on PC so there will be a benchmark for which the PS4 version has to hit or get close to, it appears thus far the PS4 version is off the pace which isn't ideal for a game advertised as a PS4 exclusive of sorts.
  21. @Jareth If that tweet with the image is accurate then we may soon find out just how little to trust the media. Moyes "ruled" himself out but I don't recall any quotes from him in any articles that stated that. So maybe just maybe it's still on.
  22. Don't even.. Shocking to read he won six in ten though, that said just no.. Not again.
  23. It's not a big investment. He's spending $3.5 billion (£2.5 billion) buying a US Logistics company in the next few months. Our deal is tiny compared to stuff he has lined up.
  24. I think the way they will do it is keep them all singular. WWE United States Championship will go to Smackdown - WWE Intercontinental Championship will go to Raw WWE World Tag Team Championships will stay brand neutral - The title will likely be booked between brands to pit the best team on each brand at the time to face at the PPV. It will keep the tag team division fresh and make PPV matches feel all the more special. WWE Women's Championship will also stay brand neutral - Similar scenario to the Tag Titles the best of the best from both brands face off. It would also allow for more speciality matches as some months there could be two women that deserve a shot on one brand setting up triple threats, fatal four ways.. Always good for variety and allows the women chance to build feuds and story lines better. WWE World Heavyweight Championship will again stay brand neutral - This is the big one and the best men in the company on either brand need to be vying for it. Making it the thing each brand wants and needs to have in their product will raise prestige, it will make it THE title in the company and whoever holds it THE man to beat. Similar reasons as above it keeps fights for the title fresh and more special, while allowing more opportunity for more natural looking speciality matches to be formed. If this was to happen those that own one of the three neutral titles would need free reign over both brands, they wouldn't be able to compete on the rival brand, but for the sake of rivalry building Reigns (Raw) coming out on Smackdown to address the number one contender calling him out has to remain a thing. The potential of the brand split could be huge and it will certainly make stars as those not in the main event scene now will likely now get that shot on one of the brands. I think it also allows for the company to freshen up and change the staging for the first time in like 10 years, make each brand feel unique and different. It should be a good thing if done well.
  25. Shame.. Not just for Gabby but regulating that industry and selling such things as a legal taxable commodity is what I'd do. Many of these legal highs were only dangerous because they came with zero guidelines. I never partook in anything like this, but I know people that did and making it illegal just creates yet another criminally fuelled underground market which is no good for anyone. Bringing it back to Gabby though I am sure he will find a way to get his Nitrous Oxide and I am sure when he is photographed in a hotel he'll be in so much more trouble, he won't change his habits because of the law.
