  1. I just came a little bit at the thought of Jimmy returning. Surely he must know he cant spend another season on the bench if he wants to be fully in the England squad by the Euros. It's a shame as I truly believe he went to City thinking it was best for all parties, he got to be pivotal to a CL team (who would undoubtably be there) we got £20+ a player etc etc. Shame it worked out shitly for everybody but Sheikh. He should come back, take the captaincy (as he already deserves it based on his one performance for us this season), he should be taking over from Gerrard/Lampard in Englands midfield, he still will do but not half as quickly as he would if he wasn't always on the bench. That said today was his first game back from injury, and he's not short of appearances for Citeh... just not loved by the fans as he was here and isnt nearly as pivotal to them as he was to us. If we replaced Ash with Milner it would be a great bit of business. Who knows, sign Milner Ash might even be tempted to stay, with Downing, Albrighton, Milner and Young all playing well.... think of the rotation, the glorious beautiful rotation. ( 8 ) Jimmy Milner is **** brilliant We sold him for 20 million Bought him back for just a million We love Jimmy Milner ( 8 ) if only...
  2. Injury crisis from hell Sissoko 4 months (on his way back) Young 2 months Fellaini Suspended for 3 games Lukaku 2 months (just coming back - thankgod) Enrqiue 3 weeks Gabby was out for 2 months and is just coming back to full training in the next week or so. Curtis Davies (best defender) out for 5 weeks Disgusting amount of injuries, Im sure theres more but just squad players. Got knocked out of FA Cup in 6th round to Baggies had Charlton in the semi's too if i got there. So annoyed lol, luckily managed to win the League Cup before this happened and win my 1st leg vs Besiktas in CL... bit worried about the second leg. 4th with 2 games in hand on Chelsea (3rd - 1 point ahead) and Utd (1st 5 points ahead). Spurs second 3 points ahead with a game in hand on me :/
  3. change the tactic, 'have a private chat' with some of your players etc. Who is in your team? If its the standard Villa side. Try 4-2-3-1 with Delfouneso up front as Advanced forward. Try and get a target man in to play along side him (then go 4-4-2 sometimes, I use Lukaku or Llorente as 'Target Man Support'). Not tried on 11.3 yet... but even a pairing of Gabby and Fonz usually works wonders upfront... never played a team with Bent in so don't know how best to play him. I presume as an Advanced forward with Gabby as a Trequartista Young on the left as an 'Inside Forward' then rotate Downing and Albrighton on the right as 'Winger'. Ireland in the Centre as Advanced Playmaker (retrain Bannan to this position too for rotation). Delph/Makoun and NRC in the middle. Sign one or two of Defour, Fellaini, Sissoko, Veloso for rotation in the middle. Clark as left sided Central Defence and (if your not on 11.3) Curtis Davies on the right sided Central defence... If you are on 11.3 try and sign Phil Jones of Blackburn to play here instead. Clark with either of these two is superb.
  4. 2,416 tickets available for the game. Holte End: K2 and K6 most tickets available (269 and 192 respectively) - R/L corners - Upper Trinity: A1 and A2 (317 and 186) - Upper, towards Holte End in corner North Stand: T5 and T1 (178 and 111) - Upper corners Left and Right Doug Ellis: M5 (240) P2 (108) and P1 (100) - towards Holte End side of Pitch are the areas with the most tickets left available. Probably the closest to sell out we've had. Anybody know what Wolves' allocation was?
  5. Yeah ive failed with rotation this season have been good before this season... dont knwo why, let a few players go and have some big fees to pay if I play some players again, which not sure I want to pay just yet (they are now my cup players). Starting 11 Season 4: ------------Smithies Walker----Davies----Clark----Enrique -------------Fellaini---Delph Albrighton-----Modric------Young --------------Fonz/Lukaku Sissoko would be in there but he's injured for four months. Downing and Verratti for rotation, taken Thorgan Hazard on loan for rotation there too as Young is now injured. rotate midfield between the above and Veloso (cups), NRC, Bannan, Modric, Sissoko (injured) PL: 1st 1 point ahead Spurs (who have game in hand) 20 games gone - 6 point gap between us and Utd (3rd) CL: Beskitas in 1st Knockout round LgeCup: Semi vs Wolves FA: 4th round vs QPR Won: Club World Championship, Euro Super Cup and Community Shield
  6. Precisely, Essien's entire first season was, by chelsea's standards anyway, rather poor. It seems mad to me that some of our fans are ready to write Makoun off after 4 games, Im not sure whether to blame this on a) stupidity or the fact we rarely sign people from abroad.
