  1. "Nothing" *is* poorly defined. Something comes from nothing continuously at all times in all of spacetime, if by "nothing" the questioner means "vacuum". If "nothing" is not equivalent to "vacuum", we would need a definition of "nothing". If the questioner means "the logical opposite of all spacetime" then that is unknowable and probably meaningless (like asking which way is south when at the south pole). You'd probably need to invent a god to know the unknowable, but don't ask who made the god, because it's not inventing god that's silly, it's inventing something which invented god which is silly.
  2. "As new"? So they've not used the battery?
  3. Welcome. Fulham have a neutral section where anyone can buy tickets. You should also join your local lions club.
  4. I see your point, and obviously you have the choice not to use their services. I'm not clear why using your real name is a risk though. You need to choose your suppliers on the basis that they don't authenticate you using publicly available credentials, or stupid "what was the name of your first pet?" questions. (I hope that people reading in this forum would never put real answers to these questions.) As long as you do that screening then using your name isn't a risk. Otherwise how would celebrities ever get anything done? If social sites don't have your real name and you defame someone, then the only remedy for the victim is against the site. I suspect that one day VT or it's successors will have to go the same way, or go private.
  5. I'm curious why you think that commenting on Youtube isn't a social activity.
  6. Yes, but if your contract is up, ask Orange for the unlock code anyway.

    General Chat

This is the wrong forum for this. I suspect you are using chrome. Try pasting with Ctrl shift v instead of Ctrl v

    General Chat

Youtube doesn't need to be a link, just paste in the URL and the site embeds it by magic.
  9. Your ratings and reactions please. Keep it respectful even if you know everyone else is wrong. This thread will open automatically at the end of the game unless I've broken it again. A MoTM poll will be added later.
  10. ... and was it the right choice? (I'm still using a very early original N7 with 8GB which nearly got up to half full once.)
  11. Some pictures taken today with Nexus5 (not mucked about with).
  12. I hate Parcelfarce. My item is out for delivery today, but I'm in the office as their crappy tracking site said that the item hadn't been collected (fro Google) yet. Argh.
  13. whaaa? You getting yours tomorrow too? It's hard to tell with Parcelfarce, but I'm guessing mine will be on Tuesday.
  14. I'm not going to tell you what mine is like as you haven't asked me. This might not be true.
  15. I suspect like mine that when you track it, it hasn't been collected by parcelfarce yet. It'll probably be collected on Monday and delivered Tuesday.

    badBIOS

You can't flash the BIOS from Linux or OpenBSD without being prompted for root permissions. If they were logged in as root then it's hard to feel any sympathy.
  18. My black 16GB N5 ha been prepped for dispatch. As it's parcelfarce I wonder which random will get my phone.
  19. I've just spent another £300 on mine yesterday. Google will know that it's not your real name and what your real name is. But you know that. I don't see the point in pretending it's anonymous. If you want to be anonymous, don't use Google. As you know it's not anonymous, you might has well have an protected account that you use for purchases, even if you use disposable accounts for other things. Being a techie, I'd bet that your browser returns an almost unique fingerprint so I'd guess that your next disposable account is linked with your previous one the first time you browse to a page with analytics on it.
  20. I'm not sure how disposable card numbers help. If you buy an app, a track, a film, a tablet from Google Play, that purchase is linked to the account, not the card. How is your account then disposable? Surely it's better to have an account that you use for your purchases, which you protect strongly, than run the risk of losing access to.purchases or returns. I can understand having additional disposable accounts, but it makes sense to have a main account which you protect as strongly as the tools allow you to
  21. It's nice being able to choose from a range of phones with different sizes and features isn't it?
  22. So your denying yourself additional security for no reason? I can't imagine my Google account being disposable. I guess you don't use yours for purchases.
