We’ve had a tough few weeks but we are still very much in this. Adversity can provide real opportunities for people to surprise you. I believe that Unai can still get us cooking and qualify for Champions League. It has certainly been made more difficult following recent events but we are still in this. Keep the faith people.

Poor old Boubs. Get well soon. It’s a position where we are light on options too.
-
I doubt it’s too serious. He looked in discomfort rather than pain. Hopefully he’ll be ok for next weekend or very soon after.
-
When Unai took over we were in a relegation battle. I think we should remember that before we get too upset with being fifth in February. If he left, we would likely be doing much worse. Let’s get behind him (and the team) when they need us most. Up the Unai (Kenneth!!!). UTV

I didn’t say it was. Unai is King. What he is doing at Villa is simply incredible. We need him to pick them up and we go again.

Some serious pant wetting going on in here today. I hope the players are not as ready to throw in the towel as some of our fans are. We are still well ahead of the chasing pack and we’re much better than Utd today.

King Unai has to earn his corn now. The boys played well today but that will have really knocked their confidence. We need to go on a run now. Five or six wins on the bounce. We are capable but we need to just pick ourselves up and go for it.
-
MOTM for me today. Great to see him looking confident again.
-
I am a big Cash critic but he was good today. Maybe he could have been stronger for their winner but he certainly had a more positive game than other recent performances.
-
I was watching Villa dominate Utd but sadly lose because we didn’t take our chances but they did. End of. Diaby played his part in that whether you saw it or not.
-
He played well today. Honestly you guys need to give him a break. He was creative and lively. He was 20 times better than Zaniolo and Tielemans. I honestly think some people want him to fail. I can say this because I am one but brummies are such fatalistic sods at time. We need to grow up and calm down.
-
Good performance. We deserved to win. We were really unlucky. We just need to take the positives out of the game and move on. Let’s hope Boubs is ok now.

We’re doing well here. Their goal was incredibly lucky for a number of reasons and we have had good chances. We should be winning not losing here. Keep the faith everyone our luck is about to change.

We need a bit more positivity on this site. I know we’ve all been burned by Man Utd many, many times including as recently as December but this Utd side are far from unbeatable and this Villa side have shown how good we can be, particularly at home. I know our form has not been good. I know their form is improving but there really isn’t much between the teams and we are at home. I think if we can get the first goal then we will win. We could easily have scored first against Newcastle and Chelsea and maybe then the results and performance would have been different. I can’t see us losing three home games on the bounce. I think we are due some good luck, particularly against Utd. I think that Pau will play. I think that Boubs and Doug are going to be closer to their best. I’m backing us to win this one and leap back into the top four with a nice juicy gap between us and sixth place. Keep the faith. UTV.

Yet we’re still averaging two points per game so far this season in spite of our poor recent form. It’s going to get harder because we are in uncharted territory but it’s more likely that we’ll turn the form around than we won’t. Have some faith. Negativity is really bad for you.

Our form is bad at the moment but why are people so sure that we won’t turn it around. Whenever we are on a run of good form people are always quick to remind us that it won’t last forever but when that happens why are people so certain that our poor form will be sustained. It defies logic. Our form during the Emery reign is roughly two points per game. We may have short periods above/below that but over a period of time we average out to that 2 points. Unless we get totally obliterated by injuries, there’s no reason to think that things will change significantly for the remainder of the season. That makes the game tomorrow important but it’s certainly not make or break. Anyway, hopefully we’ll batter them. UTV. SOTC

He is now. I think peak Villa Jack was better.
-
Jack’s career at city is surely over. He never gets trusted by Pep. Is he happy to remain a cheer leader or does he actually want to play football? I really hope for his own sake and for England, he leaves at the end of the season. He is wasting away there. He could have been a world beater.
-
Has he been named in the Euro squad? If not, then will he be able to play? I agree we could do with extra numbers.
-
The main problem is the players. They look incredibly anxious and it’s really impacting the performances. It was always going to be difficult to maintain our levels as the pressure cranked up. Our players aren’t used to being in this position. They aren’t handling it very well at the moment. All’s not lost yet though. There’s still a long way to go. UTV.

Well that was fun. I didn’t think we could possibly play worse than against Newcastle but what do I know! Only way is up, that’s for sure.

I would not be surprised if Mings left. Pau is first choice and I doubt big Ty will be happy with that at this stage of his career. It will be a sad day if it happens though. The role he has played in establishing us back in the top flight cannot be understated. He’s a modern day great in my view.

I think that this is a certainty. If we don’t sell this year then we will lose any realistic chance of getting a decent return. We will try and replace with a much younger, more mobile centre back.
