  4. Sounds like the battery is failing. Tell the retailer to fix it.

As you can't withhold your number when sending a text, your network might release that information. I doubt it though. If you can justify her behaviour as causing a nuisance, you can involve the police. Probably not wise for family though and the messages may have been lost for technical reasons.
  6. or you could not delete it and post a follow up in case someone else has the same problem in future.

They have that information, but they will not release it to you without a court order. What's up?
  8. I'm telling you that even without mass market economies of scale you can already buy a £10 box which will stream video on demand. All it needs is a real time back channel for user input and that's all most gamers will need. The games producers gain all the advantages of virtualisation in their data centres and you buy a subscription to stream the games. Many households will buy a streaming box for every TV (except where they are built in or available through eg a cable / satellite STB). No worries about hardware failure and if your broadband is down, you ask the neighbours nicely for use of their wifi until it's fixed. Even 4k games will stream, they'll just need more bandwidth. It's far cheaper to chase increasing processor resource requirements in a data centre than in the customers' homes.
  9. A streaming box costs a tenner now. There'll be no margin in selling them in future. MS and Sony will be selling streaming services, not consoles.
  10. For the mass market the future is streamed games, not local processing. For gamers the future is open platforms with devices that leverage that platform. You;ll still be able to buy a console, but it won't be locked down and branded. However all the mass market games will be streamed.
  11. SteamOS will be free, but I was talking about Steam's development model and the open platform, not specifically the OS or their console. The devs don't have to pay the exorbitant costs associated with console branding and one build runs everywhere meaning a bigger potential market. If new games come out and they are only available via a streaming service people will buy them regardless of the brand. Brands are transitory, remember Sega?
  12. I'd turn off imessage now, just to be sure you don't get screwed. Sorry I probably should but I have no idea what you mean (I know how to turn it off , I just don't know why) is there a problem with iMessage? Try searching for imessage in this forum.
  13. Why do you think that only MS and Sony can dictate the future? If there's a future for consoles, it looks like Steam. Indie developers on open platforms. You don't need anything more than a dumb streaming box (like Now TV) to stream a game to a TV and they cost a tenner today. There'll be a market for specialist controllers and the like, but most casual gamers will use tablets.

So the same as cash then?
  15. I'd turn off imessage now, just to be sure you don't get screwed.
  16. Why will you need a console if everything is streaming? What value will it add? If I'm streaming my games, why will I want a console? MS have already shown their hand. They want to own your entire entertainment. Gaming will just be a (small) part of that.
  17. I would guess if they are going to classify by user types, it would be PAYG last.
  18. Don't care. 3G is quick enough for everything I do.
  19. There won't be a next gen. Not recognisable as a games console anyway.
  20. Yes, a "normal" SIM is the size of a credit card. You mean a mini-SIM. In the early days of GSM there were phones which took a full sized SIM card.
  21. My primary number is now on Three on the rolling 30 day all you can eat data tariff. It's an extra 3 quid a month compared to the 12 month contract, but I've no intention of being locked in to a contract again.
  22. What size is it and what size does it need to be? I have cut many minis to micros using a cutter I got from Amazon for a fiver. It doesn't touch the contacts.
  23. Ah sorry yes. It happens for me too. My guess would be the same as yours.
  24. As per the sticky at the top of the forum with the name "PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU POST IN THIS FORUM", can you let me know the browser and OS you are using? Have you cleared cookies and cache? Have you tried another browser? What is it an advert for? Does it change? Thanks.
  25. What happens when you click on the advanced link (the gear wheel) and try from there?