  7. Very tempted to blow work off and travel to down to Brum for this game... but so worried about it, I can see this being worse than Sunderland if we lose, cant face a train journey back to Wales feeling like shit and very much out of pocket
  8. Not generalzing everybody here as im sure people come on both sides of this. But for me, people who watched him / knew him as a player before we signed him are happy. Those who expected a defensive midfielder because they had heard it on here are not happy. He's been exceptional. The guy CAN tackle, he can play in a defensive role, he's just adjusting... takes more than four games. Ideally he is a central midfielder who mves the ball forwards though
  9. -----------------Friedel------------- Walker---Cuellar---Baker---Young --------------NRC------------------- ---------------------Makoun-------- Albrighton-----Young------Downing -----------------Bent---------------- Collins back: Walker-Cuellar-Collins-Young Collins Back, Young Injured: Walker-Cuellar-Collins-Baker Collins Injured/Sacked and Young Injured: Walker-Cuellar-Baker-Delph Must must must must win
  10. Hummels will indeed be quality, as will all these players tbf. Surprised Fabio and Rafael haven't been mentioned, if utd manage to get another great 'stopper' a la Vidic they hve an utterly superb defence forming (Sakho would be my guess, who i believe they were linked with at one stage) Rafael---Smalling---Sakho---Fabio I often wonder in what regard our own youngsters are held in the rest of the league. We obviously rate Albrighton, Bannan, Clark, Gardner, Grealish, Graham, Walker and Fonz in rather high esteem. It would be interesting to see what others thought of them and what league of player our youngsters are thought of. England have a rather Bright future imo with some of the players coming through but I never know whether to believe the hype or whether the hype is only there because they are english.
  11. lmao ^ Can we get a network game going please?
  12. 4-4-2 has nothing to do with it imo.
  13. I've honestly been wondering the exact same thing for a while now. He captained the youth side last season so he must at least have something about him re- leadership (it could simply be that he was of the age to captain the youths but ...). He'll be 20 in October so he's not exactly a foetus in footballing terms. So who knows... (hopefully). Only thing i know about him is, he is going out with a girl who supports the shite. Can't blame him though as she's hot. http://tinyurl.com/6y4mqkt If you want to have a look at her!
  14. Agree, but Cuellar isnt the right player to partner Clark imo, he should be rotation/bench at best. Would be great to get Enrique but dont see it happening... Newcastle have a very good chance of building something decent aslong as Ashley doesn't **** it up again.
  15. No it wouldnt. Warnock should be on the bench at best incase somebody gets an injury. He should be nowhere near first team. Walker---Cuellar---Baker---Delph by the looks of it. Jarvis/O'Hara are going to be a handful
  16. I just won it, I think its around £40m
  17. Yeah Mark could you just start posting that would be fantastic
  18. 4th season with Villa.. somehow gone to pot this season. Can only think its because I signed a load of young regens.. Went on a 10 game winning streak though... but now cant win to save my life. Now 6th :/
  19. When you look at the table.. I start thinking '****' we are in some deep shit. And then somebody posts who else is up for relegation and I cant help but think that even though our results havent been great... we are still playing much better than any of these teams. Blacburn are in freefall and i expect them t only just about survive. Maybe go down, same for blues. If im honest I think SHA and Blackburn will both survive, but only marginally. Wigan, Blackpool and West Brom down
  20. Well at least thats positive then. A striker getting into right positions is exactly what would work well in a rotation system with Bent without changing the dynamic of the team much
  21. Only came on at 76 minutes today vs Ipswich in a 0-0 draw so not really enough time to judge him, would hope he'd get bigger run outs in the remaining games. He gave away a free kick and also put in 1 cross. No time to change the game though.
