    He is ridiculous. I said last season that he is worth more than £100m. He is priceless now. Nobody could afford him. Totally, beautifully ridiculous..............Bet Southgate still doesn’t pick him though!

    There’s no doubting his ability to play at this level in my view. He has had some cracking games for us in the PL. The problem is the blend of the midfield. Smith has never quite managed to get it right. You play SJM or Barkley with Luiz and a more combatitive box to box midfielder. Someone like Keane or Viera. At the moment our midfield is walked through at times.

    Smith is a massive work in progress. He is not at the level as most other PL managers but he does have plenty of growth left in him. He needs to keep learning fast though otherwise I think he will run out of time.

    His goal return so far has been really good. We couldn’t have reasonably expected better. I have to say though that I don’t think he looks very good. I’d bizarrely have been happier with fewer goals but better all round performances! Early days though so plenty of time to improve.

    I was desperate for us to sign McKennie in the summer. He was the player I most wanted. I think Barkley is a good signing but we always needed another to add better balance in my view. Not seen anything since to contradict that!

    The one that we have needed to procure in each of the transfer windows since Smith was appointed and failed to do so. It is so obvious but he just cannot see it!

    Just as I think Smith is about to prove me wrong he kind of proves me right! Our midfield balance is awful. You play Luiz and either Barkley or McGinn with a proper box to box, physical midfielder. Why cannot he see the weakness!

    Very impressive press conference from the manager. He really seems so calm and measured. There are obviously going to be some bumps in the road along the way but it feels as though we really are on the right path now. Well done Deano (and CP, Wes and Nas).

    Axel played well for Man U last night. Expect him to be in the next England squad whilst big nose explains the absence of Ezri being down to a lack of PL experience!

    He really is back to his best. Out first 11 really is quality now. They are all a really good age too. Over the next few years if we can supplement it with a few more signings and bringing through our promising youth players we will be back as a fully established top 10 team.

    We were ridiculously lucky against Belgium. The luck has turned tonight but we deserve nothing for that team selection. Southgate is an absolute tool. He has a agenda against Jack for some reason. I bet it dates back to under 21 football. We will never win anything with this prick in charge. Or even get close to fulfilling our potential. Get him out!
