  1. Should be a white flag of surrender at this stage.
  2. Yea, I think that's fair enough if the shoe was on the other foot. If we were asking them to go against the contract we'd need to offer them a carrot. I think Villa were desperate enough in this scenario and needed it so quickly.
  3. Interesting that all of a sudden the money stops the month of the playoff final.
  4. Whatever is said in the media, I feel Wyness has been thrown under the bus.
  5. Villa were being topped up with cash every month. That's like living from paycheck to paycheck. I don't run my own finances like that and I'm in a full time job.... Whatever happens, the man at the top Tony Xia needs to take responsibility for this. Anyone doing business with his Recon Group should consider looking elsewhere. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/inside-story-behind-aston-villa-12655774
  6. Interested how this debacle will change the "fit and proper person" criteria. If companies based in other countries are taking ownership, the risk analysis should reflect the possibility that governments could embargo the movement of funds based on specific business genre. If the premier league and football league have such powers they should start to clamp down on this nonsense.
  7. I would like to see some variation in the home shirt once in a while. I haven't bought the home shirt in years because the 82 shirt is practically the same. I'm not a tradionalist, some are I suppose.
  8. When we end up going for a new manager, I only hope the club have learned their lesson and do not base it solely on an "interview process" I'd interview a secretary and ask for references, but with managers there is so much more statistical analysis, success measurement and style of play to be considered. Sounds like the reason McLeish got the job in the first place because Martinez said no, and McLeish was as good at using Microsoft Powerpoint.
  9. Why , like Hummel, do they feel the need to plaster their oversized logo all over the shoulders. It looks tacky.
  10. We need creativity not a hack artist ...
  11. It goes to show... violence doesn't pay hahahaha
  12. Anyone who pays to watch a fight is a mug... haha
  13. Odds on Sven are shortening on the exchanges.... Also i refreshed Paddy Power and the market seems to have been suspended!!!
  14. My List (Given that David Moyes ruled himself out) Guus Hiddink (Unlikely) Martin Jol Sven Sven Sven Goran Eriksson Scchteeve McClaren Roberto Martinez Sparky Alan Curbishley Steve Bruce (I know) Mick McCarthy . . Second last man on earth G Southgate Last Man on earth Bob Bradley
  15. Roberto Martinez gets his team playing good football. I like him and I like his thinking.
  16. I wouldn't mind taking Martinez from Wigan. We won't win the league so we may as well play good football.
  17. I wonder if the same people who are turning their backs on O'Neill now are the ones who cheered him through the doors of Villa Park. We've improved under O'Neill, and if we trust in him, we'll improve again. People are letting the market forces our club faces at the present time and a very rare result affect their judgement. You don't know what you've got until its gone.
  18. Goalposts haven't stopped changing in the league since MON arrived. A lot of other teams have got Billionaire owners. Spurs had a poor season last year and were always going to threaten. Everton had a bad start but are showing that they are all up for the party. I don't see MON seeing a bigger challenge at Celtic with all the above going on. He was a hero at Celtic, why go back now to a struggling league with a struggling Old Firm and ruin his legacy now? He's started to assemble a squad and he has a job to do here. Simples ... eeek!
  19. John Carew Carew He's Bigger Than Me And You Not as big as Fat Lampards Poo John Carew Carew!
  20. I am utterly outraged today, however, I can't believe this thread has even been created. No manager is safe from the consequences of a poor performance, but lets put this into perspective. We've reached a cup final this year and we have a much improved side now than we did when Martin took charge. This thread is the equivalent of touretts syndrome lads. Sleep on it before you create a thread like this i beg you.
  21. Why would we be in favour of helping our local rivals... This is ridiculous. If anything Ridge should be sent to Preston or someone who will allow him to play, not break his legs in training and where he can help prevent SHA from acheiving promotion.
