Haven't seen Clark being shredded by fast wingers. At least not yet. I think he'd be better as LB than Luna or Bennet when Okore is back. We'd be defensively stronger. Then, if and when one of Okore or Vlaar gets injured, move Clark to CB and bring Luna in as LB. Only if they're both injured, like now, bring in Baker.

Hi Nick, I'm just curious as to what makes you so down with him? He's been a wall most of the time. He hasn't made any terrible blunders, not that I can recall anyways. When Vlaar or Luna's been away Lambert has put him in LB position. I think he's handled those responsibilities well too. Steady at the back. Doesn't offer so much going forward, but can control the ball nicely, and did show some attacking intelligence in that one match where he, instead of shooting like most others would have, calmly passed the ball which led to a goal by Kozak. When he plays LB he cannot prevent goals coming from the center, which has been the problem lately. I don't see him being "lost" at times without Vlaar either Mark40. I think he will be able to grow with the team, when we inevitably get better. He's not a finished product yet at all at 24. Much room to improve.

Agreed. He's slowly becoming my favourite player.

During pre-season the majority of people on here were calling Clark much worse, and hailing Baker and the best defender at the club. They are both terrible, and both a mistake waiting to happen in each and every game. Yes Okore was fourth choice, because he was injured for the majority of pre-season. We're now 17 games in. What relevance does what the majority of what people were saying then, have now? I'll tell you. Absolutely none. I also wrote Clark off at the beginning of the season and he was rightly 3rd choice going into the season but he's been very good this year. You know, because you can change your opinion based on what happens on the pitch? I was wrong and I'm glad he keeps proving me wrong. Clearly you don't watch games, or if you do, you're so intent on spouting negative view after negative view that you couldn't possibly change your mind. I still haven't been impressed with Clark this season, he's been ok but that's it. When Vlaar is out it has really showed Clark's weaknesses and for me he should not be a regular but in our position beggars can't be choosers You're entitled to your opinion, but I have to say I agree fully with Stefan and HeyAnty here. Clark has been very good, and while Vlaar's absense has hurt us badly, it's not because Clark has played poorly. Baker has totally lost it, Herd has not been good enough, and Luna and Bacuna have been worse than in the beginning of the season. But let's discuss more on Clark's thread.

Ah, let's just concentrate on how he plays. There's enough to do there.

I have been banging on about performances being the barometer of knowing where you are heading in a progressive programme. .....but right now its all about winning........ that's where we have regressed to. PS ..Forget the plan, there is no plan, its just survival on the day. If that's what regressing is, I hope we regress some more TRO. I like winning, style doesn't matter. Right now I'd recommend this approach to you too. Keeps one sane.

Him at RM and Albrighton at LM? Maybe vice versa? Those two are the closest thing we have to proper wingers at the moment. Yeah, I guess... I just don't see a winger in him, I don't know... Maybe he just needs a couple chances to show what he has.

I agree, Clark should've played as CB in this game.

I was very happy when he did well in his first few games as full back. Seems like it was too good to be true. Now that Lowton's back and doing ok, there's no room for him any more. I don't know what to do with him now.

Just keep him out there. He'll come good.
