  1. OT but why does a google ID help with the interweb ? I don't have one, what am I missing out on ? edit: thinking about it I do have one as I signed up to google plus , just never use it ... You should try logging in to your Google Chrome sessions on your different machines. Also try logging into google and marvel at the massive amount of stuff you can do just from the toolbar at the top.
  2. I've seen some of the google "share" (ie. collaborative) stuff have problems when there are too many simultaneous users, I wonder if it's that?

    Ultrabooks

    Hmmm. Getting very tempted now.

    Ultrabooks

Please read this for actual benchmarks of Windows vs Linux Haswell performance. "Doesn't have the software hooks" my arse ad with the much faster development cycles and the fact that Intel are heavily backing Linux, those benchmarks are only going to move one way. Please read this for a single example of how a major distro uses touch on Linux. Not that most users have the slightest use for touch on a laptop. I'm genuinely interested in whether Linux works on Ultrabooks as I'm in the market for a new laptop and I won't make myself suffer with Windows. I don't understand why you felt the need to take this off topic by bashing Linux with the sowing of FUD. Please don't attempt to moderate this board. If your debate style is "this is true because I said it and you can't refute it and I won't debate it", then that is not acceptable. Do not tell other posters what they can and cannot post.
  5. No idea then, sorry. I have to ask though, how do you function on the internet without a Google id? Inefficiently I suppose
  6. You don't need one. Are you getting an error?

I call bullshit on both of your claims.

Which Zanbook do you have? Do Asus support it officially?

I'm not sure why Linux needs inferior hardware. Linux would run just fine on that hardware (better than Windows would), but I don't have the option. Stupid marketing decision.

I like this, but it comes with Windows, so simply "no".
  11. If you are ejected from the ground then the law allows an (up to) 2 year ban from all football grounds. It's pretty unlikely, but if someone's having a bad day...

    New version

The Android app from the Play Store or the beta from the sticky?
  13. I can't swear that I've tried HD. It will depend on your wifi. Get one from Amazon and send it back within the DSR time limit if it doesn't do what you want.
  14. Since Chromecast, Miracast only devices look like a dead end. I have a receiver I got from Amazon, but it's nothing special. There is a small lag, but I'm not sure why that would make any difference. I start the stream and watch it on TV; I don't care if it runs slightly behind the picture on my phone as I'm not looking at the phone.
  15. It would be hard to form a new first impression.
  16. Please see the message from "JPA Massive" which I've merged in above.
  17. It's got a smaller screen (with higher resolution). You'll have to try one to see if it works for you for reading comics and magazines.. I've no idea about printing. I assume all modern printers support cloudprint and I thought everything could print to cloudprint. Even Apple stuff. I've no experience of Netflix, but I expect the Chromecast does this much more elegantly. I have a miracast box so if I used Netflix I'd stream it wirelessly from my Nexus 4 to the TV.
  18. I have a Nexus 4 and 7 (and a Xoom). They do different jobs. They do those jobs well. The new Nexus phone will replace the Nexus 4. I'll buy a new Nexus 7 when something goes wrong with my existing one. I'll probably buy a Nexus 10 when it gets refreshed as the Xoom is struggling now. It's hard to recommend anything when you don't describe your usage.
  19. Please don't ask which ipad is best in a thread about Android tablets. Thanks.
